Governor Mister Phes Posted April 20, 2006 Governor Posted April 20, 2006 What do we know of Evil Stevie's Pirate Game? It seems to attract a myriad of small ships with brick built hulls. View Brickshelf Gallery Quote
Capn Frank Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 For these ships, i think it's probably not very realistic for ships this small to have such a large cannon. A lot of the ships are Imperial Trading Post Cutters made in different colors it seems. i know there are some limitations for the size of the ships for this game for instance, the amount of hit points on ships is based on how many hull sections are on the ship. if the ship's too small for a hull piece, then it's considered a cutter. if you have a ship like my Dame du Loup and it's 32-34 studs wide and the hull is 140 studs long and no hull pieces, you can't easily give it a hit point rating. I'd be interested to know if there are more rules to bypass this limitation. EB member UKDevilz (pretty sure it's spelt right) made another pirate game that goes by the length of the ship for hit points. There has been a little discussion about this stuff in the Lego Wargames forum right here. P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 14, 2007 Author Governor Posted March 14, 2007 http://www.io.com/~sj/PirateGame.html Unfortunately that website hasn't been updated since the 4th of August 2005, so does anybody know if they still play it? EB member UKDevilz (pretty sure it's spelt right) made another pirate game that goes by the length of the ship for hit points. There has been a little discussion about this stuff in the Lego Wargames forum right here. Ah yes, I'm browsing through that... Anway, I was more interested in discussing the MOCs used rather than the game itself hence posting this thread in the Pirate MOC Forum. Perhaps I should revise the title... For these ships, i think it's probably not very realistic for ships this small to have such a large cannon.A lot of the ships are Imperial Trading Post Cutters made in different colors it seems. That ship is definitely a good archtype for a cutter, but I'm wondering if they ever create something more original. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted March 14, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted March 14, 2007 I had seen such ships before. They are only designed to be used in the pirate game and are not much to look at. Suppose I would capture one of these ships, I would not take it as a prize but sink it instead. The world would be a more beautiful place without them :skel1: Quote
Scouty Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Don't waste your ammo on these! Just ram strait into it! It's brick built hulls will break instantly! Some of them are nice, but not what I call the best, good luck to these guys with these ships *y* . They'll need it! I like the blue and gray one in the background. It's rails look quite nice. :capn: Not sure what a "gam" is ;-) . Quote
Capn Frank Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 ...Ah yes, I'm browsing through that... Gotchya *y* I had seen such ships before. The world would be a more beautiful place without them :skel1: I'd try to go for something more realistic looking. The penguin is more realistically designed. But before judging too harshly, I think it should be taken into consideration the fact that these ships were built way back in 2005. Their MOCing abilities probably (hopefully) have improved a lot since the creation of these we little ones. Also, they probably just made as many ships as possible to increase their chances of winning. (more ships=more wins) They'd probably swarm the enemy with all these little guys. If they made one bigger ship with all these bricks, that ship would be very colorful indeed. P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2007 Author Governor Posted March 15, 2007 Not sure what a "gam" is ;-) . You be a good little moderator and correct the error then - there's a reason why "gam" is there. :-P Quote

El Bucanero Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Is there anyone who ever played this game?? Do you mean me or Imperial Scouts :S ?Anyway, it's corrected! I couldn't resist editing :-$ EDIT: aagh, everytime when I edit the title it just get back after a few seconds! I guess the title's to long... Mr Tiber Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted March 15, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted March 15, 2007 Is there anyone who ever played this game?? I never played the game. There are no pirate fans in my neighborhood... Imperial Scouts is no moderator is he :-D Mr. Phes must be drinking again. ;-) Well, strange thing it wasn't corrected on my computer... I couldn't resist editing :-$ EDIT: aagh, everytime when I edit the title it just get back after a few seconds! I guess the title's to long... Now it's changed. I've replace "used in" by "from" to make the title a bit shorter. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2007 Author Governor Posted March 15, 2007 That sentence was supposed to be directed towards Bonaparte or Mr Tiber but somehow it ended as a response to Imperial Scouts post. I think I need to go on long vacation... Quote
Capn Frank Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Is there anyone who ever played this game??... My brother and i are in the process of recreating rules for pirate gaming, although it'll probably be a lot different cause of the use of excell and laptops for all the calculations and tabulations instead of using a written paper ;-) We both live in platteville, WI. His 150-175 cannons, and almost 500 troops verses my 75-100 cannons and 180ish troops. But he doesn't have enough ships built to hold many of his men. We crunched some numbers and realized that if i only used the Dame du Loup, it would be very difficult for his 12 smaller vessels (which are almost all non-MOC ships) to take it out. ...Mr. Phes must be drinking again. ;-) ... There are a lot of drinkers on the pirate forum :-D That sentence was supposed to be directed towards Bonaparte or Mr Tiber but somehow it ended as a response to Imperial Scouts post.I think I need to go on long vacation... Don't drink too much during your vacation. X-D Quote
El Bucanero Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Now it's changed.I've replace "used in" by "from" to make the title a bit shorter. That's strange, because used and from both have four letters... I thought the lenght of a title was in letters, not in .... millimeters?? EDIT: oops, I forgot it was used IN before, and you made one word out of it... Must be school stress... Mr Tiber Quote

Capn Frank Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Computers are wonderful inventions aren't they? Will it just be you and your brother or do you know of other pirate fans who would play? We don't know of any pirate fans nearby. 8-| Although we are looking for ways to have a pirate game online. But that's way down the line. Probably in a year or two. Depending on how much time i have. The rules aren't close to being done right now so we'd need to finish them before getting them online :) P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 16, 2007 Author Governor Posted March 16, 2007 Will do you rules differ to those of Evil Stevie's Pirate game? Quote
Specever Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Got some friends, siblings, or... Uhhh... That's all I can think of, but, do you have people that also love LEGO Pirates, and have LOADS of ships and pirates? (For siblings, let them borrow yours unless they have their own...) Well, you will love to play this Pirate War Game! http://www.io.com/~sj/PirateGame.html It is about strategy, and skills. It is very realalistic. Once I get some ships, I will try it with my brother! You're gonna love it. Quote
Ryan_T Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Well Throw me overboard! *Not really, Sharks will eat me :O* If I had more then just brickbeards bounty I could possibly try! lol Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I don't know if this has anything to do with Lego pirates. It looks like a quite nice game anyway. But I've just installed another pirates game. And so does CPT. Jr. Quote
Wes Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 My collection is pretty massive and I feel like I need to do more with it than just let it sit around, so I have been playing Evil Stevie's Pirate Game with my fleet for several years now. I even asked Steve Jackson if he wanted to played with me at DragonCon, but he didn't want to commit to anything. Quote
