Fires-storm Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Hey mates, I have a quick question. How many of you think my vig needs a second level, and if it does, am I allowed to replace the pics with new ones of it with the second level? Also, I used an old Johnny Thunder explorer minifig on the second level for the story of it. This is allowed, right? Thoughts on this would be much appreciated Quote
fred67 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Are you saying that the critique and the advices is a bad thing? No, it just means cralegoboy seems to have gotten a lot of it... since I'm doing the witch, too, I thought I'd add my two cents... Quote
Sisco Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 No, it just means cralegoboy seems to have gotten a lot of it... That's what she said... Nice entry! I definitely have some competition. Quote

Fires-storm Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Yeah, it doesn't place hold, it just continues the story a bit, and also, then another level there shall be, and a bit more gold! Quote

Don't forget to tile the next level, if it's indoor. Oh, and I now noticed that the blue tiles don't really fit there, but maybe they will if you'll change the color of the black baseplate to the same color of the tiles. Quote

I did tile the next level, don't worry And also, I just liked the blue, and I noticed that a lot of pharaohs and such had blue tile, as it was a sign of wealth. Also, I made the base plate black because thats the only color of 8x8 I have free But thanks for the suggestion, though I don't have the base pieces to implement it Quote

(If you have these in this blue tone, since a normal blue would fit well with the light blue tiles, but will look a bit weird). Also, the furniture you've put there is lower than the floor, so it looks odd. Quote
Fires-storm Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) Yeah, I did want to tile the entire thing under the treasure, however I wanted it to not slide and stay where I put it, so it was a trade off of no tiles, ah well. Also, I tried that, but I kept the black because it just held together nicer. Hopefully this won't hurt me to much in the competition, I just like playing with my vig so it has to be durable I'll try to photograph the new set up and get it loaded either today or tomorrow. Still Raindrop Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Hi, I was wondering whether anyone had any critiques of my MOC, or any ways I could make it better. Quote
prateek Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Hi, I was wondering whether anyone had any critiques of my MOC, or any ways I could make it better. Your's is actually one of my favourites so far! Great job Quote
Fires-storm Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) Yes, Mariko, your moc is actually quite nice! The detail is good, and the expressions and description really sell it. Well done Edit: I also finally got the second level of my entry uploaded! Edited September 17, 2010 by Fires-storm Quote
Cecilie Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Finally got time to photograph my entry for category A. Now on to finishing my category B entry... Quote
Sisco Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I just want to take a moment and say: Great entries to all. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing them all, and I wish you all well in the contest. It's going to be hard to pick who to vote for, that for sure! Quote

BTW, can someone talk with Yatkuu about the Star of David thing? (I can't PM him, he has only 5 posts) Edited September 19, 2010 by noname Quote
Plissken Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Very good entries in both categories so far. A few of them are really genious Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 Good job on the submitted entries so far. Please be reminded that the deadline for this contest is just around the corner. In fact, it's about 8 days more before the contest deadline is up. Quote
ScoutTroopy Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Ok this is my first upload to eurobricks so sorry if i upload this wrong or anything. Anyway this is my disco creation for the DJ. (sorry about the grainy pics) Does attaching the pics work? (help!) Quote
squiz Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Just put my entries up, really enjoyed doing this contest. Im impressed with all the entries so far, no doubt there will be a flurry of entries before the deadline. Good luck to everyone! Quote
Still Raindrop Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 This certainly is going to be a difficult contest--there are so many good entries! If I place in this contest, I think I'll make my Mexican restaurant vignette into a modular building, keeping the same chef minifigure. So, here's hoping Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 There are some really brilliant entries, that's for sure. I had originally intended on doing one for the pharaoh, but I changed my mind after I saw some of the egypt entries. LOTS of really cool techniques in all of them! Quote

(sorry about the grainy pics) Does attaching the pics work? (help!) I saw this inside Category A entry and I moved it here. I don't see any image for your entry as well. May I know if you are still interested to participate or not? Quote
Fugazi Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Can we vote for ourselves? Should you even ask? Quote
