Peanuts Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 (edited) Day 6 will be up shortly! Things are starting to get even more fun! This very day or by tomorrow? Can´t wait since teh day before was so short... And fun like or fun like ? And for the mod or for the players? Edited October 31, 2010 by Peanuts
Zepher Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 Meant to be this very day, but that whole Halloween thing got in the way. So tomorrow!
Zepher Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 I would like to jusst put it here, since I have nowhere else to put it, that I like Walter Kovacs' username. I was just discussing one of my favorite books with a friend today and realized where the name came from. Subtle and very cool, my friend. sorry to take up game space, but I wanted to congratulate him. And I'm the host. I can do whatever I want. Anyone who denies it will be dead tomorrow.

It's one of my favorites, too. Now all I have to do is photograph my new sigfig.
Captain Genaro Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I just wanted to say that I am sorry for being silent the last day. I had a huge paper due for Brit. Lit. and it got in the way. I should be back now though!
Walter Kovacs Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I didn't think this belonged in the day thread, considereing we already have enough votes to convict and close the voting. And wasn't the name of the Mafia family Ronzini? Because it's spelled wrong in those PMs, and I do not misspell. Apparently the host isn't sure how to spell the family name, either: Day 1 Though we got three of the families, two of the families, the Ronzoni and Fedelini, have survived. Day 4 The citizens awoke to find Carrie Price dead. The police investigated her and found her to be a member of the Ronzini family.
Sandy Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Before anyone makes a fuss out of it, I can damn well reveal my allegiance before the next morning if my PMs can be quoted out in the open like Stash did. So any clamors for "playing a fair game" can be showed down the person's behind. So there. I was given an extremely challenging role to play, so it's a bit disappointing I couldn't play it through. This certainly was a different Mafia experience, I have to say, so thanks for that, Zepher.
Fugazi Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Indeed, as a novice player I am curious as to what the rules about quoting private conversations are. I know that Zepher's PMs are not to be quoted, but what about other players?
Quarryman Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Personally I'd say it's fair game to quote PMs from other players considering that it's up to the other players whether they believe that it's an actual PM being quoted or not. The only thing that should be trusted in a mafia game is posts by the host (and when the host is TinyPiesRUs, not even that )
Walter Kovacs Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 There's nothing explicitly in the rules about it, so I'd assume that it's legal. However, all players should be savvy enough to know that the quotation can be doctored, even fabricated entirely. I'd expect that's why you don't see it happening very often (ever?). Retribution for a doctored/fabricated quote would likely be swift and terrible. (and when the host is TinyPiesRUs, not even that ) There's a story here, and I'm not in on it. Care to share?
Professor Flitwick Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 There's a story here, and I'm not in on it. Care to share? I do believe it's a reference about the Witch Hunt mafia, which really was a witch hunt; there were no witches! Unfortunetly I never played in it, but I can tell you that most of the people survived, everybody was innocent, and all who died, be it through voting or night action, was revealed to be a Witch. Up until the conclusion that is, when TinyPies revealed there were never antagonistics in the game.
Quarryman Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 There's a story here, and I'm not in on it. Care to share? Yes, as Prof.Flitwick pointed out it's a reference to Witch Hunt mafia, where everyone we killed was announced by the inquisitor (which also was a character) to be a witch, often based on hilarious reasons like "look at the way he bleeds!" (think that was when Hinckley's character was killed). And for the record I tried to night-kill the inquisitor (I was the Vigilante), but TinyPies wouldn't let me.
Zepher Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 I have always thought PM's from other players are totally fair game! You gotta watch yourself. On that note, feel free to doctor PM's from people too. In my games, if the rules don't say no, take it as a yes. Within reason. And thanks for playing so far everyone!
Stash2Sixx Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Sandy, you played your megablocks off in what looked like it was a brutally difficult role. Kudos to you!
Sandy Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Sandy, you played your megablocks off in what looked like it was a brutally difficult role. Kudos to you! Thanks! Can't blame this girl for not trying, anyway.
sok117 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I didn't even know anything about the Night Watch before it was exposed during Day 3. And wasn't the name of the Mafia family Ronzini? Because it's spelled wrong in those PMs, and I do not misspell. Before anyone makes a fuss out of it, I can damn well reveal my allegiance before the next morning if my PMs can be quoted out in the open like Stash did. This certainly was a different Mafia experience, I have to say, so thanks for that, Zepher. you were saying? (sorry, couldn't help myself )
Sandy Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 you were saying? (sorry, couldn't help myself ) Heh, the family name was originally Ronzoni anyway.
CMP Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Unless the Godfather role gets passed on to other members, townies have won already. Hi, Sandy. I've saved you a spot in hell.
Rick Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Unless the Godfather role gets passed on to other members, townies have won already. Seems awfully premature, because as the rules state: 1. To win the game one group most outnumber the total sum of all the other groups. The town wins by killing all members of all mafia families. ... and we (at least I) have no clue just exactly how many scum players are left. I don't see why having a Godfather in a family is essential (unless you may know more, which in my view you shouldn't share after death). And even if the killer role would not pass on (anymore), a single scum can still win by manipulating the townies to vote for themselves, siding with a neutral player, etc. (I don't intend to refer specifically to this game in any way, just in general).
JCC1004 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Thanks! Can't blame this girl for not trying, anyway. Thanks for loving me mother! You are the best mom in the world, I'll always be here for you. Well it was fun while it lasted. I wonder what I was watching....
CMP Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Thanks for loving me mother! You are the best mom in the world, I'll always be here for you. Well it was fun while it lasted. I wonder what I was watching.... Er...isn't Alice Nutter your mother?
Zepher Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Just hoping for a few more night actions! Thanks for making this so fun to host so far, I hope you are all having fun too. Also, a quick reminder, keep those night actions coming in! Don't want to waste them at this ppoint in the game.
Inconspicuous Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Don't want to waste them at this ppoint in the game. Oh no! He's caught the dreaded stutter! Vote him off!
