Wow, nice review.

I received my "Buroow" yesterday and WOW again... what a fantastic set. Love building it, the angles and the small details are great.

And I agree, Ginny is the best minifig ever! I think all Weasley's are gonna hit my top 10.

Can't wait to unpack the five other boxes tonight :cry_happy: will ba a long day in the office be4 I get home.

Regards,

What a great review Clone O’Patra!

I have a good time in reading it!

You like this set, and we know it. You really give me envy to have it! I have ordered mine before your review, but now, I can’t wait the next week to receive it!

Like you said, it looks more like a dollhouse than an action set. And just for that, I want to thank TLC! I mean, those more “realistic” sets are missing a lot for me. I know that TLC target ars kids, who want actions and actions! But as a child, I didn’t care about the action aspect. And sets from the 90’s weren’t so action oriented, which was good for me. I have always preferred some “quite” sets with nice display details than more unrealistic sets due to the integration of action features.

If you have to pick just one HP set, take this one!

The selection of minifigures is really great! And all of the new hairpieces are gathered in this set! What can we expect more?

This set is also good for city mocers with the selection of pieces and accessories like dark red roof slopes, a pig (it’s so cute, we can’t have enought of them!), stoves, glasses, cup, a kitchen area…

The design of this set is really outstanding! I mean, it is made with a mix of pieces and colors. But the result is coherent. The general design is really great. I don’t have seen the HP movies in which we can the Burrow, but looking at that set, it is similar to what I have imagined. At the beginning it was certainly a small house. But with all those children, the Weasley used their magic to create some new rooms, using what they had on hand.

Reading the books, you really want to spend your holidays in this Burrow, playing all day long with Ron and the other Weasley brothers, eat the cooking of Ma W, listening to Pa W stories! In the books, the burrow is really family, rustic and cosy too.

And this set perfectly express this sweet feeling!

Wow, what an awesome review! Seeing those minifigs from up close, well... what can I say. I simply must own this set - and this is coming from someone who actually dislikes HP sets! Great job mate ;]

If you're a boy, you shouldn't be on this forum, right?

if you're refering to the fact that i'm male, why shouldn't i be using this forum? i'm sure other male people use it! if you're refering to the fact that i said boy, which sounds quite childish, i'm almost an adult. plus, LEGO is a children's toy, so why shouldn't children be allowed to use this site!? SOMEONE REVIEW THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS PLEASE!!!

No no no, I didn't mean it like that! There is a 18+ only rule on this forum, that is all!

Not sure to say which is better, this or Diagon Alley.

In regards to the 18 and up rule, I have seen some interesting things on this forum. I saw a post about a custom clone in the customs forum, which led me to the poster's youtube channel. In the video showcasing the clone, the person talking sounded like they were 8!

No, it's just if you act like an adult. I think there's an admin who's 16.

Another excellent review Cone O'Patra!

The new figs really are something, still can't get over it!

Loving Bellatrix's new hair piece along with Fenrir Greyback.

The house is okay, love the pic 'lover always find a way'

The stickers are actually quite nice, I really like the Chudley Cannons one.

Thanks again for the review!

Wait wait wait. Who voted for "Like having the Crutiatis Curse performed on me?" Was that person serious in voting that way, and, if so, may I ask why?

I can understand if you think the set is average, but terrible?

Ah, you're right. Since we moved to the new board I have never become accustomed to all the new features. So now I know.

Lordofdragons, do you really hate this set?

I have received my copy of this great set yesterday and built it asap!

But I have to admit that my pleasure during the building porcess had one big issue that had never happened to me before...

It was the first time that I can't connect a LEGO brick to another one!

My set has 2 2x3 dark red slopes that are very hard to clic on other pieces if there is another piece aside.

Pictures are better than words in this case :

slope_problem02.jpg

As you can see, there is a very important space between those two solpes. The left one is allright but not the ight one. On one side, you have this free space, with doesn't look good. But if you try to put a brick on the other side, you can't! it's like there is a small translation of the piece, that can be verified by a quick look at its back :

slope_problem01.jpg

As you can see, I have made two colored round at each side, and one of them go "out" of the piece, showing that this side is thiner than the other. All the inside of the piece has translated...

So, after a closer look at my 2x3 dark red bricks, it seems that the bricks with number 2 22, 4 22, 6 22 and 8 22 are bad molded (I've got one of each in my Burrow set). I also have got 1 22, 5 22 and two 7 22. The pieces with odd numer don't have this problem...

What a shame!

In general, I have a very bat feeling about the quality of the pieces of this set...

Another strange thing comes from a 1x6 tan arch... It seems that TLC has made a new mold for it...

On top, the old classic one, on bottom, the new one...

Nothing more to say... :hmpf_bad:

Great review! I have this set and it is indeed wonderful. I will probably be demolishing the burrow and making it into an addition for my medieval village set. The figs are awesome though I do wish Ron had been included. My only complaint: I was a bit annoyed at the amount of stickerage...

I'm sorry to hear this indeed! It can't be a universal problem, since all of the pieces in my set were just fine, but that is a shame.

Also, I got the old arch piece, and not the new one.

I would send an email to LEGO customer service about your problems if you haven't already done so; they are always nice about that sort of thing.

Any comments on the alternate build, yet? If someone got the alternate build instructions, could you post a picture of what it's supposed to look like?
