Legolas73 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Welcome in my meridional neighborhood. The sketch : Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) OMG ! This is so beautiful......the buildings, the pathments and clothes hanging on the line ! Mega detail and such wonderful modular structures ! Excellent work 'Legolas73' and I'm a conformist! ! Edited September 14, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
Cecilie Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 That's really a wonderful display! You've caught the style perfectly. I love it Quote
pinioncorp Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 OMG that is just beautiful. It's so colourful, but nothing looks out of place. The level of detail is just stunning, and even without an overload of minifigs (which I appreciate - its not overpopulated) it looks wildly vibrant. I like the way you've encorporated lots of plant life to your scene, something that is often overlooked in the dense streetscapes. Quote
BlueBard Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Amazing job, really! I like the coloured ensamble looking and of course such masterpiece details as the ice cream vendor or the "chef" sign. BRAVO! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Amazing work! I'm loving all the different colors you've used in this neighborhood. While extremely colorful, they all seem to blend so well together giving the appearance of a real-life town. With the design of the red roofs combined with the architectural details, the neighborhood almost has a China Town-like appearance, but not quite - maybe a bit Mediterranean. Oh, and I love the orange building. Great color and style with the ivy on the sides. In any case, I think your exquisite neighborhood deserves some front-page attention! Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Very well done. I have to say that I just looove the bocci field. Quote
Fires-storm Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wow, this is an incredible build, I truly have no idea what to compliment first! the buildings, the style, the level of sheer detail, well done on it all! Truly keep bricking friend Quote
Sandy Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I agree, this is an amazingly detailed MOC that feels very life-like. I love the mix of old and modern architecture, and the bursting colors look beautiful together, they do not clash. However, you must mean this is a "mediterranean neighborhood", as in located somewhere around the Mediterranean Sea, not "meridional", since that means it's related to the meridian, which is an imaginary line connecting the south and the north poles. Quote
Fugazi Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Beautiful MOC Legolas73, it's nice to see how different building shapes and colours come together to form an harmonious whole. I guess the same can be said about real-life French architecture! The small details gel everything together. Well done! However, you must mean this is a "mediterranean neighborhood", as in located somewhere around the Mediterranean Sea, not "meridional", since that means it's related to the meridian, which is an imaginary line connecting the south and the north poles. In French, méridional relates to the southern part of France, le Midi. Indeed, this does not translate well to English. Quote
Legolas73 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 In French, méridional relates to the southern part of France, le Midi. Indeed, this does not translate well to English. Exactly Quote
Rick Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Great work. It immediately puts you in that typical relaxed Mediterranean mood. Quote
Vindicare Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wow, this is amazing! All these huge MOCs popping up all of a sudden. Great work legolas, well done. Quote
badboytje88 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 This is so cute and colorful. I love it! Quote
Wout Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 What a terriffic moc. I like the architecture, the ice-cream stand and the jeu de boules/boccia very much. The chef sign is also a very nice detail. Quote
Sandy Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 In French, méridional relates to the southern part of France, le Midi. Indeed, this does not translate well to English. Haha, cool! You learn something new everyday, eh? I tried googling the word, but I didn't encounter this term. Thanks for explaining this to me, and apologies to Legolas73 for thinking you were just a poor speller. Quote
Odyssey Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wow, I'm flabbergasted. Designing and building a single nice cc-stlye building is hard enough but a whole quarter - Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 That's really nice! I love the blend of colors, it works really well. the blue building with the glass railing is really nice, I like it. The only thing jarring I see is the golden Atlantis gates, they just don't fit. I'm assuming that was done because that's the only color gates you have, so very nice work. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Amazing! Truly a MOC that deserves a Nice Work. Quote
Jargo Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Haha, cool! You learn something new everyday, eh? I tried googling the word, but I didn't encounter this term. Thanks for explaining this to me, and apologies to Legolas73 for thinking you were just a poor speller. that's odd I just googled it and found the meaning pretty much straight away. annyhoo, cool build and I have to say at first I wasn't liking the colours until I figured out where in the world it represented. Now I understand the colour choice. Quote
prateek Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wow! There's too much to praise, so all I'll say is that everything is awesome! Quote
sens1992 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wow, very very nice. Fantastic work here! So Mediterranean! I love it. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Wow, this is a truly a lovely lego neighborhood! The whole place looks like a very relaxing and serene place to live in. I love the simple, colorful, and not overly decorated houses, with just the right amount of details to accentuate the simplicity and beauty of the buildings. The outside benches, fountain, and ice cream stand adds another touch to the whole creation. I also liked your old-school free-hand designing, just like what I still do. Very impressive work Legolas73! Quote
brickmack Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Nice. The only detail I don't like is the gold gate parts from Atlantis, they just don't seem to go well with the other colors. Quote
kostasm13 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Awesome! Great job! My favourite building is the second from the left, with the external stairs and the roof garden! Quote
