Brickdoctor Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 That's why the first pic was crucial as I wouldn't have proceeded with this project if I wasn't 100% sure that the grid would be convincingly accurate. I'm convinced. Quote
ACPin Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Fantastic MOC as always, ACPin! All of it looks awesome, and resembles the real thing very well. So great job on that, I'm looking forward to see more of it! Keep it coming. When I saw this episode, I was wondering if anyone would ever try to make the Training Facility, and well - here it is! ~ General Magma Well I was intrigued enough after seeing the episode to think about how it can be built as a MOC. Now on the third week of building and it looked so simple enough to build at first. Gotta I'm a conformist! if I'm to finish it before Halloween. I'm convinced. The next installment will definitely erase any doubts about this MOC! AC Quote
brickfoot Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 The next installment will definitely erase any doubts about this MOC! AC My anticipation is building. Quote

CMP Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 (edited) Love it so far. Can't wait to see the flag tower. Off topic: You know that illusion when you see the gray dots in the cross sections of white lines in between black squares? Edited October 12, 2010 by CallMePie Quote
The_Customizer Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Wow! That looks really nice so far! Great job! I love the whole thing! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 It's getting BIGGER! It's BLACKER! It's got guns! It's... The Valley of the Shadow of Death! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Just looking greater and greater by the update. I'm lovin' the twin watch towers. Can't wait to see the final product in all its glory. Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Wow this is Fan-Tas-Tic I love those watch towers Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Looking good, AC. I noticed some patches of blue and grays in the floor. You didn't run out of black tiles, did you? And are the black jumper plates scattered on the floor for some Battle Droids? The towers look awesome. I love the use of the UCS TIE Interceptor windscreen. Using the T-16 fin for the sloped embankment was clever as well. Can't wait to see it finished. Quote

Off topic: You know that illusion when you see the gray dots in the cross sections of white lines in between black squares? That's what I get when I stare too long at the grids when working at this! Wow! That looks really nice so far! Great job! I love the whole thing! Maybe I should just stop right now. It's getting BIGGER! It's BLACKER! It's got guns! It's... The Valley of the Shadow of Death! It's not yet done and you haven't spotted anything out of the ordinary from the grids. Just looking greater and greater by the update. I'm lovin' the twin watch towers. Can't wait to see the final product in all its glory. It just gets bigger than planned as I've had to make adjustments for those towers. Just a couple more weeks or so to go. Wow this is Fan-Tas-Tic I love those watch towers I had to borrow those from the UCS TIE Interceptors. That is WAY better! Nice job! Looking good, AC. Just finished the right half to make sure that the grids were in place before finishing the left area. You'll just have to wait and see where they lead to. Got to use all available pieces that I could muster though the TIE-D now doesn't have it. AC Quote

Keep going 'ACPin' the more the better ......oh and as Yoda might say, Bricking..., you must ! Can't you watch it from the CN website? AC PS. Minor setback as I just realized while building the flag tower that another layer of the grid has to be added all around the existing facility! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 PS. Minor setback as I just realized while building the flag tower that another layer of the grid has to be added all around the existing facility! The whole build is already great as it is! I doubt people would even notice the missing layer of grid around the facility, since we are already in awe with the current set-up. But since I understand you're up for accuracy perfection, then do what you need to in order to improve the already impressive MOC. Quote

Too late as I've already done it and good thing I was able to scrounge up parts from this. Have you looked at the grids up close? The surprises I mentioned answers the questions on your first post about this WIP. Agreed. You're really being lazy with your comments. Great work so far ACPin. It looks really awesome - reminds me of the training facility in Starship Troopers Another week or so and it will be done. Were you referring to the external training facility where one trooper got a head shot? AC Quote
StoutFiles Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Forgive me if you've already answered this before, but are the Legos you use all from your own personal collection? You say you've built many dioramas for a Lego store so I was wondering if they were suppling you with parts. I stumbled across your work before I even knew of this site. Incredibly impressive, you should be working for Lego if you aren't already. Quote

Very few builders are lucky enough yo be supported by TLG, and then it's usually only for certain MOCs. Quote
General Magma Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Awesomely done so far, AC! Are you going to make the parts with the flag on top, too? Looking forward to the rest.. ~ General Magma Quote

Back on track after finishing the additional grid layer all around. Should be done next week just in time for Halloween! Quote
