Haltiamieli Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Which is really a shame is that it seems as if it only includes a stable without any place for the farmer and his family to live (e. g. chimney, some seats, a table). Personally I'm happy that they didn't try to squeeze everything in the same building, though obviously it would be great if we would ALSO get the actual farm house (in another set, otherwise this would be too big/expensive). I'm planning to use the Siskind's Blacksmith Shop (built from spare bricks, not the real one) as the farm house. I think it will fit well for the role. Quote
kabel Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Wow, this is really cool stuff ... I totally love the new/newly painted animals, and the best thing is, that I'll have the dough to buy all four of them, given the fact, that I'll not get into POTC. So hopefully TLC continues this approach to the castle theme and brings us even more civilian sets in 2012. After the total screw up during the last decade, this now brings Lego Castle back to where it belongs!! Quote
Baylego Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Wow these are some of the best castle sets I have seen in a while! The mill is a must have for me. Has anybody else spotted the huge range of new weapons in Blacksmith's Shop? I count 6 or 7 new molds. Quote
Zorbas Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 The new sets look fantastic! Lots of great details, new beautiful animal molds - beautiful! The overall design of the sets is really eye catching and I'm more than sure that this is going to be one expensive year even for those who are not dedicated fans of the Castle theme. These are a must buy! Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Wow! I was not expecting that many new weapons! These are the answers to our prayers! all those weapons are also available in the "heroica" board games Quote
Nicker Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 All these sets look pretty good! From what I can see I really like the new barding on the dragon knights horse. Looks like there are also some great new minifigs I will definitely be getting one of each of these when they come out. Quote
ProducePrincess Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I'm kinda wishing I didn't take apart my market village now that there are sets that would look good with it. Chickens are a nice thing but they don't look like lego to me somehow. Most of the sets seem to have more to them but it makes me wonder how much they will be. Quote
Fives Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 WOW!!!!! These are just plain amazing! LEGO has done a great job on this new wave of Kingdoms. Is it just me, or do the civilian buildings look a lot like the Rohan buildings from Lord of the Rings I need (not want) all of them! Quote
SWMAN Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) After actually seeing these sets built and set up, I am a lot more impressed with them than I was before. My only quip is the fact that Lego can never seem to decide what legs and torso's figures should have. The colors change constantly it seems like. One plus though is the fact that there are finally more Dragon (bad) knights than there are lion (good) soldiers. Since the castle line first began the good guys have always had so many more soldiers than the bad guys. It looks like they are finally trying to remedy that. Edited February 6, 2011 by SWMAN Quote
Shroffy123 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Wow these sets look amazing. Two new horse designs; including a grey colored horse. The battle axe, dragon knight bard and shield, new sword design. This is going to be an expensive lego year :/ :) Edited February 6, 2011 by Shroffy123 Quote
metalandi Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Who said that the dragon knights where the "bad" guys and the lion knights the "good" ones? Actually, in the medieval age there were always fights between kingdoms, i don't think anyone can say that one faction is good and another bad. Quote
Niku Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 When in a matter of a day a topic comes from the page 36 to the 41, you know something important is happening. Well i just have to say it is really amazing the whole new wave of kingdoms, they combine perfectly the civilian and the military parts. New animals, weapons, parts and soldiers on each set is a must have. And for sure i (as many other here i presume ) will get as many sets the wallet can support Oh and thanks for the pics legofreak Quote
Tabris Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I am loving how TLG have turned towards other aspects of daily life in the middle age, such as agriculture and farming, instead of just focusing on military aspects. I'm definetely getting some of these new sets. Quote
Renthicya Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Oh, my god, the first set is extreme! First day buy! Edited February 6, 2011 by Renthicya Quote

Albero - BEL Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 These set are really really nice. not 10/10 for me but more interesting than 2010 ones for sure. Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Ooh pitchforks! Mace's, waraxes, chickens goats and pigs oh my! Quote
JimBee Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Good to see that TLG is going in the domestic-style direction again with Castle. The farm and windmill set looks pretty neat, I like the color scheme. It's nowhere near the caliber of the MMV, but still nice. Quote
Cutty Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Wait a minute! Is that a dungeon-crawling game with troll-microfigs and a viable assortment of new accessories up there? HOW AWESOME IS THIS YEAR GOING TO GET! Stop r@ping my poor wallet TLC, I'm sore already! ;-) I'd never believe this day would come! TLC tapping into the casual-RPG segment * sheds tears of joy* This is so going to become a classic and VERY combinable with stuff like Minotaurus, Lava Dragon, the Ramses-games and ultimately everything that has some fantasy-potential to it. Microfig dungeon-crawl ftw! Please make this a recurring phenomenon and add to that game via expansion sets and alternately themed dungeon sets! Be well all (I CERTAINLY am dudes and dudettes!) Joyful Cutty Edit: Just read at Spieletest.at that different "worlds" for heroica are sold separately! Just as I wished for! YEAH! Hopefully if this game rocks we'll see this running for a loooong time! I could so see this happening! Edited February 6, 2011 by Cutty Quote
Captain Flint Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 This is awesome. Finally, civil castle sets and more than excellent. This is the best after Medieval Market Village. New animals, new prints, pitchfork, new peasant...Oh, this gonna be the good year for us castle fans! Quote
chris_austin Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Am I the only one who doesn't quite like the new goats and chickens? I think that they look very un-LEGO like. It seems silly to say but there is too much detail in them and it looks like they came from some farm toy set and then somebody mixed the bits up with your LEGO. The goat (especially) needs to be a little more square. I hope that i'll warm up to them though Existing animals for comparison: Edited February 6, 2011 by chris_austin Quote

That helmet is just too awesome! Edited February 7, 2011 by I Scream Clone No need to requote a picture a few posts above Quote
