So I was looking at Brickset. On the list of 2011 sets I see two that catch my eye. "Lighthouse Island" & "Hillside House". Anyone have info on these?I'm guessing they're probably summer releases...so there's no news, I'm sure. Figured I'd ask. They sure sound like goodies though. Lego is going quite rustic this year with the Creator houses...first Log Cabin, then Hillside House.

I believe these have been discussed down in the Creator 2011 thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=46511

I like the lighthouse because it's so unique, and I like how it's wooden at the entrance.

Apart from the door itself isn't the house part made of stone? Also, it seems that the said door cannot be fully opened if the lamp is hanging above it. I suppose good looks go over playability in Creator... Still a very nice looking set, however. If I was more into themes set in the modern times I would certainly buy this.

It seems that there's a hinge part above the door of Hillside House? Doesn't make sense to me - even if the ground floor was hinged, it could open only a little because of the grill and the tree.

Sorry bout that. I've seen the Log Cabin reviewed in the town section...so I assumed that my topic would fit there, too.

I think its the door that hinges.

If you look at the opening you can see that its a pair of doors that both hinge open with tiles on the top.

The hilltop house may actually be worth buying after all (its got tan and red, both colors I have enough of to do something usefull with) plus some potentially usefull green bits.

Will need to see a part inventory to be sure how good it is though (and it may get pushed to the back of the list by Alien Conquest, Harry Potter and others)

So is it correct to assume that the Hillside House did not make an appearance? Strange-- for whatever reason, I expected to see that one before the Lighthouse.

Also, it seems logical that TLG would put the Lighthouse on shelves at the same time as the City Harbour sets-- so even though they're not all together under the same branding, it feels like part of the collection. Thoughts?

Wonder what happened to the house...

Yes I Agree

I've seen 2H Creator sets photos and I've seen the yellow car. I noticed that it has the steering, any other function?

IMO it's illogical.

The series 3 fisherman would look perfect in that set. I imagine him sitting right next to the cooker with the fish on it.

But that seagull is somewhat ginormous compared to the minifig... I'd be scared.

Agreed... I kind of think if LEGO had given it a different beak, it might have made a better pelican.

Here's a high-res image of the Cool Cruiser:

I notice it has transparent headlight bricks. Previously, those were only available in the Grand Emporium. It's a lovely set overall, even if it's a bit simple compared to the Cool Convertible a few years back.

Me too. Seemed nice that hillside house. Well, we just have too wait a bit longer I guess.

I will get one for sure. I was not impressed by the log cabin. Also the lighthouse does not appeal that much to me, although it looks good.

And what happened to the pictures of the hillside house anyway?

I guess it is a bit smaller. But, important thing, it steers  .

Ahhh... that lighthouse looks brilliant. Getting one of those for sure! I quite like the "cool cruiser" as well. :classic:

That house is a perfect addition to anyone's city or town layout.....and it has a door bell...aw, you gotta love Lego's sense of humour !

A real mans pad....why ? A big huge giant BBQ !

Though the only thing missing is a shed with tools and home-brewing gear in it....aw, well that's what MOCing is for right ?

Might get this one....need to know what features are on the inside....like a more realistic staircase !

Brick On !

I'm semi-impressed with this set, although I doubt I'll be buying it. Still, something I'm looking forward to are better pics of the "B" and "C" models, since the ability to build the set into three different configurations is one of the main selling points for Creator sets.

I'm a wee bit disappointed in how small the "hillside" is, but I guess anything else wouldn't be economical. Make it too steep and you'd be getting more "hill" than "house"!

A sound-brick doorbell is a clever idea, even though (unlike light bricks) sound bricks don't really add anything to a model visually.

One thing I definitely like is the car port. And I'm impressed with what can be seen of the "B" and "C" models so far from the box pic. As usual, they seem genuinely unique in design.
