Masked Builder Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Okay so this is my first Bionicle Moc in a while so please don't kill me. Anyways I really like Takanuva so I wanted to do a larger version of him so I present Takanuva! Comments & Questions are always encouraged! More pictures to come as I make them. Masked Quote
Extreme Sadness. Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Pretty good overall, but I just don't think the hunchiness fits Taka. -ES Quote
sok117 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It's a nice moc, but it just doesn't fit well with the noble warrior that is Takanuva, it almost looks like more of an evil rendering of him. But it is still very cool nonetheless. Quote

VBBN Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Anyways I really like Takanuva so I wanted to do a larger version of him so I present Takanuva! What exactly is the story behind his scale? Hes certainly larger than a normal toa, but any reason for this? Then again, I guess we never got an explainationa s to the massive takky we got in 08, but still. Anyways it looks pretty good but the torso is a big no-no. With arms and legs like that he deserves a better torso, something along the lines of an Axonn torso would work even. Also, I would recommend adding in another color. Silver was never really the mian color of him. In fact, silver is barely seen on any takanuva; 03 Takky; Dark gold and white 08 Takky; Gunmetal and white 10 Takky; White and silver So if nothing else he could stand to have some more white. Other than that I like the legs and upper arms. ;] Quote

That's why the 2008 Matoran were larger (relative to Toa) than they had been previous years. Anyway, I agree, this MOC doesn't really fit Takanuva. White should definitely be added to the color scheme to alleviate this (just replacing basic parts like the joints might be enough to do the trick), and his torso armor should be more substantial. I like what you've done with the feet-- I did something similar on a WIP for a Kalmah revamp I tried to make once. It'd probably be better, though, if you could find a way to make them a bit shorter in the front. As a work-in-progress this is great-- I like the creative design of his abdomen, and the innovative design of the feet. The proportions are good, even though people might disagree about whether or not the hunched posture works for Takanuva. If you decide to try and improve this MOC, I'd love to see pics of your solutions to some of these problems! Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 Thanks for all of the feedback guys! Now to use some of it... Quote
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 More white, less silver and no hunchiness should make this MOC perfect. Quote
