TeufelHund Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) I'll be picking up the Blacksmith shop, Dragon Prison & the Mill set for sure. I'm on the fence a bit about the King's Wagon though - I already have the castle and why a king mounted on such a maginificent steed would resort to riding in a wagon I'll never know - it would have been much better if it had come with a queen instead. EDIT: Actually I just noticed the king seems to have a white torso and red arms, which is the opposite of the King's Castle king - perhaps a new torso print? 3D LEGO Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Is it just me or am I the only one who thought of this when I saw the Kings Carriage? "Robinhood and little John a walking through the forest..." I rob the rich to feed the poor! Quote
Fives Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Is it just me or am I the only one who thought of this when I saw the Kings Carriage? "Robinhood and little John a walking through the forest..." I rob the rich to feed the poor! I think it is too bad the King has no armour piece. At least it is a nice cheap way to get the King. Those trees are very nice. And I also like the Dragon Knight on the warhorse. Quote
phoinix Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Am I the only one who doesn't quite like the new goats and chickens? I think that they look very un-LEGO like. It seems silly to say but there is too much detail in them and it looks like they came from some farm toy set and then somebody mixed the bits up with your LEGO. The goat (especially) needs to be a little more square. I hope that i'll warm up to them though actually i think they look a lot more like playmobil than lego notice the playmobil chicken and goat.. im not a fan of all this detail in lego accesories. Dont get me wrong i love these sets but its a bit non-lego for my taste.. a bit too realistic for an old man like me Quote
josykay Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Oh wow! That is amazing! I really love the mounted dragon knight, even I am missing a lance. But there are no lances at the "Kingdoms" theme at all (except dragon knights battlepack). But every set has some really nice content: - new animals - Battleaxe, Shortsword - new printed horses - of course the mounted dragon knight - amazing buildings - civillian sets - the return of the pitchfork... i am wondering, why the pitchfork has been only used for the very first sets Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Edit: Just read at Spieletest.at that different "worlds" for heroica are sold separately! Just as I wished for! YEAH! Hopefully if this game rocks we'll see this running for a loooong time! I could so see this happening! yeah it seems like I saw a port with a ship and waterfall, a forest with some ruins, the orc castle, and a.. bat themed cave. Quote
kevin1990 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Looks to be: Bow Sword Dagger Crescent Mace Axe From same source (Heroica game, check out the helmet!): Is that a new helmet in the right conor next to the new weapons? Quote
The Penguin Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Looks to be: From same source (Heroica game, check out the helmet!): Thanks a lot for your help! I find the fact that LEGO is actually moving towards new molds and accesories to be very welcome. It's a shame that Heroica has microfigs though. I'd really love to see, say, those orcs in an actual figure-size. Oh, well! For me actually it's kind of a surprise that Kingdoms is becoming better and better because, frankly, I thought that the theme will never be as good as Fantasy used to be. The civillian sets do save the situation. ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 6918 - The smalest set - so, the cool decorations on the roof are stickers?! Anyone else noticed that? I think they are syickers, because they were visible on an earlier photo and here you can't see them - I think it's simply because the stickers weren't applied for the toy fair? As for the rest - The mill is cool, as is the small Dragon Knights fort... with the Dragon Knight on horse, finally! I guess I'll buy these two. Quote

Ah, you are right......but it wasn't a sticker, but a printed 1x4 tile used in Green Grocer set a few years back. Now I feel, that to save money Lego dropped it in favor of a tan chicken and in the box art we have all seen it was a white chicken ! Oh, well......they changed their mind ! Brick On Everyone ! Quote
KurttKrueger Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I am loving all of these Kingdoms sets. The more civilian themed sets, the better in my opinion. Now I can expand my Medieval Market Village with the Farm and Blacksmiths. A proper little hamelt. Also love love love the mounted Dragon Knight with Barding. Gah, now I need to go buy the rest of the existing Kingdoms line! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) You know something, what is my village going to do with two blacksmiths eh ? I feel this new small set is more realistic of how metal work was done in that era.....I watch Timeteam when I can ! Keep on smithing ! Edited February 7, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote

