Omicron Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Hey looks its a new fire bionicle...... wait. -Omi Quote
dviddy Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 That torso is so much lovelier than any of the other Impulse build torsos have been. Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Wow, that video was amazing...even thought I like this red character the least I still enjoyed seeing those new pieces. Those arms are bugging me so much! Are they bendable or not?! Well, seeing how they're not two pieces joined, and are instead one piece, I'd say it's most likely more promotional work, like in Bionicle's earlier years. It's most likely going to come out as an L shape, in my opinion. Quote
BioHero Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Woah, nice trailer. Now we see how the armour is attached, making the legs and leg armour more useful then they seemed at first. However, his weapon still looks lame to me. BIOHERO Quote
prateek Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Hah, so it's not even guys in suits. Just straight robots.Trailer was neat for showing the construction. Overuse of the word "hero" was a bit annoying though. :| I agree. If they are just robots, what's the point of those names. Quote
~Wrack'n'Ruin~ Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 The point of the robots having human names is to make them more personable to buyers/people being rescued. Duh. Quote
william blaze Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I was planning on getting Duncan Bulk and Preston Stormer but now I'm going to get Duncan Bulk and William Blaze after seeing the commercial. I can't wait for these to come out. Quote

_shaddow_ Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Look at the picture i've posted, you can see the socket on the left feet is clearly separated from the foot. VBBN said: No really, that looks nothing like Optimus's Swords. Exactly what i tought, too. Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I just noticed something. The tower in the video reminds me a lot of the hospital from an episode of Doctor Who called New Earth, but the structure's a bit more curvy. Hopefully this line will last longer than most lines do. Because there are now more opportunities to have new elements, this means we'll see a lot more interesting parts. Quote
Bfahome Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 So they are rescusing humans? ;] Possibly. Or probably at least people who are of similar language and/or culture to humans, again to connect them with the buyer. Quote
cheesey skrall Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 No really, that looks nothing like Optimus's Swords. Ok, I guess they don't, but they would still work on a optimus moc, wouldn't they? Quote
Aanchir Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Hey looks its a new fire bionicle...... wait.-Omi I personally feel that the style of these sets is very different from anything we've seen in BIONICLE. I know that by saying this, I'm probably opening up for some derisive reply that I just want it to be different, or that it's a figment of my imagination, or something to that effect, but I still feel that this is about as different in feel from BIONICLE as Knights' Kingdom II was from traditional castle sets (or, for that matter, real-life medieval design styles). It's a stylistic difference, not so much a conceptual one. In this case it could be partly due to the number of curves in the armor which are fluid, but not as obliquely geometric as original Toa Nuva armor or Toa Mata masks-- although looking in that direction I find that the Hau Nuva and Akaku Nuva, both 2002 BIONICLE parts, had the same sort of soft contours. So I guess it might be a matter of which look defines the "feel" of BIONICLE in my eyes or someone else's. Concerning the names, it could always be something like in AVATAR where ordinary people upload their consciousness onto the robot bodies. I kind of got that feel from the synopsis in the first post, although that's from misinterpreting the subject of a certain sentence. Quote
ShaddowCroc Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I really think this line would work so well if it was just vaguely connected to BIONICLE. That city? They could so easily turn it into the futuristic Metru Nui. Then I'd definitely buy them. The sets still look a lot better this way than the promo images had them looking. Quote

When I see my recently acquired Tahu Mistika, he is already in the same style as these things. I guess when you compare HF to 2001 Bionicle it is quite different but compare it to 2007+ bionicle and at least I can't see much difference. It is actually hard for me to look at that screen shot and not think of 2009 glatorian... I just noticed something. Because there are now more opportunities to have new elements, this means we'll see a lot more interesting parts. Why is it that lines that could be used in so many settings tend to be the ones that last the least? When you use logic, it would appear that the opposite is true, and that they can last more time if they are more flexible in settings. But for some reason that does not seem to be the case... cheesey skrall Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 It's clever that they've mixed up the element powers, like blue is electricity (a robot controlling water can't be good for their circuitry). Jimi has a sonic blaster, so he must be sonics. Also bringing in the new element(?)....... Metal!! The hereos are kinda like the police, going round the universe beating the crap out of criminals (lol). I think that natalie breez should have giant fans as a weapon, as she controls wind (judging by the name) and Preston to have a coolant tank on his back and tubes going into his weapon arm. Is mark surge a new blue? Quote
Vezon Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Is mark surge a new blue? I think that's Mata blue. Quote

Trexxen Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Sorry that the text is so small, but...I think these arms might be mobile. =D ~Trexxen Quote
Artahn Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I'm still pulling for a twist reminiscent of the movie "The Incredibles" Paraphrase: "...Because when everyone can be a superhero, no one will be." Quote

Also, look at the other arm's elbow. It's a bit too smooth to be two pieces. Quote
