It certainly is odd to have the king's castle there as the only old set, but it is also odd that the tower in the set is so similar to the one in the castle. A thought occurred to me; what if this is the same castle after a big war? Imagine if the rest of the wall is in ruin, there dragon knights siege equipment, and the only part left standing is the tower?

This may be justified because this wave definitely has the dragon Knights coming in full-strength, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were "winning the war" so far

 Very interesting idea. But i don't think so that mysterious set we see there is that. But maybe LEGO will use the idea.

Wouldn't be too far off from the "Bull's Attack" set from the first "Knight's Kingdom" days.

I'd buy a "Dragons Seige Set" for sure! :classic:

That would be interesting and cool.

I kinda see a dragon in there.

Maybe it's just my hopeful imagination playing tricks on me though

Thank you all very much for the new information and for the links to the pictures! :classic:

I'm really surprised that we'll get two medieval sets as regular sold sets!

Fairytale And Historic Minifigures

These are only minifigs we've already seen or which are put together out of already existing parts! Plus minifigures from many different historic epoch and different stories are thrown together in one set.

Excuse me but I neither want this set nor do see any sense in this set!

Escape From Dragon's Prison

Do we really need another prison?! :hmpf: The dragon tower of 2010 already includes one. Plus the flick-fire misilles look bad and unfitting, too.

The only nice and interesting part in this set might be the horse's cover.

Blacksmith Attack

A small but quite nice set!

I wonder whether the final version will include the new weapons, too, and if yes how they weill look like.

King's Carriage Ambush

I really like this set. It includes a lot of action but nevertheless great details. Finally we get a king's carriage with two horses. That the dragon knights hide in the two trees is a great idea - although I would have prefered forestmen to hide there.

Mill Village Raid

That's a completely amazing set!

I really like the small mill, the small carriage, the house and the new minifigs. The goats are nice, too, although I would have prefered sheep.

But the chicken are imo too alone - where is the cock?! :cry_sad:

Btw: What do you think there'll be for interior for the farmhouse? Upstairs supposably only a rat and some hay bales, downstairs perhaps a chimney, a table and two seats. What do you think?

About all this discussion about another Kingdoms set we haven't seen so far: Imo it's very nearly excluded that we'll get another regular sold Kingdoms set since the pictures in the retailer' catalogue did only show these four. And that there'll be an exclusive Kingdoms set is imo very unlikely, too. Since this is the second wave, a number of four sets sound realistic.

I don't mind another prison set since (imo) it would make a great add on to the tower prison (I think the mounted dragon knight is the best part though  ).

After all... the dragon knights are about raids and prisons, aren't they?

If there is a dragon castle... I'm sure there would be a prison somewhere in the set.

I think this set will makes great addition Klaus. I remade the cell in my tower and I just make antrance to balcony. And big  forDragon barding. can't wait to see finalised pics. But now I want at least 2 Blacksmiths and 3 prisions. I would love to get farm set too. But time (and price) will show!

I think the prison set has to be evaluated on a level of bricks, minifigures and new pieces; after all just because it's called a prison set doesn't mean it has to be one. The cavalry is the definite jewel in that set; with barding, visor helm, and possibly (although not pictured so) a larger dragons shield.

KD, I agree that the New castle is unlikely but the possibility never fails to fascinate people, and to me that box looks different enough to get me excited. (Although I will probably be disappointed  )

As far as a siege set goes, I love the idea, after all this is the first castle line in years that hasn't introduced massive siege engines in the first wave so I figure we're probably overdue for one anyways. :sweet:

I really would like to get a decent siege tower, too, Sirens-Of-Titan, that would be great!

But won't it be strange if TLG released the civilian sets as regular sets and then the set with the supposably highest action potential and biggest appealing to kids as exclusive set?

I don't want to say that this is impossible. But I highly doubt it.

That would be pretty cool, but wouldn't they have discontinued the current King's Castle if they were going to launch a new version of it? I doubt that they want to have two super-sized Kingdoms sets of almost the same product on the shelves at the same time. How many parents are going to buy their kids two versions of the same $100 castle?

I think we all realise that what tests well with kids age 6-14 is what will be mainstream released. AFOL's drive the exclusive market due to larger budgets.

That is true, but why is there a general consensus that kids can't be excited about civilian sets? I mean, when I was 10 I loved playing with the western sets and the Indian village exactly because it represented a very tranquil and domestic scene. It's funny when you think about it that Lego Town is almost entirely made for civilian structures, public transport, supermarkets etc. and kids still dig it. (even if a lot of it is cops/robbers/firemen) It's not too far of a stretch to extend the desire for playing out a civilian role in a medieval setting.

I think this may be a way to sell the farm sets much better than they sold in the City line, because there are also knights, so in a way it's the best of both worlds.

I'd be interested in hearing if anyone knows a statistic about how much profit is generated by AFOL's vs gifts for children, it might explain the phenomenon.

Definitely is a way better to sell a civilian set with a knight, than without for kids.

And about statistics it really would prove interesting to know what percentage of profit AFOL's represent for Lego.

And well returning to the mysterious box, so many ideas have been presented, and many prove to have points of reason and logic. Just wondering if it couldn't be that what we are presented in that box, is a mixure of them all.