I think I will modify the MMV's blacksmith in a "bakery" or something like that! Quote
frogstudio Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Is that a new helmet in the right conor next to the new weapons? I really love the new sets. Toigh, I must say tht new bow and arrow mold looks like crap!!!! Hope it doesn't end replacing the current one... Please TLG... DON'T!!!! Quote
BearHeart Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 This sets look great for the most part. I like the new accessories and the return of old ones. I'm going to skip out on the carriage set and just put that money towards more blacksmits and dragon prison sets. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 woot! some medieval civilians finally! This next year is going to hurt my lego budget! too many cool sets! Quote
Stiel Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 7187 looks to be real value for money, and the mill is also excellent. The carriage is also nice, but it is too expensive... The new weapons are slightly below par. I don't feel the urge to have them. I also have enough blacksmiths from MMV and the Kingdoms Advent Calendar. Why did it have to be a blacksmith? I think blacksmiths are going to be what police is to city, repeated from time to time. Anyway, the sets on the whole are great, I will surely buy 7187 and 7189. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) Heroica(BABY ORCS) + Castle + 2 smallest sets from POTC and from Ninjago... Ehh Lego You are becoming better and better! ALL HAIL LEGO (and Dragons Knights)! Edited February 7, 2011 by Lordofdragonss Quote
DaleDVM Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Wow this thread is growing by the minute. I am also in love with the new Kingdoms line. I agree with so many comments about the new items in these sets. Barding, new animals, grey horse, pitchforks, oval shield, new civilian torsos, new weapons. OMG! I love the new animals. I understand classic thinking that they don't look like LEGO. However, the horse has been around for almost 30 years. No one complains about horses any more but want to make brick built animals of all other sorts. The way I look at it. The molded animals fit in better with the horse and minifigs. At minifig scale most brick built animals look silly an not lifelike. In 30 years the molded animals will look completely like LEGO because they are LEGO. This may not be exciting for those who collected the city farm or the winter toy shop... but the brown ladder is a real big deal to me. My medieval world needs a lot of these brown ladders for sieges or peaceful uses like getting cats out of trees. I am confused about the comments about mismatched helmets, legs, and torsos? The soldiers don't seem to be mismatched to me? The dragon knights even have dark pearl weapons which can't be said for the battle packs. Quote
BearHeart Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Weird is that the rooster is brick-built whereas the chicken are molded. I think that rooster is supposed to be a weather vane. Its not a live rooster. Quote

Firstly this blacksmith will have a new torso, which is always good for variations. Secondly, why don't you mod your excess blacksmiths into other craftsmen like potters, carpenters, glass-blowers, shoe-makers?... you name it. A black apron is generic a working-attire enough to represent many professions. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Wow. Even though I don't spend very much on castle, I will have to pick up that blacksmith set. Is that bucket a new mold? It would be perfect for my beach scene. Quote

So I need to look for value for money as well, and I expect more from a $10 set. Maybe it's just me. Who knows, maybe I will come to like it eventually... Edited February 7, 2011 by Stiel Quote

A black apron is generic a working-attire enough to represent many professions. Maybe there's someone out there who builds an army of blacksmiths to sell them to. I have no need for so many boring civilians! YAWN (I also have no room for so many civilian sets what with all my armies & castles... and spaceships...) Quote
KristofBD Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 That's a very valid point, sir. However, I'm also on a budget. Like, on a very strict one. So I need to look for value for money as well, and I expect more from a $10 set. Maybe it's just me. Who knows, maybe I will come to like it eventually... I guess it all depends on what you consider good value for your money. I can understand that the minifigs can be a reason to stick to only one of those sets. I think it a good set because of the weapons and armour, and the bucket and the chicken as well as the two minifigs and some good building parts. But obviously if you value these pieces less, it may also be less of a good set to you. Quote
