Now that's one COOL ride, far better than the Lego Volvo of a few years ago.....a bit boring that one was !

Now judging by the new parts selection for the actual vehicles I feel this is totally aimed at the under 10's.....yet still who wouldn't want Mater eh ?

Hopefully some of the new parts come in the city range in the future....gee a curved 1x4 tile....handy...fancy signs !

At least we only have to wait to May to get our hands on these sets.....I'm only getting Flo's....it has the most vehicles.

Keep on burning rubber !

Most of these cars are just awesome! I accidentally saw Cars 1 this weekend on tv, they nailed that V8 station pretty good!

And Guido is just to lovely!

Looks like whats-his-name the Army jeep in Flo's V8 Cafe is indeed just dark tan (Sand Yellow) and sand green. In the very least, that gives me the reassurance that there aren't yet any colors coming out that I don't know about.

Also, Guido includes cheese slopes in either Aqua or Light Royal Blue. Not sure if anyone cares, since few people have a big collection of either color (Aqua has not been released yet, and Light Royal Blue is used very, very rarely in mainstream System sets).

Overall, I'm very impressed with this theme. Can't wait to see more!

I don't really know what I'm looking at, but it seems Flo's Cafe seems to have some sort of launcher function?

I see technic stuff in the middle of it, which looks like it connect to the large dish on the top, as if you push down on the dish and it "kicks" a car.

Besides that, I don't see any other play functions in these sets, but of course they're cars, which make them play functions all by themselves.

I do also spy the occasional flick-fire and of course the rocket on Ultimate Build Mater, which undoubtedly fires.

Sarge is the name! I don't know what to make of its colour -- it does look close to Sand Green, but somewhat darker. The same colour is present on the sides of Ultimate Build Mater. Of course these are computer generated images, so we can't expect colour to look exactly like real-life bricks. Is this what Sand Green looks like in LDD? The 'real' vehicle is a darker shade of green as well (see picture below) but I'm not sure if the licensing contract could force TLG to create a new colour shade for this (minor?) character?

Thanks for more pictures 'grogall', at least they look better than Speed Racer !

The spy jet set will be popular with boys.....some cars have cannons mounted on their sides !

And 'Clone O'Patra' I think you are right, Flo's does appear to a launch device.....COOL....playability to the MAX !

Though I think that's the only set with a feature like that.....hence the only set I'm buying !

Keep on burning rubber !

One thing's for sure, the eyepiece on the Bernoulli racecar is going to make for some great R2-D2 parodies.

More like R4, but yeah, my thoughts exactly. And it looks like the same goes for the UCS versions of them:

Ut-Francesco.jpg

He's smaller and a bit blockier than I imagined, but still looks good. I don't think I'll get him though.

Thanks for sharing these hi-res images grogall! I've seen those a couple of days ago from another site but forgot to deeplink them here. :look: Anyway, I must say these sets are really looking good, speaking as a Cars fan of course. Too bad the characters aren't like minifigs where you could easily buy each separately off BL, as you will be 'forced' to buy the sets just to get all the character cars. :sceptic:

Thanks for the images! These new sets look great, I particularly like the cars in them and even more so the fact that they aren't stickered, but are printed. I'll probably get a few of the sets when they come out.

This is a series that just looks better and better all the time!

Man how many cool new colours and pieces there is.

I like the Spy Jet aeroplane a LOT! If that windshield just exists without the eyes...

has anyone noticed what the tail of the plane says (heres a clue, cal arts)

It is the room that Lasseter and many other Pixar employees went to class.

I wouldn't worry Kiel; I bet that they will get listed as a character on Bricklink, with the ability to part them out also. Just as animals can be bought in "complete assembly," those who run and update Bricklink will probably realize that people want to buy the whole characters, and list them that way.

Looking at those pictures, the tail, window pieces and front part on the spy plane look stickered (which is a good thing as I could use that tail piece in more colors. Now we just need to hope TLG produces it in RED :)

I think all the pieces are printed on in the CARS theme. At least that's what was mentioned at Brickset. But looking at this pic, you might get lucky on that tail piece. Maybe just the CARS Characters have the printed items.....

The Cars website has been updated with another video. So far, these videos are highly entertaining. And in this latest one, the finalized model of the Italian racer (forget his name) snuck in partway through! Definitely no accident.

I am really loving all the new sets!

Does anyone know the release date for these? May 1st?

I also hope they release a big DINOCO helicopter with Mater, so my son can fly it around and yell, "I'm Happier then a Tornader in a Trailer Park". I love that scene! Regular blue is too dark, IMO, medium blue?

Speaking of which, where is Chick Hicks and the King, Doc and Ramone? I can't wait for the 2012 releases. I'm not sure who is more excited about this line, me or my son?!
