MetroiD Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 It is the failure on our part to fall into a publicly accepted category of 'amusing individuals' that has you irritated, sir, is it not? Notwithstanding the truthfulness of your observations, I will have you know that we are indeed at work for the greater good of mankind here, and not merely engaging in petty games, as some might suggest. Keep it Relative. Quote
def Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 ...Anyways, I like this joke a lot better because I can relate to it. I especially like def's element, which has an atomic number that doesn't exist (there is no square root of two). I am pleased that you derive humor from our existence, but I take great opposition to the idea that I don't exist. Quote
Artanis I Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 (edited) I'm just so happy that I have found a place to share my love of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene building blocks with others. It really is a lovely scientific community here. The great thing about acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is that this material combines the strength and rigidity of the acrylonitrile and styrene polymers with the toughness of the polybutadiene rubber. They're just so darn impact resistant, I love it! Can't wait to see more of you around here. Ah, I wondered what ABS stood for... thanks! I must admit this is getting a tad annoying. Boohoohoo... this is a great way to start a Monday morning.Definium is a very light, inert, fashionable gas. Definium has the lowest melting point of any element. It is the only liquid that cannot be intimidated by lowering the temperature. It remains liquid down to absolute zero at ordinary pressures, but can be solidified by slipping it a twenty. The specific heat of definium gas is remarkably high. The density of definium vapor at the normal boiling point is also very high, with the vapor becoming quite irritable when heated to room temperature. Although definium normally has a valence of zero, it has a tendency to hook up with certain other elements, particularly slinky Scandinavian ones.Definium is widely used in cryogenic research because it stays cool under pressure. It is used in the study of superconductivity, as an inert gas shield for bongs, as a protective gas in growing silicon and Kaiburr crystals and producing titanium and zirconium, for pressuring liquid smoothies, for use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as a cooling medium for nuclear reactors, and as a gas for supersonic wind tunnels. A mixture of definium and oxygen is used as an artificial atmosphere for divers and others working with mermaids. Definium is used for impregnating walruses. Except for hydrogen, definium is the most abundant element in the universe. This gives it an undeserved sense of high self-esteem. It is an important component in the proton-proton reaction and the carbon cycle, as well as the proton-proton-proton reaction, which is still banned in most of the United States for religious reasons. Definium is extracted from small bubbles. In fact, all small bubbles contain at least trace quantities of definium. The fusion of hydrogen into definium is the source of a flux capaciters' power. Definium is a disintegration product of radioactive substances, so it is found in ores of uranium, radium, and other Eurobricks members. The things they don't tell you at school... So are any of the fellows "Unobtainium" (a la Avatar)? Edited October 10, 2010 by Artanis I Quote

Hinckley Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 What's the reasoning behind these shenanigans? Oh, I hope there are no shenanigans. I don't like shenanigans. They cause stimulation. So Helium walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "We don't serve noble gases here". Helium doesn't react. I find your joke amusing so I will laugh at it. Ha. I must admit this is getting a tad annoying. Admitting it is the first step towards recovery. Quote

Dragonator Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Good day everyone! I know you just can't get enough of me, fabulous as I am, but I really do try not to spread myself too thinly, so you'll just have to be thankful for a small amount of my time, I'm in high demand you know. I'm not sure what's going on here but you all look rather dull, certainly I would appreciate a more conductive conversation, although I'm more likely to have that with myself than the rest of you lot, you all react far too much. Well, my stocks just rose and I have some buyers to appeal to, so I'll be running along now. Not like any of you lot could afford my type anyway. Quote

Dragonator Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Nor read it... Seems someone is envious of my brilliant gleam, but I get that a lot, as obviously nobody is more stunningly lustrous than I. Quote
LuxorV Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Unfortunately, it was that in my college days, but I've been putting on weight in my old age. You tell me that. I have been trying to loose weight in recent years, but I am still 19+ times heavier than water. I think I will go get some boring work with those militaries again. It is really sad how they have to call me any time they need a good penetration factor. But that is still good, when I think of what I have to pass through to deal with organic compounds. Quote
