Bfahome Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Are the core things on the chest removable? Yes. http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=318124&st=1320entry6925902 Quote
vexorian Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Hmnn that link didn't contribute much did it? I think a recolored mask is much better than a new mold which could not look as good as hydraxon's mask on Von Nebula. I also never got a chance to get Hydraxon, so I have no masks with that shape. I think the guys that rant about lack of new molds in sets instead of focusing on more important issues ruined Bionicle. hehe. Meanwhile, I love some of the descriptions in that magazine of upcoming web content for the Hero Factory website. It sounds like creativity remains the order of the day, what with "construct your own Hero Factory team and share your adventures". Good to hear. Of course, it's also possible that it's just another online game, but I'm hoping it's something more creative like the example we see in the "design a villain" section. Yeah it is a nice approach. I just hope the sets are consistent with it. I have mixed expectations from what we've seen so far. So I am getting anxious for the first review to come. Quote
The Dor Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Hmnn that link didn't contribute much did it? I think the better one would have been this one. Quote
Aanchir Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I think the better one would have been this one. Nice. Kinda wish Mark Surge was more consistent with trans. neon green instead of trans. yellow, but his color scheme's still cool. Certainly an impressive first look at one of the sets. Of course, I'm still holding out for more web/story content. Zib remains amazing (robot lab coat! with pockets!), and I look forward to seeing more pictures of non-set characters so I can get started on some HF fanart. Already drew Zib yesterday, though it's just a sketch. Quote

Front Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I enjoyed reading the review and watching the video version. Maybe the reviewer was a bit too enthusiastic when he claimed that there are lots of connection points on the pieces. Stringer is not my favorite of the 7.99 sets, I more like the Heroes with two identical weapons. Quote
Aethersprite Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I was planning to get Stringer, but Furno's name change (from Blaze) and the fact that his weapon could attach to his arms like wings/blades make me want him now. I'm probably only getting Furno and Nebula. Bulk & Vapour maybe. And one of the canister villains, if upcoming reviews convince me to. Quote
Delta 38 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) Huh? Me? Nah mate, we use the Czech crowns in my hometown. :-P Sorry everyone, I am rather lazy, so I just took the cheapest M&V set in the CZK and converted it into the USD hoping it would be at least close...damn my expensive hometown... This may be a bit late... When I said $40, that was in Australian dollars, and I meant that was about the maximum I'd pay, not the maximum price of the set. Edit: oh yes, before I forget, Mutran and Vican was around $40 (Australian) here. Edited June 20, 2010 by Delta 38 Quote
duncan bulk Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I have Jimi Stringer heading to the house of one of my relatives in Kentucky and since I'm heading there I'll own it as soon as I get there or later because it's being shipped to there either today or tomorrow so as soon as i get home or the day after i get home I'll be making a review of it and upload it onto youtube but since I'm going to be gone for two weeks it won't be up until July, sorry. In one long, incredibly unbroken sentance.. Hello and welcome. Does anyone know if the translucent chest thingies fall off when shot with a zamor? Quote
Monasti Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 No, but I do know the website has been updated and you can read an article about it, which is ever so short, here. have fun xD! I'm in love with Mak Megahertz... Quote
Brickthing Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Akiyama Makuro, from the updated HF website. I'm split over whether I like his design, and the design of other non-set characters. On one hand he looks like a great character that we wouldn't have seen otherwise, but I dislike that he can't be made out of Bionicle/HF pieces. Through all the years of Bionicle, (most) characters were MOCable, at least with the right parts if not colours. Also on the new site are a few mission descriptions, including Dragons!, which confirms that Hero Factory takes place in a futuristic reality of our own, with humans and Earth. I like that this sets HF apart from Bionicle and guarantees no cross-overs with Bionicle, however LEGO themes have never really used real people in their stories. Quote
Front Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 The commercials are pretty cool. It seems like you can download instructions for the complete HF line up. Quote
Monasti Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Urgh I hope not. But still, would be cool. They haven't announced a film, only anime wasn't it? But still... Bionicle was supposed to have two more films... so maybe it got transfered... Quote
Zarkan Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I have to say, while I'm still not too keen on Hero Factory as a whole, I find it neat that they've split the bad guys up into two factions. It's cool that Xplode works for Von Nebula only on his terms, and runs a separate crime ring on his own. Also, I never would have suspected that Rotor was Xplode's flunky and not Von Nebulas's, which would potentially make a battle brtween him and some of the other villians very possible. It's just too bad that Xplode utterly fails as a set, because his character seems to be the coolest of the bunch. I can see some interesting fan-fiction arising out of this new dynamic, and I'd like to see someone write a story about him engaging in a gang war with Von Nebula. Quote
The Dor Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 But still, would be cool. They haven't announced a film, only anime wasn't it? No. An anime was never announced. There was word of an animated series of 4 approximately 30 minute shows, but never was it stated to be an anime. It could easily be animated BY Tinseltown Toons. Anyway, I'm currently taking pictures of all the Heroes, expect reviews of them up pretty soon. Quote
Bfahome Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 The Legend Reborn style? Hopefully. Also. (Yes, we’re talking about YOU, Dunkan Bulk.) I chuckled. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Did anyone else notice the bulk and vapour set on the HF site? Quote

Front Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I can't reveal anything I have knowledge about, and I certainly don't know half of the stuff that will be surrounding the Hero Factory products in 2010. But I can promise that in my view it looks big, big on several fronts. Quote
ultimate antrozek Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 "No..It's a tank" I officially love Bulk Quote
