I think I'll only be getting Bulk (best torso shape, as opposed to the other's top-heavy ones), Blaze Bike (Discounted to $20 o less), and possibly Meltdown (I'm really skeptical about the villains). Humanoid titans I've yet to decide.

Despite my initial reaction to the line (which wasn't that great); those new pictures are making me re-think my decision not to pick any of them up. To tell the truth, I think I might just get Von Nebula/Rotor... on sale, of course. They're both pretty appealing, as far as recolors/pieces goes; and I see a lot of potential for them as actual sets, were they to receive the proper modifications... and here I'm thinking that, because Bionicle is ending; LEGO wouldn't be getting any more of my money. So much for that. :P

Furno Bike is the only other one I'm interested in; again, because of the insane amount of recolors (Orange Bohrok faceplate!? Metru Red Mata Foot?!); and the build... which, surprisingly; is quite nice. All of the others are completely overpriced, in my opinion; as well as too simplistic for my tastes... even the dropship, while visually appealing; costs way too much for my liking - or my wallet's. So, I'll have to see about getting a good deal on those two (three, maybe) and go from there.

Overall, HF isn't terrible, IMO; it's just... lackluster.

I don't know where do you see metru red mata feet but not on furno's legs. These are mata red, IMO.

All villains have a first name too.

On the sides of the boxes.

I just noticed in pics the thunder first name at the moment

Tonnerre Thunder

Tonnerre is a word in french that means : "Strong. Formidable. Demon, Thunder"

Maybe it's just his french name. but even so...Tonnerre sounds better name than Thunder.

Tonnerre is pronunced To-nier

I doubt it's a first name. It makes sense that they'd have translated names, since these are English words, not the usual "random-letters-with-an-x-or-k-at-the-end" of BIONICLE.

Meltdown doesn't have a Glatorian head. What. (look to the far right, his face is attached to a basic ball socket)

Also, finally I know how the armor on Corroder's back is attached. One of these. Awesome.

ALSO Furno Bike has two! launchers! :D (look between the wheel and the orange bohrok tooth on the far side)

I find it ironic and slightly annoying that only once Bionicle is over do the Thornax balls (in the case of World Racers) and launchers come in sets in greater quantities than one pair. It's the 2009 vehicle sets that should've had lots of Thornax launchers. :sceptic:

It would have been really weird if Meltdown ''had'' used a Glatorian head, especially since he made quite blatant use of a Barraki eye for his only visible eye.

Meh. You only really needed one Thornax for the Action Figure Game, and I think that most of the vehicles had all the weapons they really needed. If you were to give any of the 2009 vehicles additional Thornax launchers, where would you put them?

I really do like this line. But i miss functions with gears. Like, say, the bohrohk smile_tahnok.gif. My god, they were brilliant! and they still are. i remember when i was younger playing with them. sure it was a simple gimmick, but it was cool. you could fold them up into a ball, hang them from the top of the canisters, and the kraana flinging action!!1! And what do the new ones do? Stand there and shoot a green, reused ball :hmpf_bad:

And people wonder why I army-build them.

THE SWARM MUST GROW.

...I wasn't too much a fan of the Bohrok, though, namely because the competitive play aspect of the 2001 stuff only slightly carried over. After all, hitting the eyes at the right angle and with enough force using Tahu's firesword-swinging action, trying to make the Krana fly out, is next to impossible. At least it wasn't hard to knock a Rahi's masks off...

Sometimes these days I get my Bohrok down off the shelf to take measurements of their parts (that sounds compromising  ) or marvel at their spherical-ness, but rarely to actually play with them. But that might have more to do with my age than with the quality of the sets.

Hero Factory kind of disappoints me because, what with only villains and vehicles having launchers, we lose the competitive play that finally came back in full last year in the form of the BIONICLE Action Figure Game. Competitive play is one of the only reasons I care about action features (Muaka and Kane-Ra were magnificently designed, although there is something to be said for the decidedly non-aggressive Pewku function), and the heavy, forceful Zamors don't really lend themselves to that sort of play, at least for me.

here you can see the top of the Furno Bike's box and it says BIONICLE and has a list, intresting huh?

How curious. And from BZP's other pics that show the box, it doesn't seem to be prelim, so it's not a stand-in for the "From the makers of BIONICLE characters" emblem we've seen on the front of boxes. Wonder what that's going to be...

I'd guess perhaps it might be a list of the things that separate the BIONICLE building system from regular LEGO (ball-and-socket joints, pin-and-beam structures, etc.), but that seems unlikely since the items on the list seem to be standardized, like set names and numbers. I doubt they'd advertise the BIONICLE Stars on a HF box, so it must not be listing actual BIONICLE sets. But would LEGO really just straight-out call HF sets BIONICLE when they go out of their way to avoid that with the front-of-box emblem?

Of course, the answers to this will probably have to wait until the actual sets come out, since I doubt we'll see any better box pics than the ones we got at ToyFair otherwise. The top edges of the box don't have very high priority in LEGO's official images. =P
