I can't reveal anything I have knowledge about, and I certainly don't know half of the stuff that will be surrounding the Hero Factory products in 2010. But I can promise that in my view it looks big, big on several fronts.

I know this isn't relevant, but I lol'd.

Anyway, where are you people getting all this information about the storyline (Xplode, Rotor, etc) and all? And where did that picture come from? The HF site? I guess I'm too lazy to browse around it a bit.

Anyway, now that I've seen the instructions, I can't decide between Meltdown and Xplode. I'm not a MOCist, but still, even though Meltdown looks better on a whole compared to Xplode, he doesn't have enough new pieces that look significant on him. Get what I mean? The tanks on his shoulders are really small. Plus, Xplode looks kinda badass.

Or maybe I should skip both and get Bulk & Vapour. I don't know if I love or hate Vapour - everything about him is great except for his feet. The Piraka clawed feet really look out of place compared to his body as a whole, which is really robotic. At least Meltdown and Corroder got away with it because their faces give a slight hint of being organic, but Rotor's mask screams robotic to me. Bleh.

I just had a look at the instructions. Vapour and Von Nebula were disappointing... :hmpf_bad: I really don't know which set I should get now. I guess it's all up to the storyline. The villains that impress me the most, I will get.

I was flicking/clicking through the Drop Ship instructions and apparently when you squeeze the trigger, not only to the bottom wings fold down (to grab a canister, no doubt, as there are the rubber TECHNIC gripper things near the joints), but the top wings/panels "flare" up too. Like it's slowing down for a landing or needs to carry an extra weight (because it would).

About Von Nebula's Black Hole Orb Staff:

The function of the surrounding blades has not yet been determined, but one senior analyst suggests they are there to make the entire staff "look scary."

Well, at least they're admitting it.

Also, background of the HF website has changed to a sunset in the city. Might change depending on time of day, that would be cool.

But the background is black right now.

OH I GET IT

Excuse me, Vertea, but where did you get the picture of Meltdown that's in your sig?

I believe it came from the new promo videos on the website, which have some other pretty neat CGI animations in them as well. I love the grittier textures of the CGI sets, which is a refreshing change from the better-than-the-set style of BIONICLE animations.

In other words, done by Tinseltown.

I much prefer the ones done by Ghost, as these just feel... comical. But it fits, I guess.

The commercials are okay, not a fan of humans being in the story but I love the looksof Nebula and Meltdown in CGI.

And the FM the heros either sound like they are being suffocated or are high on helium.

Loving all the new background/side characters we're seeing, even in the animations. No, they're mostly not buildable, but I don't mind. Gives us artists something to do. And even if many BIONICLE background characters and creatures were buildable, several others were not-- remember the Mahi?

Furthermore, the background characters look like they're legitimately from the same universe as the heroes. I can appreciate aesthetic considerations like that.

HF definitely has my approval.

The Mahi were perfectly buildable. Well, unless you mean they weren't buildable with exactly the right colors... or without cutting a Matoran arm slightly... =P

The background characters in Hero Factory are buildable, everything is with LEGO, but they would certainly take a lot of System pieces...

Could someone explain to me what exactly are the effects on radioactive sludge on mechanical beings? :hmpf_bad: I understand there're humans in the HF world, but I'd think that Meltdown would be battling more Heroes (and as such, robots) rather than humans, no? What'd be the use of the radioactive sludge then?

Maybe it fries electronics? It's corrosive? I dunno.

Then there'd be no point with Corroder. :hmpf_bad:

I like how Meltdown has a hand in that ad instead of his 'radioactive sludge shooter'.

We're getting mixed messages on that, too. Some sources say the Zamor/Thornax combo is the sludge shooter, but the product description says he has a Meteor Blaster as well, which makes me thing that the tentacle is a "stream" of sludge shooting out.

Anyway, there's writing down the left side of the background images on the HF site. These are the ones I've gotten so far:

Hero Factory Operational Status: 110% efficiency. Paging Robby to the Lobby, you have a visitor.

On this one.

Hero Factory Operational Status: Emergency! Emergency! Alert level fuchsia! Oops, my bad, never mind.

On this one.

Hero Factory Operational Status: Nominal. It's always Nominal. I'm bored of Nominal.

On this one.

I love this site.

I love this site.

I agree. I totally agree. Probably one of the best sites Lego has made.

My question still isn't answered. :hmpf_bad: How does Meltdown's radioactive sludge affect robots?

I love the site as well, and hold Bink responsible. He said that he was really enjoying making the site, and Easter eggs like these prove it.

As for the sludge, it just does...

Although the obvious reason is that kids know that radioactive waste is dangerous, the worst it could probably do is wreck their paint-jobs, unless the sludge could heat up as it decays, which would damage robots through extreme heat.

Alternatively, the power core of robots could quite likely be a mini nuclear reactor (especially with Heroes), where if the unstable radioactive sludge were to come in contact with the core fuel, it could cause a meltdown of the core, blowing up the robot. (This might be a bit violent... :look: )

Let's just stick to it hurts the Heroes somehow.

Alright, buying list confirmed. I'm getting Furno, Meltdown, and Nebula. Unless Rotor convinces me otherwise.
