Kiotu Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) Woah. I'd buy all of these guys if they didn't have uber-lame names. -K Edited January 14, 2010 by Kiotu Quote
Algernon Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) As I said in the other topic, since the quality of the storyline is not a matter of objective fact, assertive claims like these add nothing to the debate. Nobody here is engaging in hate trips - we are simply expressing our opinions, and if you can't learn to respect them, than you don't have any place here. If you want to share what you feel about Hero Factory, fine, but enough with the "Bionicle is dying and you guys are silly for thinking otherwise" crap. Bionicle's quality or lack of quality is no more factual than Star Wars's, or Harry Potter's, or any other fantasy or science fiction story, as the quality is almost totally in the eye of the beholder. Seriously, we get it, Algenon. You hate the story, and that's fine, but that's an opinion, not a fact. I happen to like the story, and that's also an opinion. It boggles my mind how some people on this site simply can't or refuse to understand this basic truth, nor why it seems to pain you guys to hear us praise anything Greg has ever done. If you can't stand tollerate comments like "I thought 2009 was a great year for story" without replying in the manner you currently are, then again, you don't belong here or on any other dicussion forum that values respect and differing opinions. First of all, I had only read the first couple of pages and gleaned what I did from the initial fan reaction to the names only- I can see that the attitudes have lightened a little now that the pics have been released. My bad on that part. To the rest of it, I guess I just have little patience for the typical fanboy mindset of "if it has a Bionicle label thrown onto it, I'll defend it until the cows come home". But I have every right to point out that I don't like the story. Do me the same respect you ask of me- I get to dislike the Bionicle story as much as you get to like it. But I know what you'll say next, and that's that I should express my opinions with a more respectful tone. I think your tone could use a little tempering as well- but I'll drop it if you drop it. I'm pretty sure that I've argued with you about the story several times (though I'm not sure). We won't change each other's minds, so I guess there's no point wasting our energy. In the end this is just an internet forum that has but a minuscule effect on our lives. Lets not take it too seriously. Oh and for the record, the generic argument that "it's all in the eye of the beholder" really doesn't hold water... but I won't bother going into that. EDIT: Those pics are looking good. I'd be able to take this theme WAY more seriously if it wasn't called Hero Factory. Edited January 14, 2010 by Algernon Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Is that me or torso looks like one piece? Quote
Brickthing Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Thanks for the pictures and information Zip and Wrack! It looks like the other 2 elements are Metal and Sonic. I wouldn't have guessed Sonic from the set though... Also from the descriptions, maybe these guys aren't human, because it says they're designed and constructed. Perhaps they're androids/cyborgs? From the pictures, it looks like there could be 2 different limbs afterall. The legs would definitely be fixed at their angle to fit the leg armour, and the arms are mostly at a different smaller angle. Is that me or torso looks like one piece? 2 pieces - the chestplate and the back. The hero sign is probably a clip on trans-piece like the Mata-head-eye-stalks. Quote
cheesey skrall Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 FIRST PARAGRAPH FROM WIZARDWORLD.COM: Welcome to the place where real heroes are built! In this next generation story in LEGO® construction, heroes are designed, equipped and built depending on specific missions that beam in from across the galaxy and across time. Then they are dispatched in hero pods to defeat evil and solve a variety of missions. And this is a new theme?! this is how bionicle kinda started (washed onto the beach of mata nui in a pod). And they defeat evil. They're toa with human names!!!!1!!! Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I love them. Only one complaint and that is that there arms need some armour on them. But otherwise I love them. I must say, part from the cheeesy names, this looks really good. Quote
starstreak Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 If you didn't tell me this is a new creation from LEGO, I would've thought it was another Bionicle series. Quote
Bundalings Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I kinda like these guys. Those feet are awesome. I wish we had pics of the other sets, too... "Hero Pod"? Makes me think that the canisters will once again have story importance. *waits for someone else to post them on BZP* ~Bunda Quote
Artahn Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Anyone else see the $8 price tag? I called that. Now that we don't have a story, they can put more into the sets. I mean, compare these to the stars and the Agori and tell me what's better. Quote
80 Dollar Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 They look great but they are not very usable piece wise. Is the foot and leg armor the same piece or is it just the CGI playing with my eyes? Quote

Artahn Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 They look great but they are not very usable piece wise.Is the foot and leg armor the same piece or is it just the CGI playing with my eyes? Its connected. There is no other way of getting it on to Avtoran limbs. Quote
Dunjohn Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm not a Bionicle fan. I had been keeping an eye on this, but maybe someone with a better eye for Bionicle could enlighten me: Are there any differences between this and the old line, other than thematic ones? The feet look bigger and more manga-esque, but mechanically? Right now, to me, it just looks like Bionicle rebranded. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Minus the utterly ridiculous names, I don't see much to complain about here. Quote

Anyone else remember how Lego promised more articulated sets? That, along with the fact that they used the new bent limbs instead of the avtoran pre-bent limbs, makes me think these new ones have click-joints (maybe a smaller version of how the KK sets articulated.) Biotoakid Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm glad there not $15 for 15 pieces like Ben 10... Quote
Cakeman Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Atually, I've never bought a single Bionicle-set but I might reconsider with these, the legs look great and just maybe its possible to integrate in other moc's. I'm staying positive and I'm curious for more info and pictures. Quote
ultimate antrozek Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Funny...I don't see any pic there Quote
Biotoakid Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 The only thing I like about them is red and black hands. And the masks.... Quote
Phantoka_Chirox Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I like every single detail bout' them Quote
ultimate antrozek Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I still don't see anything. the only thing that appears is the pic of Stormer Quote
