Adrian86 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 This little scene here shows Lara Croft diving in the Mediterranean Sea near some sunken ancient Greek ruins looking for During the built I tried some new things and am quite happy with the result, especially the angled "broken" column and the "floating" Lara, as well as the self made sticker for the torso. Alright enough talking, here are some pictures. Thanks for looking! Quote
Flare Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 This is not bad, but I think the sand could use more lumps and bumps, the sand on the ocean floor is not perfectly flat you know! Also a few sea-creatures wouldn't hurt. Nice work though! Keep it up. Quote
Adrian86 Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Thanks! These are definitely things I´ll consider in my next MOC! Quote
frogstudio Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Great MOC!!! Simple and right to the point. It could esasyly make an impulse or small LEGO set. Congrats!!! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Very clever trick you have used to show the diver in such a position ! A nice MOC 'Adrian86' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Nice simple MOC Adrian! I love how you made Lara float in the water. The details are just fine for an 18 x 6 vignette. Good job and keep it up! Quote
NPimenta Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 looks nice! very simple but very nice to Quote
Fugazi Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Very nice! I love how you achieved a very natural swimming position for Lara. I'm not familiar with that fishy blue creature/headpiece?, is it something from the Atlantis theme? Quote
Corydoras Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I'm not familiar with that fishy blue creature/headpiece?' date=' is it something from the Atlantis theme?[/quote']Yeah, it's the Manta Warrior headpiece. Great MOC! The torso decal looks nice and really suits the Lara minifig. Quote
Adrian86 Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks to you all! Yep that´s the Manta Warrior headpiece, I just bought the small Impulse set with the minifigure and thought that would look great in this MOC. The swimming position and the torso decal were really the hardest part of it all, I guess that´s what distracted me a bit from the details. Next time I´ll try to focus a bit more on that. Thanks again for all the great comments! Quote
sok117 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I like it, it reminds me of a 3-D painting, very cool. And good idea using the manta ray mans head as a reasonably sized manta ray. Quote
Defferwa Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 The picture is a little bit low quality, probably because of an old camera or bad lighting, but I LOVE IT because of that. It makes it look blurry, like shes actually underwater! Quote
brickmack Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 How did you get the diver to "float"? I can't see any connecting elements anywhere, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot. Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 (edited) Cool little vignette, Adrian86. It would make a fantastic backdrop for a goldfish bowl! The way you've connected the diver is, as others have pointed out, very clever, and your use of the headgear for an animal is nice too. The only thing I'd change is the yellow tint of the pictures. Otherwise, a very solid MOC. *Edited: I used the wrong screen name! Sorry Adrian! * Edited September 15, 2010 by Blackicep8ntball Quote
Adrian86 Posted September 15, 2010 Author Posted September 15, 2010 You´re right, it would work perfectly as a gold fish bowl background ;-) I´ve used a pretty old camera, next time I´ll try to borrow a better one. Lara is attached to the wall via an angular brick and secured with a stick, otherwise she would be constantly falling off. Quote
Sam Vimes Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 (edited) Looks pretty cool, I like the sea creature thing. Edited September 15, 2010 by Sam Vimes Quote
Zzz Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I like Laras position, looks very "divy"! Quote
