Quick question: Does the Imperius curse give any damage? or is it just an evil blocking spell?

I believe Imperio is purely a defensive spell and therefore does not deal any damage. (It just cancels whatever the opponent's action is).

Can you have 1 good spell and 1 evil (say expecto patronum and crucio)

I will definatly try join

"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

In other words, the paths are mutually exclusive. But I believe the spells on the good/bad sides are similar to each other, differing only in name.

And it would be nice to have a new player around. Someone that doesn't have all those advanced spells that keep kicking my butt.

If I were to select 'Studious' as my Master Power, could I pick a spell from the opposite side? Like, I am a dark wizard, but could I chose Stupefy?

I would think you have to stick with evil or neutral spells. In the books you could know both but for the purposes of the game, probably not.

Those this not apply anymore?

I think the one you quoted are for mastery spells (Crucio, Stupefy, Expelliarmus, etc.), which is limited to only one use per round. Regular spells (low, mid, high, silencio, protego) can be used more than once per round, though.

Basic rule amendment to 'Studious'.

The '2-per-round' rule is redundant now. You can use as many spells or abilities as you possess. The main purpose of Studious is to allow your character access to another spell. The new rule should read like this...

Studious – The witch or wizard has spent much time studying and has become extremely proficient in the magic arts. Can choose 1 extra Spell. Passive.

ADHO, can you amend this in the first post please?

I'm going to give this a go now that I've finished reading the books.... Just give me some time to get my person up!

Great character, Masked Builder - don't be deterred by a couple of losses!

Thanks Pedro! I am very happy that you like what I came up with. :sweet: I'm just awaiting another dueler now.

I think I'm gonna try this out, sounds really fun!

Working on my character at the moment. :sweet:

May I ask whether my character needs to wear Hogwarts uniform, or can it have any torso?

Your character can be made up of whichever parts you like but should also look like a character that could believably come from the Harry Potter universe, i.e. no clonetrooper torso, etc. Look throught eh character records - you'll see an example or two there.

I'd like to try this out. Is there anything I need to do, or can I just post my character in the appropriate thread?

Aye, that's it: post in the Character Records and find yourself an opponent!
