Admiral BrickFin Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Hi everyone! I have recently aquired a 6271 Imperial flaship and, as most of you know, it lacks a figurehead! Please could anyone post their ideas in this topic. I'll upload my finished figurehead. P.S. If any of you need figurehead ideas, this shall be the official figureheady thingy forum! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 15, 2010 Governor Posted September 15, 2010 If you ever get back from your break you might want to check out the entries for the Figurehead Contest we held a while back. You may also want to learn to use the Search feature as that may reduce your probability of taking future breaks. Quote
noname Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Well, if you want a joke-figurehead, you can put a chrome vader or chrome C-3PO, as well as normal C-3PO. You can also put a monochrome minifig with crossed swords. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Chrome parts are indeed used quite often in figureheads. Especially when the figurehead is a knight. You may also try to create a brickbuilt animal, or make a minifig god. Think about Poseidon with a beard and trident. A look in the Greek or Roman mythology might help a lot! Quote
Islander King Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 You could put a mermaid or somthing, most ships of the time had female figures. Quote
dr jones Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 you could use the red horse helmet Or the golden one. Quote
lt.Gonville brickhead Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 You could put a mermaid or somthing, most ships of the time had female figures. Yes It was considered bad luck to have a man for a figurehead. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 But what about ancient gods as figurehead? Greek and Roman gods were used quite frequently. Animals were also popular to symbolize the strength of a ship. Royal shields and gold ornaments, mythical monsters (Hydra, Medusa) were used as well. I'd suggest to look at several ship MOCs in this forum for inspiration as well. Quote
