~Wrack'n'Ruin~ Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 This twitter contest reminds me of 'strong internet penetretation' in the retailer's catalog. Eww. Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Did anyone save the Wizard World pics before they went kablooey? Oh, and I like how the characters are just copypaste from the traditional 6Team. -Ikk Quote
Aho Midarezaki Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 All I have to say is this. I have seen the future, and it is eh pretty cool. These guys are simple yet I dunno, they have a detailed elegance about them. Quote
ShaddowCroc Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Huh . . . The story actually doesn't sound too bad. Thank the gods they aren't just Humans in mechanical suits . . . Quote
Leugi Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It seems to me they won't be humans, but actually some kind of cyborgs with fancy names... I'll probably get the white, the silver and the green one... They're interesting, they get me to wonder how will this theme keep on going in the next series. So right now we get these fancy normal heroes... what might we get next year for this theme? (I'd love some kind of evil titan that controls the time!) Quote
The Alchemyst Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Mmm, story is better than I thought it would be. Maybe we don't see all 6 v 4 [or 5 or 6, depending on if Rotor and Von Nebula are bad guys], and see a couple of them dispatched to each villain? Naming team totally dropped the ball though. Every single time. -.- At least cutting down the characters at one point could make there be more interaction? Maybe? I hope? And a Non-fire leader. Woot. But the personalities use the same words over and over. "Competitive" appears a lot. Make these 6 fight each other in a competition against each other or something please. D: Stringer, Bulk and Surge look good, as long as Stringer and Bulk's weapons aren't as cluttered as they seem. =/ Just realized the Leg Armor could have some sexy uses in MOCs as starfighter wings or something like that Motorcycle piece. cheesey skrall Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 depending on if Rotor and Von Nebula are bad guys Both of them are bad guys, so its 6 v 6. Not sure about the Furno bike and drop ship.... Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Both of them are bad guys, so its 6 v 6. Not sure about the Furno bike and drop ship.... And we will probabley get canister sized good guys next wave. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I kinda like these guys. Those feet are awesome. I wish we had pics of the other sets, too..."Hero Pod"? Makes me think that the canisters will once again have story importance. *waits for someone else to post them on BZP* ~Bunda Kind of like the Toa Canisters, but the way it talks about "dispatching" them to various locales, I'm almost reminded of the zoomable Throwbot canisters. In fact, there's quite a Throwbot/Slizer feel to the tools, although following in BIONICLE's footsteps the tools use new pieces. I probably won't be collecting these-- the story is only sorta enticing, and MOCing isn't a major concern of mine in college-- but I look forward to following the new line's development the way I do with most LEGO themes. Zorro Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I am very happy for the Bionicle fans that this new line resembles Bionicle in many ways . Looks like Hero Factory has great potential too! Quote
prateek Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Nice pics. They look better than I expected. Quote
FiletOFish Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 the amount of complaining and whining in the beginning pages is just embarrassing. if only i could slap some of you through the internet. these sets look far better than the past bionicle sets in the stores. but, you have to keep in mind that computer generated Lego images typically look far better than their real life counterparts. Artahn Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) ...keep in mind that computer generated Lego images typically look far better than their real life counterparts. *shows picture of Lego Star Wars set, "Twilight"* *shows picture of stars* *shows pictures of everything Lego has made in the past decade* Edited January 14, 2010 by Artahn Quote
Vezon Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I love them. Only one complaint and that is that there arms need some armour on them. But otherwise I love them.I must say, part from the cheeesy names, this looks really good. Actually, Stormer, Blaze, Bulk, and Stringer all seem to have armor over their weapon arm. Quote

Well have you checked BZP yet? Go there and slap like 80% of them, they deserve it. Too bad they can only see those little impulse sets, the bigger ones would've stopped the whining that they are only getting only 6 new Agori. Quote
dviddy Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 From the pictures, it looks like there could be 2 different limbs afterall. The legs would definitely be fixed at their angle to fit the leg armour, and the arms are mostly at a different smaller angle. I think it's still just the one piece. See how the wrist is angled a little further down than the rest of the arm, which is at a ninety-degree angle? And see how the legs are set so they kind of look bent, but the armour stops it from looking too bent? The ball joint that goes back on the wrist would allow them to attach feet back there (if they needed to), and with the big pieces of leg armour, not make the sets look so ridiculously hunched like the terrible Avtoran design. Quote
Bfahome Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Woah. I'd buy all of these guys if they didn't have uber-lame names.-K Why? The names don't affect the set design. :| They look great but they are not very usable piece wise.Is the foot and leg armor the same piece or is it just the CGI playing with my eyes? Its connected. There is no other way of getting it on to Avtoran limbs. The foot is a separate piece; don't forget, the limbs are new molds. Quote
Tereglith Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Bleah. I WANT KNEES AND ELBOWS. If you aren't gonna give me knees and elbows, then give me a gearbox. Don't give me neither, LEGO! And the ones with knees and elbows are gonna cost like 20 bucks. Looks like I'll just have to keep playing with my old Bionicle. Quote

Kiotu Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Why? The names don't affect the set design. :| Idunnolol. But I'd find it pretty embarrassing to go through a line ringing up "Preston Stormer"... I wish they were just named their "surnames". It'd remind me of the Throwbot era, with simple names. Also, where does the leg armour connect? It kind of looks like maybe on the foot, or the knee, but I can't see an axle in either of those places... -K Quote
The Alchemyst Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 ^Top Thigh-like part. Gonna go ahead and assume there's an axle hole there. Quote

EDIT: Beat :/ Also, is it safe to assume that Blaze has Mata red and not the Metru color? Edited January 14, 2010 by Vezon Quote
Darkness Falls Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I don't like them. They suck.-Omi Lego has done something quite interesting- they're made the impulse sets into the main characters- thus making the poor quality of the impulse sets more money and making them win. I look forward to the boxed figures reveal. Quote
