Ever wonder what ALL 5 modular buildings smashed into a pile looks like????

I finally talked my fiancee into letting me put up some shelves for display.... Just as I was snapping in the Grand Emporium on the end of the street,,,, The shelf gave way

THE SHELVES MUST DIE. BURN THEM! BURN THEM!

Sorry for that terrible loss. :cry_sad:

Ahhhh! :cry_sad: I've had a desk give way (I put my knee on it  ) half covered with LEGO, and I've had sets break while I was carrying them badly, but nothing this bad.

So what happened; screw not in wall beam and it slipped from the plaster? The screw I can see seems a bit short all things considered. Can you re-install the shelf or is the wall damaged?

:oh3: That's pretty bad. At least modular buildings are fun builds! :sweet:

Ouch. Bigger wall anchors may help.

So sorry to see this happen 'jeffjcc', I know how it feels....my son dropped green grocer .....from 3 feet up on to a cement floor :cry_sad:... though there was carpet it laned on....big help that was ! :wacko

Yours look like a scene from 'Seconds From Disaster' - well, there's only one thing left to say.....keep on......rebuilding ! :sweet::sweet:

Never. But now, thanks to you, I don't have to.

Abject horror. :cry_sad::sick:

That sucks dude - especially considering it looks like you used plugs. What puts me off though, is that there's just screws (and requisite plugs) on the bottom plug. Maybe the plugs were too loose in the holes? In any case, use this opportunity to make yourself one ultra modular building!

This makes me cry on the inside. :cry_sad:

I am sorry for your loss, at least its LEGO, you can rebuild! it just takes awhile....

I hope you also put screws in the top holes (right below the plank), 'cause I see none that came out of the wall in that spot, only at the bottom screw holes.

But yeah, as others have said... happy sorting and rebuilding.

It's LEGO, the worst that can happen is a base plate snapping. Any pieces broken?

Aww man, that's just sad.. default_sad.gif I've experienced this a couple of times already, and it's really a pain in the megablocks to rebuild lego. It took me a couple of hours to rebuild an RGS, what more five modular buildings!

So... I think the root of the problem was the crappy walls in our apartment, should have figured some more support first.

I haven't noticed any broken pieces yet, and yes it will be kinda fun to re-build them...

Started by sorting with some bowls, each building that I know, and a few "random" bowls. I think the Grand Emporium had the least amount of damage, as you can see

Wow, what a mess. At least you now can enjoy building all of those all over again!

And to install your shelves, get these:

Heavy duty wall anchors, all the shelves and whatever needed to be screwed into the wall, that were not studded, I use these.

Every major hardware store carry these, these are very strong, and will never come out, the wall would give out before the anchors do.

Its good to know that they have been rebuilt :cry_happy:

It reminds me off when my UCS MF fell off the shelf knocking my death star off aswell :cry_sad: seriously how does that happen? :hmpf_bad:

Aw man! That stinks. Looks like you're on to a good start fixing them!

Well you have to have access to either an exhaust port or the reactor.

Very funny  But still how does it happen :cry_sad:

Your girl lets you display LEGO in your bedroom?

You have to use the force.

So? It's not like he's displaying Winnie the Pooh Duplo there

It's nice to see that you've got everything sorted out. I wish I was in your position, minus the messed up wall. I'd love to rebuild those sets :wub:

try hitting the studs next time with the screws. that will solve your problem.

Aww... well that must stink. If I was in your position, I'd keep the pieces like that so I could do some MOCs.

You mean yours doesn't?

Damn! What a disaster, at least you can rebuild though, that's the good thing about our hobby. This topic has got me thinking that I could do with an extra shelf, but I'm wondering if it is worth tempting fate. :look:
