frogstudio Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Ok, so here's the thing... unlike most of you might have thought, I'm not injecting or making my minifigs smoke anything strange. In november I'm travelling to Nepal with my wife and we plan to take our sigfigs (they've already been to Hong Kong, Beijing and Manila). We always take them and get a photo of the place we are in. On this trip we are making a climb that will take us up to 5614m above sea level, so, I was wondering if I might be establishing a new world record with them ( I mean, first two minifigs to get that high on foot... well on backpack) Has anyone here ever taken a minifig higher? I would be interested to know. A soon as I've got the figs ready (have to customize them for the harsh climate they'll encounter) I'll post a couple of pictures... and when I get back, the pictures of Nepal. cheers, and waiting for your comments!!!! :) Edited August 31, 2010 by frogstudio Quote
prateek Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I could see the headline now: frogstudio has just set a new world record by taking Lego minifigures up to 5614 m in the air. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 A soon as I've got the figs ready (have to customize them for the harsh climate they'll encounter) I'll post a couple of pictures... Take Snowtroopers. Quote
RepublicForces Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Take Snowtroopers. Use the snowtroopers to hold your sigs as prisenors ;) Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Take Snowtroopers. or might I suggest the caveman I think it's faaaaar oooouuut that you and your figs are on a trip to find yourselves, dude. Quote
Sirius Black Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Take Snowtroopers. Or a Wampa . I'm sure he would enjoy it. Quote
MacK Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I'm pretty sure I've taken minifigures on planes before and I'm sure I'm not the only person to have done so. So I think your minifigs probably aren't going to be the highest ever, unless the record is taking them by foot only. Quote

Yea I think I might have the record for minifig most travelled most mines flown to New Zealand and back to England ten times and various other travels Edited August 31, 2010 by Darth Jar Jar Quote
382nd Legionnaire Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 nothing new at all really. Sure my dad buys me Legos like the new ARC 170 that wasn't out in the U.S. I bet even mail planes carry Legos you know. If you were an astronaut... that would be different though. Quote

Obviously, any set bought abroad and which contains minifgs will go higher since it's on a plane. But that's just like saying "put me in the guiness!!! I took a plane and reached a higher altitude than anyone who climbed Mount Everest!!!"... :) Quote
ZO6 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I entered a contest for the LEGO magazine a lot of years ago in which one of the prizes was a martian minifigure from the 'Life on Mars' theme which had been aboard the ISS (international space station). I don't remember exactly whether it was the top 10 or 100 entries which would win a minifig, but in any case I ended up winning one. It came framed in a nice plaque stating the dates that it was on board the space station. I'll see if I can get my plaque shipped to where I'm currently living so that I can take a picture of it. That's really interesting, to actually own a minifigure that has been in outer space......crazy, just crazy Quote
The Legonater Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Or a Wampa . I'm sure he would enjoy it. And take the Yeti and Rebel snowtroops too . Quote
Sirius Black Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 And take the Yeti and Rebel snowtroops too . The Wampa is the Star Wars Yeti, so logically by taking the Wampa, you would take him. . Just remember that Luke couldn't handle the cold at night, so be careful with your rebel troops . Sirius Quote

Sirius Black Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I was actually talking about the Adventerers yeti I know, but since SW doesn't have a Yeti, the poor rebel troops might be confused . And Wampas are (siriusly) cooler . Sirius Quote
CommanderFox Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Haha! Looking forward to the pics frogstudio! I never really thought about minifigures making world records. Since the height records seem to have reached there limit, maybe depth records should start being set! "Taking your power miners with you down real mines" , that would be some awesome pics. CF Quote

CF I know the moderators might kick my... but though almost a year has gone by, while browsing my posts in search of another thing, I realized I had never posted the pics... So, a promise it's a promise... :) Though my altimetre shows a lower altitude,, here's the REAL height reached... Quote
MacK Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 That's pretty cool frogstudio, perhaps one day a Lego man will land on the Moon or Mars. Quote
airsoftg36c Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) Hahahahahah...... An X-wing or Snowspeeder might also have aided your travel a little. Edited July 27, 2011 by airsoftg36c Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Hehe nice! Congrats on the record for highest elevation sigfig (on foot) Quote
frogstudio Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 Hahahahahah...... An X-wing or Snowspeeder might also have aided your travel a little. JAJAJAJAJA!!!! It would have really helped, especially when you consider that at that height you've got about just the 60% of the oxygen you would have at sea level.. I can tell you, even taking the figs from the can in which they travelled was a serious phisical strain!!! Thnaks for your comments. :) Quote
