Aanchir Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Oy... eleven bucks for the "impulse" sets? And 18 for the "canister" sets? And I thought the prices for Star Wars sets were bad.... Of course, these could only be the prices on that particular website... but if that is how much they will retail for in regular stores, I think TLC"s lost a lot of potential customers. LEGO doesn't charge prices people aren't likely to pay for the product. Meanwhile, the HF canister dudes can't even remotely be considered "impulse"-- their parts are extremely bulky and probably require complex multi-piece molds (which up the price per part). A LEGO "impulse set" nowadays is typically a box that's at most three inches by three inches. And the MSRP for those is five dollars. The moderate size, complex molds, and panoply of new pieces in Hero Factory sets aren't even comparable price-wise. Quote
ultimate antrozek Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) Von Nebula I tried a different style on Hero factory characters. here ya got Von Nebula. Oh yeah. and HF: Tears of a war machine was cancelled due to this year school. now school is like "TIME TO GET SERIOUS!"· - Sigma Edited March 12, 2010 by 3D Brickthing The picture is a bit too big for the topic Quote

vexorian Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) Don't judge the new line based on some random prizing. Yes, judge it by the official prizing instead, although that one is terrifying as well. edit: 2 system impulse sets = 2 minifigs plus 30 pieces for one dollar less (I am looking at my beloved K-9 bot right now) . Sure, the molds are not even comparable for the price comparison to be fair - the system impulse got pieces that are worth a lot more due to their usefulness... Pretty much all system sets these days are smaller than Bionicle sets when they're in the same price range. The only one that didn't follow this rule was Exo-Force, but now that that's gone.... Quote

I built Von Nebula way back, testing building instructions, and I really like this set. Maybe not on that high level of Tuma, but still. Quote

Look at the new pictures, they are official, they tell the truth about how the products will look like. But Skrall armor, I have no idea where that appear in red. Do you see that in any picture ? Do you see that in any picture ? If you look in this picture, you can see that XPlode's Skrall armor appears to be red, or red mixed with black. Great to hear that they're finalized, though. Not so great if it turns out to be black instead of red. =/ -Mesonak Quote

Bfahome Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Aw I was hoping Meltdown's hoses would end up being the trans-color-injected kind. :[ But Corroder has black tri-axles so it's kk. :3 Quote
Front Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 A Skrall armor I would guess was something that appeared back on the 2009 Skrall set. I might be blind, but I don't see any on Xplode. Quote

I prefer to call it Vorox armor, since you can see it on Vorox better. It was used on the Skrall set's chest and thighs and on the Vorox set's upper arms and thighs, and it looks like there's a piece on XPlode's chest (you can see a bit of it to the left of his right "tusk"). Great to hear, VBBN. This makes me very happy. -Mesonak Quote
