And they are worth around 1-2 dollars compared to the 3 dollars regular minfiigures are. The use of skeletons no doubt saved lego money for those sets. Still those sets were incredibly cheap for army building even if you threw out the skeletons. Yeah but skellies are cool, and I still should have bought a load of sets for lots of weapons and shields, I didn't even manage to get a skellie oval shield, because I only really started buying fantasy era when the orcs came out (I love orcs ) . But at least I managed to get two prison carriages for he skellis. Quote

And 3 skeleton horses (from the same sets). and 2 black skeletons from the drawbridge defenses. I guess I will have to settle for what I have. Plus I have like 20 ninjago skeleotns and like 30 classic skeletons so that should be enough for now. Quote

I mainly love orcs not just because there so cool but because I collect warhammer orcs aswell. And I have a feeling we won't get another wave, mainly because the most recent wave only had four sets and there hasn't really be'n any rumours or premlinary pics of another wave. Quote

I think he was just naming all the possible names people might call them. And if you swap legs with your dwarves you get goblins! I wanted to get into warhammer but decided against it, since for lego no painting or gluing is required. And that means poses can be adjusted forever until the limbs become too loose to hold a pose. And you can swap out weapons, shields, and helmets forever. Unless the hands break. Quote

They didn't mind the occasional wizards/witches, ghosts, skeletons and dragons from before. But then dwarves, trolls and mass skeletons. Which is why they like Kingdoms so much because its closer to the older castle themes. There was only the wizard and the dragon babies/statues. I keep on telling myself to buy older castle minfiigures off of bricklink or decent ebay lots. But I just don't like them as much as the newer minfigiures. The newer ones have fancier printing. And also I get upset when I don't have lots of the same minifigure. For older ones, I can buy only like 1 from each seller, making it a pain just to get like 10 minifigures, and then by then there is no more of them. except on ripoff prices on ebay (which other people gladly pay). But I should at least get 19 Oval crown knight shields since I only have 1, but I have 20 crown knight horse bardings (yet only like 13 helmets but I can switch them up with the kingdoms ones. It's no longer uniform but I like the diversity.) Or just use the triangular shields, I got like 20 of those. Edited August 8, 2011 by ziljin Quote

Anyway, Well they had dragon knights and dragon masters before. and a lot of them were non-realistic like the rainbow knights. There was always a hint of fantasy, but only the 2007 went full fantasy. And now its usually humans vs aliens. Quote

I just took the plunge and ordered a bunch of older minfigures on bricklink. Don't even know what most of them are but I will figure that out later on. I tried to only buy the 3 dollars or less minfigures. Turns out there are lots of older minfigures for around 2-2.50 each. Hopefully they make more fantasy themes too so I can have an elf army, more troll factions, and maybe more dwarf factions? even more undead factions? I got some golden staff guardains for 10 mummies. Without any doubt I count myself a fantasy fan (I've been a chair member of the Finnish Tolkien Society for a few years already, for example), but still... when it comes to Lego Castle, I find myself liking the "realistic" themes more. And one reason I can come up with is that human factions are more versatile. Compared to the possibilities of all the yellow faces and "realistic" torsos accumulated through the decades of Castle theme, other factions are more or less doomed to be a bit boring: Lego trolls are nice figs, for example, but there were (iirc) only three different faces, two of which were very rare. There weren't that many torsos either, and the skin colour means that you can't easily swap different torsos from other themes or eras. This can lead to nice if a bit clone-like armies, but otherwise the possibilities are much more limited than with human factions, even if they change colours and insignia from time to time. Quote

That is certainly a problem!!! I don't mind the clone faces, seeing as I got like 30+ of each face by now. But the lack of torsos or factions for the trolls is a problem. For dwarfs you can swap torsos easy and make different factions though. I hope to get enough trolls to at least split it between copper helmets and black helmets. For skeletons, luckily there is classic, Fantasy white, and Fantasy Black, and ninjago. And some face variants for the white skeletons for pre fantasy, and for ninjago. Skeletons are definitely the most diversified fantasy race so far and have decent customization potential. At the very least, just use the human shields and and armor pieces and you got various undead factions. Dwarves are semi customizable since you can use any torso/shields. I guess any helmet, and beard/nobeard if you have enough short legs to make them into dwarves. Quote

You can always add Shorter legs, vikings helmets, dwarf helmets(without wings) like me. My problem is, that almost every orc in my army have the same head. Quote
