For the very first time, the complete range of Boardgames have arrived in local stores. I just bought the Frog Rush as a gift for someone special. It is really nice to see these made available in Singapore. In fact, I am probably getting the Ninjago pretty soon. Love those microfigs.

Yes, I might just pick that up to supplement Heroica, those micro skellies would fit in perfectly.

Although the relevant information of my post would obviously fit better in another forum, yet however:

In my dire anticipation of heroica's arrival I struck gold yesterday as I found some other games at insane discount. I got me two copies each of Minotaurus (at 9,99€) and Lava Dragon (at 6,99€). Gotta stock up on useful microfigs come adventuring time in summer ;-)

Now I'm wondering whether to reapply funds from other projects into getting more of the above or not... my inner custom devil-minifig of course advises to spend, spend, spend, but... ;-D

Be well all!

Cutty

edit: picked up the last two discounted copies of Lava Dragon and even found Meteor Strike at 50% off at another store. Just how lucky do I get from time to time? =)

Speaking of the Ninjago microfigs, here's a fun comic from the back of the instruction booklet. Is this unique to this game, or do the other games this year have comics of that sort? You'd think if they did, we'd have seen mention of it in the Banana Balance review...

Looks to be illustrated by either the person who illustrates the games' box art, or the person who illustrates the Ninjago "battle cards"-- although it's also possible that both are illustrated by the same person. Anyone able to share any insight on the illustrator? Kinda resembles the style Mike Rayhawk used for Knights' Kingdom and BrikWars.

As the person who made that review, nope, this is the first comic I've ever seen in a Game. I also have Frog Pond and Ramses Return, as well as all the older ones. Very spiffy, thanks for sharing! This game isn't available locally but I'm planning to get it from Amazon soon.

I've just seen another Lego Heroica Boardgame clip/movie and isn't it hard if you combine all 4 games to travel from one region to another with only 1 dice. Or are there some teleports? I would love to combine/fuse them all. And have alot microfigs to play the game with. Only need to find some people who wan't to play with (or agianst) me.

I'm particularly annoyed that neither of the games with classic space microfigs have made it to the states. Perhaps the games in general are not as successful in the US, or perhaps when the games were released previously in Europe those were some of the less popular ones, and LEGO didn't bother trying to market them here.

While Meteor Strike is of course now available, I don't know what the deal is with Lunar Command. It's odd because it's actually among the games listed on the backs of the instructions for at least one or two of the earliest games released here (the gameplay instructions, not the assembly instructions) - the rulebook for Magikus, at least, has several of the games shown on the back cover, including Lunar Command, and Magikus was one of the initial five or so games released in the US, wasn't it?

Thanks for reminding me about last night's dream of my X taunting me that she had Lunar Command... neither of those games were released here physically, but may have appeared on S@H I don't know, I rarely look there.

I'm going to get Banana Balance. Already celebrating my b-day and so I hope more of these lovely Lego Board Games will follow.

New (finalized) Heroica pictures! Not very high-res, but still cool.

Overall, not much I can see that wasn't already seen at ToyFair, besides a glimpse of the printing on some of the microfigs. Still, I'm sure someone might be able to pick out details I couldn't.

Thanks for that! I hope these aren't too expensive because the microfigure count is quite high (Fortaan now holds the record - Sorry, Ramses!). I've never seen the drawbridge chain parts before, are those new, or are they from the darkest depths of Technic? The little brick-built chair in the nearest corner of Fortaan is very cute. I also spot a gray frog on the fountain. Overall, that's a nice set for parts.

The drawbridge-chain pieces actually aren't even Technic. They're the zip line pieces from the X-Treme Team and Res-Q themes in the late 90s.

Thanks for Pictures. I'm really happy that we are getting baby orcs. I'm sure that I will get all Heroica games and make my own levels. Can't wait to see a gameplay!

Thanks. First post has been updated. :classic:

Hm... I think I'll get one of these games, just for the parts, but I'm not sure which one. They all have pretty neat parts...

Yes! Heroica is looking very cool. It is worrying me though, I can't find that sweeps helmet! I know that these kinds of pictures never show everything, but it still worries me.

Thanks for the pics of the finished products! Heroica looks like a fun game, and the sets are actually quite nice for their scale. The best thing is that you can probably mix'n'match microfigs from other boardgames into the Heroica world. So far the selection of heroes for the game is rather stereotypical, after all. I spotted a barbarian (yellow), a knight (grey), a wizard (red), an old cleric (tan), a female (?) ranger (blue) and a thief (black).

The enemies are quite diverse, though, ranging from orcs to werewolves to the undead (and a ghost, even), not forgetting the giant spiders and bats. I don't think it will be that hard to implement the mummies from Ramses Pyramid or scorpions or snakes or pretty much anything you want into the game as well. There's definitely loads of potential in Heroica!

I've spoken to the local LEGO office. The gameplay is still confidential. It's much easier for them to hang on to that sort of info than the pictures, which are used to show to buyers. Word is though, it is very fun to play, and really quite simple.

Helmet? here you go! Stylishly modeled by the Goblin King from Fortaan Castle

It's probably only in the Fortaan Castle set, unfortunately. I want it too, but hopefully we'll see it in Kingdoms or something. A new helmet mould like that could definitely be used in other themes. :classic:

Yay, trans-light blue axe heads. I'm still excited.
