prateek Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 This thread isn't officially spam until someone posts the Kermit "Hurt" video. I'm waiting... Here: SPAM! Quote
Big Cam Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Fun, aye? Just let me know when it starts. And how is asking why people suddenly have different user names overreacting? I'm just annoyed at how I now have to remember two sets of names: The real one, and the muppet one, and wondering why there is the need to change. I don't want to argue so I'll stop, I'm sorry it upsets you so, but without sounding rude, it looks like you are the only one who has an issue with it. Quote
blueandwhite Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 SPAM! Man, I haven't seen that video in years. It certainly is a lot edgier than I remember. I might consider warning viewers there is some seriously hardcore muppet depravity going on there . Quote

Thanks for trying to spoil everything for everybody, professor Just ride with it all. Quote
Hinckley Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Could somebody explain to me why name changing is generally frowned upon, and yet you guys to did it celebrate a children's television show revival? I just see it a rather hypercritical, is all. We didn't change them, it's a board glitch. We're doing our best to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience. Not to be rude, but I never watched Seasme Street/Muppets, so I don't understand the reference here. I'm just saying I find it hard to remember who I'm talking to (with increasing difficulties in Mafia Games). For me, trying to keep track of every member of staff with a Muppet name is already wearing thin (okay, BertFang is easy to remember, but who the bloody hell is SnuffleupagoiD, or Bluncle Traveling White?). I understand that this whole thing has been meant in jest, but why not just celebrate the return through their sigs? And there is no case here, I'm just trying to understand why everyone is doing this, not leading some sort of anti-puppet revolution. EDIT: Also, how often are these going to occur. Are the names going to change to GoldFang and Shadows are Forever come Shirley Bassey's birthday? If this were a Muppets and Lego forum I'd understand, but... Wow, you're taking this very seriously. Perhaps you need a nap? In answer to your question, I hope these sort of viruses/glitches won't occur very often. Once we figure out what has caused it, we'll try to make sure it never happens again. It appears your account is stuck in some "no fun" glitch. We'll try to fix that to. I'm sorry, my boy, but I don't just can't remember your name before the change! If a member of three years like me is struggling, how confused are the new members going to be? Won't somebody please think of the children???? Quote

It appears your account is stuck in some "no fun" glitch. We'll try to fix that to. A hug, that's what he needs. Everyone could use a hug. As to the glitch - I thought that Google cache was actually the one to blame here, since it had interfered with the alternative skin designs which eventually led to some members seeing weird people (and things) popping up all over the place? In any case, I sure as hell am happy that everything's looking fine for me. Perhaps that has something to do with me still using the Summer skin? What - it hasn't been that long since the summer ended, just von-too-tree weeks!! Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 I don't want to argue so I'll stop, I'm sorry it upsets you so, but without sounding rude, it looks like you are the only one who has an issue with it. True, it would appear that I am indeed alone in my opinion. Despite many members enjoying the weirdness, professor flitwick has become stressed out (because he now has to "remember two sets of names") and is starting a campaign against this 'event'. Thanks for trying to spoil everything for everybody, professor Just ride with it all. It may interest you to know something about the members you moderate, Def. I’m a mentally depressed college (or ‘high school’) student struggling to remember both Freuds psychodynamic approach of psychology, plus trying to remember all of the Biological approach we’re simultaneously being taught about, not to mention the names of Eurycleia, Agamemnon, Piesisteraties, and all the other characters of the Odyssey. (I also took Politics and Sociology, but I’ve only had one lessen of politics so far, recently started as I dropped IT for it, and Sociology is fun and easy) It takes a lot out of me, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I have to watch as friends can just drink and smoke their problems away, whilst I’m giving up lunches (starving my borderline anorexic body even more, but that’s for another day, and another time in which my opinion differs from the worlds) to talk my problems out with a councillor. Rest assured, next time Muppet day comes around, I won’t question the various events we go through in celebration. I must say I apologies if I ruined your fun of changing your usernames, and I shall try to treat them as if they were a delicate piece of porcelain in future. Also, you need not fear a usurping from your position here, and, I repeat, I’m “not leading some sort of anti-puppet revolution”, or spreading any anti-moderatorist rumours, all that happened was I (foolishly) asked ‘why has everyone changed their usernames, aren’t we supposed to stick with the ones we chose?’ We didn't change them, it's a board glitch. We're doing our best to fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience. Very good! Again very good, the joke is always less funny the second time around, but it’s good to see you added that little piece extra, to spice up the joke. I’m also not surprised I’m the only one with the ‘no-fun’; I’m running on a very old model, prone to infections. Won't somebody please think of the children???? The oldn’s or the best’ns. Also thank you for my new signature character. If I knew who this menacing foe (?) is, I’d probably enjoy it even more. I’ll remember the text size, no need to worry. A hug, that's what he needs. Everyone could use a hug. Why thank you. *Hugs MetroiD elephant/dog character* Now at the risk of being antisocial, it’s 1:50am in Britain, and I’m off to sleep shortly. Rest assured I shall answer your rebutles in about 6 – 9 hours time. Quote
Hinckley Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 It may interest you to know something about the members you moderate, Hey thanks for the more positive attitude. It really does add more positive energy to my day to know that you're having fun with this too. Honest advice, as someone who struggled in school, (too creative to be sat down and taught! ) if the name change is stressing you out over all the names you have to remember for exams, just use it to challenge yourself. You'll do better next time you're presented with a similar situation. It's always best to identify what it is about a situation that's frustrating, which is usually the circumstances that you can't control. Then you learn the most by identifying what you can control and you develop tools to cope with similar situations in the future. (teaching hat off) Today's episode of Sesame Street was brought to you by the letters H and F, and the concept of frustration. Quote
Athos Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Mrs. Athos was quite horrified with this... Steve Quote

sok117 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 I'm wondering why no one is Dr. Melonhead or Beaker? Corvus Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 A simple *bleep* and look what happens. The poor Count, such a lonely guy. On a related note, we were talking about Lewis structures in chemistry today. After the professor finished counting electrons, someone in the back shouted "Ah, ah, ah..." It was probably funnier to me since I saw the video. Quote

I guess when I need a Hinkley fix, i should just search to the past for old nuggets of joy. I haven't been active for a while since I got a new job and moved. I focused a lot of energy towards the Mafia games for a while and that's where my humor ended up getting stuck. My building too. Now I'm back to the hobby and since work has brought me to Malaysia, I'm refocusing my energy and using my time more wisely. I'd like another crack at a mafia game though Quote
