I had no idea about this sale until I went to ToysRUs today to snag some Tron Legacy Merch and saw the lego sale. I had to jump on it!

Didn't see this anywhere else, so I thought I'd make my first topic :classic:

TRU North America has kicked off its Bricktober campaign, which offers a free minifigure magnet with any $20 Lego purchase. Thought this was the best place to talk about it, since 3 of the four magnets feature historical theme figures, so to speak.

From what I can tell, the schedule appears to be:

Week 1: A Blue Coat soldier (hooray for all the pirate fans)

Week 2: A Union cavalry soldier (very exciting-- I've never had one)

Week 3: A classic-era Fire Fighter (sorry, doesn't really fit the theme here, I know)

Week 4: A Black Falcon soldier (YES! A possible new long-lost comrade in arms, one with youth in his veins to relieve the aging troops posted in my castle for the past 25 years, haha)

No weapons, no accesories-- although the blue coat does feature some striking red epaulettes. As I said, they're available free with any $20 purchase, but according to the web site, they appear to also sell for $1.99 each. Here's hoping they'll let us buy 'em at the store for the same price! Here's the link for anyone interested:

Happy Bricktober everyone!

I got the same email, but I didn't look into it enough to realize that there is more than one fig to get.

Excellent.

Thanks for doing the research for me, its much appreciated.

Perhaps we could have these topics merged?

Considering you get a classic minifig AND an exclusive 2x4 tile, this offer is like a hundred times better than those stupid duplo bricks from last year. I'll definitely get at least one bluecoat! :sweet:

Hm... The buecoat is marked as Sold Out... Does this mean that you wont get one if you order online, or just that you can't buy it? :look:

Just go to TRU and get $20 of Lego, and there's a Bluecoat for you.

My guess would be sold out online. I rememebr when they had the chrome stormtrooper polybag deal, it was sold out online yet I went to the store and bout like 6 of them.

I agree with the Duplo comment, those were worthless, in fact I still have one of the 4 pieces that I'd be more than happy to give to anyone who wants it.

You cannot buy them for 1.99. I drove through rush hour traffic that took about half an hour alone. I go up to the register and ask about them and if I can buy them. At first the clerk says no. Then I tell her to ask the manager and he says no. This makes no sense! I was able to buy the Chrome Stormies from the same store! I am furious. Where did you get this 1.99 information? They said it rang up as one penny. I'd like to print out proof that it said I could buy these. Just a warning to all fellow FOLs. Anyone else have this problem?

Couldn't buy them, didn't even get one with buying sets. Went in 3 hours after the store opened, and they were out. "will you get more in, it's only been a day?", I ask. "Sorry, once they are gone, they are gone"...Guess I'll try again next week.:hmpf_bad:

They were listed for that price on the website, but there was no actual way to purchase them it seemed. But I was never under the impression that they'd be selling them individually. It would be DISASTROUS to sell these. They'd sell out in the first 4 hours, and they'd have none at all for you or anyone that came by for the free offer that week. I'd be all for them selling the figs AFTER the week concludes, though.

Considering that the imperial soldier figure alone is selling for around $4-$5 on BrickLink, they'll be lucky if a few savvy employees don't swipe or "buy" bunches of them to sell online.

Great, another one of these...

Ok, anyone has an inside contact or manages to buy spares and wants to keep doing that for the whole month, I'd love a set of 4 (just one of each, that's all I'm asking).

I really would. I might not even be above abusing my authority here.

I would love to help you shadows but I went to my toys r us yesterday and they were already out.

To shed a bit of light on the individual purchase issue, it varies from store to store and day to day.

I bought 6 of the chrome stormtroopers for $1.99 each, then I went back literally the next day and they said they cannot sell them individually. So its not necessarily a dead deal everywhere, you just need to find the right store that doesn't care.

I appreciate the thought. :sweet:

I never even found the right store for a chrometrooper (literally never found a store with any in stock). I haven't had the best of luck with TRU and their offers.

Thanks for this info guys!

I got the ARC-170, Knights Showdown and the minifig for only $46.50!

Thanks for the great information!

BTW, to everyone, if you want to get the stuff, go soon , my TRU was already almost out of ARC's.

Earlier this week I bought my first two LEGO Games (Magikus and Monster 4) and received my Bricktober bluecoat free; I haven't even tried to buy one individually (yet). However, mine came with a TRU price sticker on it indicating it would be $3.99 if bought individually - pricey, but that's TRU for you. I'll probably go back later to see if I can.

Regarding the rest of the sale, note that a few of the games are 30% off like some of the regular sets, but the games that aren't 30% off are instead full price - only "regular" LEGO construction sets are on sale for 10% off, not the games.

TRU sure could learn a few things about shipping - I received two large sets today where they'd been left in their initial carton from Lego with little more than an address sticker slapped on the front. They're pretty banged up.

I had the same thing happen this week with a HP set. So I took it back to the store today to exchange it. I tried to return and rebuy it to get the magnet but no luck - they were out.