At first a siege engine has a lot of sense, since this wave shows Dragons on the offensive in almost all sets, it would'nt be odd if the siege engine is included in, then why such a big box... IHMO the reason could be that they(Dragons) are attacking the border fortress walls of the Lion Kingdom (probably this wall be able to incorporate to the castle itself  ) and a sight to the distance of the king's castle represented by the red tower.

Hi all,

finally we get these pictures.

As everybody else I am very excited about the two civilian sets: the mill and the blacksmith attacks. I must admit, in any case, that I am not impressed by the design of the two sets.

I'm not so excited about the other two sets, even if I have to admit that the carriage set adds something new with the 2 horses and the 2 trees.

Something to notice:

- we don't get any extra faction;

- the dragon knights are definitely the bad guys:

- I am not convinced about the chickens: they appear to be more DUPLOish than the pigs.

I am getting for sure the mill and the blacksmith.

Cheers.

You may very justifiably call me a day dreamer, but boy doesn't it seem that there's a big blue-tailed cock standing on the top of the barn chimney, hiding mostly behind the Kingdoms logo?!? If it's only smoke, it sure looks solid and clearly pronounced and blue-plumed. Though even if it did turn out to be a bird, it might still be brickbuilt á la MMV?

No, they're just practicing total warfare. That doesn't make you bad necessarily

~Insectoid Aristocrat

No, no. The only evil here is the shameful history of the Lion Knights, who annexed the peaceful valley of the Dragon people, massacred Dragon peasants by the hundreds and made it illegal for Dragons to own or operate a smithy, thereby forcing the once-proud Dragon warriors to resort to brigandry to survive and arm themselves against further Lion incursions. The impartial observer will note two very disturbing things in this theme: first, that the Dragons are forced to make use of timber and makeshift weaponry to build even their smallish so-called "Prison Tower" (in reality, a library); second, and more disturbing by far, that there are no Dragon women. One can't help wondering what happened to them, but I think it's clear that the "brave Lion Knights" are not the paragons of virtue that they make themselves out to be.

That was beautiful. And I agree with this!

As for Dragon woman, the "Pirate Wench" is great- She wears Black/Dark green colours.

Nice find, I think you have right! Or maybe the chickens have holes to put plumes in to make cock. That would work! (Red, Green, Blue! And even the fire one to make a fantasy cock xD)

Dragons Forever!

Seems that there're more supporters of Dragons than Lions. For my classic castle collections, I did prefer my Dragon Knights to Crusader. But in the Kingdoms line, however, I think I like Lions more. I just hate the fact that the battle packs for Lions comes with 2 of the old non-visor helmet and 2 normal helmets. What I want is the great helm and the bucket helm.

Back to the original topic, I felt ashamed that you guys have sharper eyes than me. I didn't notice the bucket on the ground, nor the cock on the roof, nor the special pitch fork, neither the green barding. All I notice were the new sets to buy..

Now that you guys mentioned them, I went back to look at my original pictures and 'suddenly' saw them. That is why I to uploaded the leaked pictures, for everyone to see, analyze and discuss.

More discussion please

One of the reason why I am not 100% convinced by the mill set is that the first impression it gave me was a bit a copy-paste of the City farm set 7637

7637-1.jpg

from an architectural point of view, I would have preferred a bigger mill than that huge building that doesn't appear so much "medieval".

A "good" thing is that the set is not too big and the price cannot be crazy.

Wait, are you saying that that indeed is a rooster up on the roof???

I don't really see how those two are similar, except that they both represent a farm. The only similarity structure-wise is the little crane on top of the barn, but it ends there.

The animals are all different, there isn't really a pen of any sorts in the Kingdoms set while the city one has a big one, and the silo represents grain storage, while the mill is grain processing.

Wow! We are getting 50% civilian styled medieval sets in the summer? I am very disappointed Lego did not roll out an unrealistic siege engine with flick fire missiles!

Seriously, the summer kingdoms wave looks intense! Of course the design of the mill and barn is not exactly up to scratch (mainly the barn with its unusual roof colours and design, the mill looks quite nice), and the blacksmith set looks kind of sparse (although it does have a water wheel). But I do not really care, because I am interested in the new civilian torso designs. Its a shame they redesigned the pitch fork, I would have preferred the classic one remade in reddish brown. But all in all, July looks like a very good month for Lego Castle.

Oh I'm not sure, but it certainly looks something like a bird with feathers.

I also disagree that it looks like the City farm. Seriously there are sets with more similarities. Like the carriage vs the 2009 Carriage and the prison vs 2010 PTR.

Having slept over the night, it still does look awfully lot like a backside of a rooster to me. Or, more specifically, like a blue plume piece attached to something dark.

post-14151-129415543897.jpg

This would be very close to how the rooster of the MMV looked like. But would there really be a brick-built animal in this set? It would clash quite badly with the detailed design of the hens, and be huge in comparison. Could it be a preliminary stand-in? Maybe. Could it be that the rooster mold has a clip for the tail-plume to be attached? Maybe, but that doesn't sound very likely? Also, why is it hidden behind the logo - just an accident which will be corrected for the final set design? Or maybe the rooster will just disappear from the finalized set altogether, and hiding it from the prelim was intentional? So many questions...

Its a shame they redesigned the pitch fork, I would have preferred the classic one remade in reddish brown.

There's a classic pitchfork in one of the upcoming Alien Conquest sets (also preliminary pictures), so it's possible that the brown trident here is just a stand-in. Of course, it could be the other way round too.
