Do try and get a picture of the teaser (maybe borrow from a friend?), I'd love to see it!

Went to our cantina for lunch, and here the basket scene was on a A2 sized poster.

It's already on BZP:

Also, before anyone says it, I doubt that's Meltdown. His "tentacles" look like they're more of a representation of radioactive goo.

Hey uh, the site is up.

I love Preston's testimonial. "[What, you want me to talk about why they should call the Hero Factory? That's a no-brainer. We get the job done]. Call the Hero Factory. We get the job done. [How's that? Can I go now?]" XD

LOL. One of the robots who gave a testimonial is named "Cristal Matrix". Sure, all the names use robot-sounding terms as last names along with human first names, but one wonders if that one might have been deliberate, seeing as this is BIONICLE's successor.

Love the site layout. The art in general is great, and the receptionist bot pictured on the "Submit a Mission" section is kinda cute (for a robot). The style makes me think Brian Ellis is behind the art on this site.

The "Design Your Villain" section is also a pretty cute concept. I wonder how this site will expand when the actual sets come out.

Wow, the site looks fantastic! :cry_happy:

"There's a huge green alien blocking traffic on New Stellac Drive, and I'm late for work. A little help?"

I guess Heroes do everything, from traffic control to averting natural disasters!

The numbers on the site are interesting (even though they look like they're stored as cookies). Over a thousand teams active?

This is a bit of an odd request, but does anyone know where I could find the pics from a Youtube video that appeared several pages back? The video has been removed, but it contained some wonderful pics including a robot person in a lab coat, several views of the Hero Factory building in Makuhero City, and others. I checked Brickshelf and Youtube, but unfortunately most of what I found both of those places were BIONICLE fans who seem to think b****ing about Hero Factory and the loss of the One True Theme is their civic duty (on Brickshelf, at least it was moderated :hmpf: ). No luck finding any copies of the video in question.

Here was the video.

Here was the video.

Nah, that's not the one. The one I'm looking for had stuff that was more along the lines of "concept art". There was a guy similar in design to the Hero Factory heroes or receptionist-bots, but with a lab coat (presumably some kind of scientist or designer).

But never mind. The video that embedded in this topic didn't work (might even be the wrong one; no way to tell), but the one on the original French site seems to work. Thanks anyhow.

EDIT: Never mind. You were right about the video. It was I who was wrong about which video I was looking for. *digs back through to find any links I missed*

EDIT 2: Nope. I had the right link, but not the right video. The video that was originally at that link also had short "bios" of the heroes that listed their personalities and catch-phrases. Several people commented on the catch-phrases, even though nobody seems to have grabbed the concept art (I'm as much at fault here as anyone else). So obviously the video at that link has been changed since it was first linked from here. *sigh* Maybe those pics will turn up elsewhere now that Hero Factory has officially kicked off.

EDIT 3: Found the pics I was looking for with a YouTube search for "Hero Factory Francais"! Getting ready to screencap them so I don't have to go through this again.

EDIT 4: And, wouldn't you know it, the vid which can be viewed at 480p doesn't have the stuff I'm looking for. Well, I guess that's that, then. Good thing is, it doesn't seem to be just concept art, and is at a presentable quality, so hopefully it'll make its web debut soon on LEGO.com.

So there is a human presence in the universe of Hero Factory or is it just for marketing? :look:

It's for marketing.

Like how there wasn't actually a human band on Voya Nui.

Actually is easier to think that humanity created metal heros to fight aliens coming to a futuristic earth or corrupted robots of Von Nebula. than a society in a world where only robots exist. and where there are natural and organic enviroments as ice, trees. or even water. that could be more Metru Nui than Hero factory. LEGO what they did it's simply to resycle some parts of Bionicle story- but in a way that the only thing that Hero factory does have of Bionicle are the pieces

And I believe that Makuhero is a robot because..well..We will find out in a possible video freaturing heroes being called to a mission where is almost expected to see Makuhero on a chair going from here to there against a giant TV where he contacts the heroes.

Like an parody to old series about spies or heroes.

My brain is corrupted. don't ask for something inteligent coming from me.

I think the point of the Hero Factory story is not to be too complex. How many times have we BIONICLE fans struggled to explain the story to other people? For every person we explain the story to, there's probably several others who didn't have anyone to explain it to them. People like to know what they're buying, and if you force them to buy books or look up the BIONICLE website to gain an understanding, fewer of them are going to go through that trouble and actually end up buying the products.

That's why in Hero Factory, the story is so simple. There are good guys. There are bad guys. Oh, and both happen to be robots. That's all a person needs to know to enjoy the sets, and they can ad-lib the rest as they play with them. Those who do learn the extra story details like character personalities and such will still benefit from that, but it won't be a prerequisite to appreciating the sets.

I'm glad there isn't a human presence, as that could limit your role-play opportunities, just like so many plots did in BIONICLE and its forerunners. After all, Makuta (as we knew him in 2001, as an evil shapeshifter), the Morbuzakh, the virus from Roboriders, the Throwbot/Slizer background monsters... all of those frustrated me to no end because they could not be built. A robots-only universe eliminates that problem. Even if some of the robots we've seen don't use existing parts, the point is that everybody is a robot, so you can easily make up civilians, villains, or heroes of your own just by mixing and matching the parts of sets. Just like what I always used to do with Throwbots back in the day.

It's getting harder and harder to keep myself away from this theme. I still insist that I do not have to collect the figures, and truth be told I wouldn't have much to do with them if I only bought a select few. But somehow, this might be yet another fandom for me to join, since the artistic possibilities might for once get me to think creatively. I've got my hopes up.

I will "review" (= present) one of the larger sets when they hit the streets. It might be a set with wings. I've already prepared a surprise.
