I'm not a Bionicle fan, in fact, I never like it...however, take this as an opinion from the outside: HERO theme is just like BIONICLE!

wth with this theme?! I expected something...new, not a kind of fusion between bionicle and the slize theme!!

I don't know if Bionicle fans feel like this, but I feel disappointed, specially when there are such amazing sets and new themes for this year.

Well it's mainly when they're in large metal suits that I have trouble.

Because the metal suits are usually for fighting, not for broadcasting "HAY IM A GIRL".

I totally agree here. But still, you can't please the fanbase, really. Making sets look "non-feminine" will make some freak out, while making female characters slimmer or *cough* like Roodaka will make the feminazi part of the fanbase spaz out. I prefer having people freak out over non-femininity, thanks :P

(Besides, on the subject of Bionicle, do biomechanical robot people even care that much about gender? They don't grow up from babies and therefore don't have puberty and therefore don't grow differently than one another :S)

i waited a while to respond to these sets just to think carefully of my opinions. the heroes are all right. they are impulse sets and they're good for that. i might buy Jimmi stringer and Duncan bulk, and the bad guys still interest me.yes the names bother me and they should have stuck with the surnames but i'm not so bothered anymore.

oh and by the way preston is a strange name, why would an robotic intergalactic superhero be named after a town in Lancashire.

i can't here it without thinking of...

I'd have to say I'm fairly relieved to see these. I never got into the Bionicle storyline, and I understand those who were really into it are rightly upset to see it go. However, I did start getting into Bionicle after a few years of avoiding it and love the system, and how it is both a part of Lego, and something separate. It took seeing Brean's crations for the first time at Brickfest 07 to get me to re-evaluate the series as more than just a curiosity.

So when I saw Ben 10, I bought one to see what the parts would be like, and was sorely disappointed in simplicity of most of the pieces. I was worried that the new Hero Factory would be of a similar more simplistic make, but these photos at least show me that playability, and especially the variety of building possibilities will be similar to, and compatible with my current collection, both in function and style.

I would like to see some larger sets, but for now my outlook is fairly positive.

... plus I really want some of those weapon elements.

Dear members whom are participating in this thread,

I have commenced necessary investigations with regards to this matter. Kindly ignore the rude statements which he have made earlier to all, and we will seek to resolve this in the most appropriate manner by the Eurobricks Staff.

Meanwhile, kindly continue the discussion in a mature fashion.

Thanks.

Biotoakid:

On to Hero Factory though. Well, some of the pieces look like they could be interesting. However, the sets as wholes look... like hot garbage. Dulled down Mega bloks- inspired remnants of the Bionicle empire that used to be. :sadnew:

EDIT: For the record, I don't want the above to read like I'm imposing my opinion on my fellow members. It is simply that, my opinion

To add on something into this discussion,

It's fine for members to give your honest views and share with the rest, whether its positive or negative as long you are able to do it in a constructive and mature manner instead of behaving extremely rudely or even resort to attack each other opinions with their words. This is totally unnecessary and unwanted, if you want to do that, then get out of Eurobricks and don't come back. Settle those petty fights out there. As long you are a member here, you are to abide the house rules.

Learn to respect each other, and I really hope this is the last kind of nonsense that I see in here...

Tell that to Primus.

He's been making some nice MOCs with those pieces.

Makes me want to get one.

For 1 USD the piece those things better be incredibly good for MOCs. So good that you instantly become the ultimate MOC artist just by using any of them in a creation. Oh and they should also be covered in platinum and cure cancer.

It's bio-nockles all over again and apparently you can't sell those without pre-cooking a storyline and saying they fight evil, or something. Oh well, at least their names can be pronounced this time.

On a positive note, the blue guy has some greenery is its paws that could be nice to make some bushes or jungle. If it comes off its handle, that is - I remember getting the big Bionicle castle (well, 2nd hand for 10 euros, worth it for all the dark red) and being disappointed that the big flames were attached to the flamethrowers or whatever tool it was supposed to be they were on.

Come on, I can't be the only one who actually really likes these sets. Look at them, they are fabulous! The legs are amazing aswell. The bad guys are works of art!

I couldn't agree more. While I'm not planning to get these guys, I will "persuade" my brother to get either Thunder or Meltdown.

It is not necessary to use derogatory names against a theme to reinforce your view. I think purchasing a bad quality product like the Bionicle battlesets or these things for a single part is always a bad deal and it gives LEGO the wrong message. Also, isn't it possible to order the part individually from s@h?

I totally agree. I want to get the new pink parts in Chromastone, but I don't wanna buy the set. I rely on Bricklink these days.

I'm here... I'M HERE!!!

If you couldn't read that, it was because I'm being blocked out by the rest of the community of haters.

I also like the sets, we should also consider that they're mostly "matorans" (in style) and not really canister sets...

Which makes me wonder, how might the next good guys wave be? I'm pretty sure they will be canister sized, with some interesting parts...

Oh, and the villains are simply amazing.
