Masked Builder Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 They're all LEGO, including the DUPLO. I think you mean the other sets are non-DUPLO. Yeah that's what I meant. Quote
Oky Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I did enjoy the Toy Story 3 line, if Lego Cars is as cool as Lego TS3 count me in. No way, TS will always be supreme - to everything! They're all LEGO, including the DUPLO. I think you mean the other sets are non-DUPLO. I believe the correct term is "System". Quote

prateek Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Oh Emm Gee! This sounds exciting! If this theme is anywhere as good as TS, we've got an awesome line on our hands! I can't wait for Toy Fair to see these! Quote

prateek Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Nice. It's nice to see a UCS Mater, but who is Francesco? I'm also interested in that Tokyo circuit set Quote
sok117 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I wonder how big ultimate build is? surely not UCS, anyone know? Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I'm really looking forward to this theme. Can't wait for some pictures. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Look what I found....... Enjoy and keep on rev'ing your engines ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Look what I found....... *snip* Enjoy and keep on rev'ing your engines ! Cool! That's Duplo CARS right? I'm more interested to see the System sets. You got more of those sweet pics LT? Quote
CMP Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Cool! That's Duplo CARS right? I'm more interested to see the System sets. You got more of those sweet pics LT? Actually, if you look closely, you can see the Lego logo on the studs. I think those are normal studs. But size is the only difference between it and Duplo. It's just as simple. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Well some of the components maybe simplied, but if they are stickered only pieces.....imagine the MOC's you could make ! Now we must wait to see what Mack the truck looks like......keep on racing ! Quote

But size is the only difference between it and Duplo. It's just as simple. Oh silly me, my eyes must've been playing tricks on me. It is indeed a normal studded system McQueen. It's just that the whole car looks like one whole piece ala-Duplo. Quote
Oky Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Sweet! Thanks again, LT! Now we at least know that these will be at Tiny Turbo scale, which is great since that means they'll be quite affordable. But size is the only difference between it and Duplo. It's just as simple. Sigh. Here we go again with the "too many specialized parts" complaints... I mean really, after Toy Story, is this even a surprise to anyone? It would have been very hard to make a good Lightning McQueen out of existing bricks, especially at this scale. Can't wait to see Ultimate Build McQueen! Ka-Chow! Quote
WhiteFang Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Now we at least know that these will be at Tiny Turbo scale, which is great since that means they'll be quite affordable. Do you really think it will be of scale similar with the current Racers/Tiny Turbos dimension? If so, I am actually quite interested to grab a few, but considering that this is Disney license, I won't think it will be that affordable. Even still, I am quite confident these parts will be printed instead of stickered which adds a plus point for getting these. I am referencing from the current Toy Story system sets where most parts are actually printed. Quote
Bricks2000 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Thanks for the pic, lightningtiger! Those pieces might look <insert that tiresome argument>, but it's a sleek design! Quote
RileyC Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I actually like the look of Lightning Tiger McQueen . I know it looks <insert that tiresome argument> but it would be hard not to and still make it look like McQueen. I dont know how they will create sets out of the movies though. My guess is play set type things but Im not sure because its most likely these will be based on Cars 2 coming out next year. Quote
Arigomi Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 The "Ultimate Build" sets sound like they are similar to 7592 Construct-a-Buzz and 7591 Construct-a-Zurg. I doubt that they would be true UCS sets because Stars Wars is the exception, not the rule, when it comes to licensed themes. I wondered why there weren't many early 2011 Racers sets. I guess the plan is to make room for these Cars sets in the summer the same way the Pirates theme was put on hold to make room for Pirates of the Caribbean sets. Quote

lisqr Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Depends on the background building, this might be interesting. A system play set would be great! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I found that button quite addicting . Back on topic. I don't think I'll be getting any of these sets because I have never like Cars. I'm sure they will be great fun for KFOL who have just emerged from the Duplo stage. But for me.... Meh Looks like we will be getting some new elements which I can see being used in the normal racers sets though Quote
