ApophisV Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 two minutes ago i wanted to build up a little bot from spare parts... when i tried to clip a battle droid arm (had i mentioned, that i LOVE these parts?!? ), once again the clip broke... and that is not the first time that something like this happened.... there were up to ten arms, that broke off on one of the two ends... also this happens with 1x1 tiles with clips on the top... thats why i had to complete my naboo swamp via bricklink.... (for the arms i used the replacement service...) but the cause why i am posting this here is, that this never happend in my childhood.... i cant remember ANY clip that ever broke.... the first one was the clip from the naboo swamp and since that time there where several parts that broke... is this a problem of using new plastic for the bricks or are they fabricated in different ways? or was i more careful when i was a kid?!? maybe i should add, that this problems doesn't only affect clips, also serveral other parts are breaking, like these (both happend with the parts from my x-pods, but also parts from the last advents calendar are affected): both cracked slightly (they still work...) at the base... so, whats your experience? Jipay Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I don't know if quality of plastic is in question. I broke many flags during my childhood. Some parts are not as strong as other, I guess it's completely normal. Battle droid are made of nice parts but those are really thin. I guess this is why it breaks so easely. And don't forget one thing : you are much stronger than a child, this is also an explaination that comes to my mind :) Quote
ApophisV Posted April 18, 2004 Author Posted April 18, 2004 *beeing defiant* BUT I WANT THEM NOT TO BREAK!!!!! *cry* (y) hm, maybe that is right... :$ i promise to be more careful with my lego from now on :loul: Quote
Jipay Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Ypu have to otherwise we will launch an association to protect LEGO parts :D Quote
jonfett Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I have also noticed this in a few of my parts. Mostly the mini figs but I guess that that is from over-use. One of the parts that breaks easiest for me are the legs, which is annoying as the hips weaken and then figs just fall over. :( I am sure Lego is getting weaker and my hands bigger :D! Jon. Quote
DoubleT Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 For me its not very ofen, that there i a piece that is broken when i buy it, buy have detroyed one or two myself Quote

Jipay Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 LooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooL you forgot the following passage : "I also decided to attack megablocks considering they are using mass destructive army-based models. This is a tough job, but we have to do it, and we will do it Quote
ApophisV Posted April 18, 2004 Author Posted April 18, 2004 Yes, sorry, i forgot to say, that satellit pictures CLEARLY show trucks, that COULD be used to produce and transport Megablocks. They are located at the axis of evil (somewhere in Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia or another place not controled by the US or G.I.) >< >< LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Jipay Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Something cheap... I know a company named L__O who should try to get the same price level :< Quote
ApophisV Posted April 18, 2004 Author Posted April 18, 2004 hm, i know Megabloks only from the fbtb forum.... are these sets available in europe?!? Quote
Jipay Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Sure they are. in fact lego is sueing them as much as possible in all the country possible. In france they won in the justice court so they now have the right to sell their products. Those are basically exactly like lego, but it's written megalock instead of lego on every brick (and minifigs are really bad comparred to lego) Quote
DoubleT Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Its an shame that people can ripoff other people... Quote
jonfett Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Also the plastic is alot cheaper than lego is so it breaks easier. They dont fit together as well wither. I have one of the sets. The quality is so poor but it is very cheap that is why it is competiton for Lego. As parents will see lego to buy but then on another shelf megablocks for like Quote
