drdavewatford Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Simply magnificent. I don't think I've seen anyone do nature (greenery, flowers, rock, water) better than you - it's amazing the detail and realism you manage to get. Massive respect. Dr. D. Quote
Legorski Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Dadada, dada, daaaa Beautiful. Just amazing! Legorski, Quote
CommanderFox Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 I really like the ripples where the fish is coming out of the water. Incredibly awesome man!! You have an eye for detaile as MB says with that ripple (decal?) I love the corn in the field, getting loaded onto a wagon, the foliage is great, and the manor-house is a beaut! Really a fantastic MOC, can't wait to see more as always. CF Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 :classic: :classic: I really cannot say what has not already been said before, it is very awesome. (though, I begin to wonder just how much you spend on LEGO every month) Quote
Magnus the Great Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 This is awesome! I feel sorry for the Falcons. They seem to be vastly outnumbered. Quote
blueandwhite Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Derfel, you must be tired of hearing this by now but; "amazing work"! You really have a way of putting together some of the most lively castle and pirate scenes here on Eurobricks. The detail in this creation is incredible (yet again). Your building style is really unique with the extensive use of round plates to create texture in your buildings. The lush greens are always nice though I wouldn't mind seeing a few more rolling hills to go along with the extensive vegetation. The manner home itself is also a treat. I appreciate the lengths you go to ensure that your structures aren't always lined up along the studs. This really is an amazing structure that blends well with the land itself. Good stuff. I always like seeing what you'll come up with next. Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 This looks so realistic! The plants, fields, trees, rivers, it all so life-like! How many pieces would you think it has? Over 10 000? Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Thankyou all for your great comments! I do enjoy building countryside scenes at the moment, although I'd like to incorperate them into a train display one day. @Dragonator & ISC, the ripple effects were done as an afterthought when I was looking at the finished moc. I realised the water needed some life, so I grabbed some white insulating tape and hastly put it on. It worked quite well plus insulating tape peels off very easily and doesnt leave any marks on the bricks. Im not a huge sticker fan, but they can be good for some small effects. Thanks all again, I hope to be building quite a lot now, and get part 3 of myths & legends done before xmas, plus some pirate mocs as its been a while. DC Quote

Gunman Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 You rock man... i love your style of landscaping in every work you make.. you are great MOCer Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Defenitely one of the best creations I've seen thus far! Your landscaping is astounding, and so incredebly detailed! The house is beautiful as well, great architecture! I only think the brown path looks a bit plain in contrast to the immensely detailed area around. "Just a MOC to get in the spirit of building". I need a spirit to even start such a project! A top build Derfel! Wonderful! Quote
legotrainfan Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Amazing landscape! I love all that green! It looks so real! I think I'm breating in clean medieval country air! And the building is also absolutely stunning and amazing! Simply fantastic! Quote
turambar Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Excellent MOC, the pond looks beautiful. Quote
Erynion Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 (edited) Its just a moc to get me back in the spirit of building again! Wow, beautiful MOC - I wish I had as many green vegetation pieces as you! EDIT: A few more close-up shots of the building might have been nice, but overall the pictures capture the MOC pretty well. fenris Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 already commented on flickr: this is awesome... i'd give it 100 out of 100! if you'd used some light blue background when taking the photos it would even be a great photo-job and would add to the presentation. still - this is so very great. looked at the pics for some 15 minutes and still discover some great details! Quote
P_Squared Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 WOW, very impressive and extreme detail. Do you have all these MOCs done at the same time or do you take them apart each time to do a new one. I ask because the amount of green detail you use is impressive, must buy them in bulk. Looks great, can't wait to see your next one. Quote
