I think that Mill Raid set could be my most wanted set of the year, unless a new modular town building is unvieled. I'm still hoping for a adult castle like the big colectors starwars sets, or even a civilian battle pack would be a great idea, as they always do knight battle packs but one with five peasants and some pitchforks would suit me down to the ground!

Yup, angry medieval mob battle packs. That would be fantastic! Pitch-forks, torches, and dual-side faces. Not to forget the tar and feathers!

That minifigure set is basically a way of disposing of a ton of overstocked parts; I see old pirate parts a PoP outfit, and a whole bunch of castle and kingdoms parts.

What's wrong with that? I don't mind it, I hope that this DACTA set will be available in my country. If it's not too expensive, I'll buy it! Come on, it has 22 minifigs, a HUGE number!

As for the new 2011 Kingdoms sets, I'm happy that we finally have some news!

So, Dragon Knights against peasants? Sounds cool, the sets look good! A LEGO chicken? Great!

The Dragon Knights set looks like a smaller version of the Prison Tower Rescue? I was hoping for a bigger version of this set, not a smaller one! At least it finally has a Dragon Knight on a horse, with a barding too! I guess I'll buy it!

It's true a lot of people will find useful parts, my apologies for scrutinizing it.

Btw how readily available are the Kingdom sets in Bulgaria? I haven't been back there in over 3 years. (za sujalenie mnogo rabota i malko vakancia, no kakvo da se pravi... :sceptic:)

I noticed in the dragon prison set that the arched gate is the same one we get with the Atlantis sets, but could it be in dark pearl?? That would be fantastic!

Where are the 100 pages for this thread?? Awww... seems that there are not enuf fans for Kingdoms or Castle in general, what a disappointment..

Haha, just joking, maybe everyone is enjoying Xmas and New Year. There are only 4 sets for 2011, and they are small sets. I think I'll buy 4x Blacksmith, to get that blacksmith and structure; 4x ambush, to get the trees; 2-3x prison, to get the horse barding and more bricks to extend my prison tower; 2-4x mill to build up my medievel town.

I agree, every Castle Fan is going to by Multiple Mills!

Me being a poor university student, I think I'll have to settle for one, as fan as I am. ;)

Now that I've looked at the MVR pictures long and hard, I'm still wondering what is that grey object the woman in the second floor is throwing at the raiders? Also, is the running villager male or female? It seems that one has red lips and arguably feminine colour scheme. I'm positively perplexed that the barn seems to be four-walled with hinges in the middle, á la MMV. How about the windmill, though - does it have an open back or something else?

Ure lucky to get one. Here,at Serbia, prices are sometimes doubled, sometimes tripled. And i don't like spending much on LEGO.

It's amazing what you can miss when you're away on holiday. These sets look absolutely wonderful. I love that we're starting to see some peasants in the main line this year. The goat and chicken are also greatly appreciated as are the new buckets with handles.

I'm not that fond of the Mill Village Raid as a set, but as a parts pack it looks absolutely incredible with it's dark tan log bricks, goats, chickens, pigs and wide assortment of brown and grey bricks. It wouldn't surprise me if this set was $69 or $79 US which would probably put it around $100 CDN. Still, considering the value of this set as a parts pack it's very difficult to say no here.

The Dragon Prison set looks like a decent mid sized set. It's nice to see the pointed visor return for 2010 (hopefully in dark metallic grey in the final release), and I'm eager to see what the dark green barding will look like when its printed. The strutcture itself is rather bland and I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't use dark green for the grass but the set seems to be more about the figures than anything else. Hopefully this stays around $20 US, although I could see it going for $26.

For me the real steal here is the Blacksmith Attack set. This should be a relatively affordable way to stock up on peasants and chickens while also adding a few dragon knights and armour into your collection. Hopefully this set stays around $10. The only set I'm not too fond of is the Carriage Ambush which looks rather bland to me. Given that it's numbered higher than the Dragon Prison set, I could see this set going for $29 or more. I just don't see the value in it. There are some nice bits in there, but I just can't see myself dropping a lot of money on a set like this.

Overall 2010 looks like it's going to be fantastic for Castle fans. While I would love to have seen the forestmen return, the emphasis on the Dragon Knights and the inclusion of peasants and peasant accessories is hard to pass up.

It's nicely convenient that the blacksmith of Blacksmith Attack doesn't seem to be wearing markedly "blacksmithian" clothes, so one can buy multiples of the hopefully very cheap set and build up the civilian population. I already have two nearly identical blacksmiths, I don't think I need more of them. But I sure need more civilians. :)

Does anyone else notice that there doesn't appear to be a printed design on the barding on the horse of the dragon knight in the Escape from Dragon's Prison set? I wonder if the glare on the page is making it hard to see the print?

Your observation is correct, there is no printing in the barding. However, these are preliminary pictures. There will surely be some sort of printing when the final versions are published. There are bound to be some other differences too, for better and/or worse. :)

I like the plain barding. I realise it'll probably end up with a design on it but it looks okay plain. Lego should do a horse blanket covering for stabled horses.

Ya hopefully these aren't the final designs. I am a bit worried since the 2010 preliminary photos did not change anything that I could see.

Disappointed to not see a bigger set for the dragon faction - like a castle or fortress. But these 4 sets are incredible. Definitely looking forward to them all....

With the excellent horse barding in the 2010 wave I cannot believe that the 2011 barding would be plain. The MVR also includes one dragon with a silver helmet, another indication that these are clearly preliminary. Especially regarding minifigs I would expect changes.

Sorry if this is off topic - Happy New Year everybody!

And now,onto the point.

As I mentioned, this are PRELIMINARY pictures.Which means they are not final.Things could change.

Hello - it's my first time around this part of the forum, but it doesn't seem anyone has pointed this out yet, and I thought you might like to know: I spotted #9349 Fairytale and Historic Minifigure Set on lego.com today. Contains 227 pieces and 22 minifigs, including two skeletons. It's only available in Europe for now, and you can find it under the Minifigures theme in the Lego shop. Price GBP 39.99, NOK 407.50, EUR 47.50. This is probably DACTA stuff, but I'm guessing it will be of interest for a lot of Castle fans as well. For some reason the zoom doesn't work on the pictures in the online Lego shop, but here's a small picture for you:

There's much more than castle minifigs in there, but that does seem to be the main focus.

It's too bad this isn't in the USA yet. I love some of those minifigs.

Also, if you consider that set 7052 from the same catalogue shows a farmer with an old pitchfork instead of a brown trident and many of the other summer sets don't even have final prelinary images (almost everything for the Pirates of the Caribbean line is placeholder), I think it's safe to assume there will be changes between now and July. A number of images from the catalogue appear to be extremely early. I certainly hope we see the classic pitchfork return as I don't think the brown trident looks that good as a substitute. In any case, July is a long way from now.

Looks like the King's Castle set to me. Not all of the sets displayed are 2011 releases.

And above BS attack,Dragon's Prison?

And above Dragon's Prison....King's Carriage???? Anyone?

Left from the yellow car, that should be Dragon's Prison indeed. The front of the box picture is different from the preliminary version, but the box size fits and the twin towers are very similar to the prelim. Above it, it's clearly the carriage, the white horses and white roof gives it away. Above that, in the top left, next to the 5766 Creator log house, you can see half of a box of the Windmill set, so the bottom one has to be something else. Maybe an exclusive...?

Edit: it looks similar to 7946 King's Castle, but not quite the same; picture of 7946 box:
