Oh my word!!! I want it so bad. But don't like the randomness or fishing for the dwarf. And probably going to be 5+ bucks each on bricklink. =(.

That is certainly a problem!!! I don't mind the clone faces, seeing as I got like 30+ of each face by now. But the lack of torsos or factions for the trolls is a problem. For dwarfs you can swap torsos easy and make different factions though. I hope to get enough trolls to at least split it between copper helmets and black helmets. For skeletons, luckily there is classic, Fantasy white, and Fantasy Black, and ninjago. And some face variants for the white skeletons for pre fantasy, and for ninjago. Skeletons are definitely the most diversified fantasy race so far and have decent customization potential. At the very least, just use the human shields and and armor pieces and you got various undead factions. Dwarves are semi customizable since you can use any torso/shields. I guess any helmet, and beard/nobeard if you have enough short legs to make them into dwarves.

Ok guys could you please keep the discussion on track. This is the Kingdoms thread, not the aliens vs fantasy vs castle thread. If you wish to discuss this kind of topic it is better suited to its own topic either here if History specific or in General discussion. Then you can discuss the merits to and for till your hearts content. Other members would like to find out about 2011/12 Kingdoms sets and their availability.

Sweet! I'd love a joisting set. I had set #6060 Knight's Challenge as a kid and loved it. Multiple bardings plus 8 characters! I doubt a new one would have the same quantity, but it'd still be neat.

The aforementioned rumour was about the exclusive set 10223, yet unrevealed, that would be called "Joust". As such, it wouldn't exactly be a "cheap way to get a barded dragon knight and lion knight", but could be all kinds of awesome otherwise! ...if it just would be true. We'll see. :classic:

I actually asked Mirandir (the person whose told us basically everything we know about 2012 sets) myself about Kingdoms in 2012, and he said that he hadn't heard anything.

That doesn't necessarily mean we won't be getting anything, but judging by the first 2 wave (both summer), I'd say we won't see any sets in the January wave. :sadnew:

I would love to see a Joust set in summer though, just around my birthday.

Yeah, it seems to be almost certain that there won't be any normal Kingdoms sets in the January wave. But if on the other hand there really would be an exclusive set, January would be a natural time for its release, to give (adult) fans some fodder and not to eat away sales from the normal retail line. Compare for example to Harry Potter summer waves and January release of Diagon Alley. Similarly the Medieval Market Village seems to have been released in the end of 2009, while the last normal wave of Fantasy Era appeared in the summer.

I really, really, really hope we get an exclusive set, jousting or something else entirely, before Kingdoms is finished and gives way to the next contender. Though of course I hope Kingdoms will continue at least through 2012 anyway.

MMV was released at the end of 2008, not 2009, but otherwise I agree with your thoughts.

Oh I wanted an advent calendar but apparently waited too long. They were all sold out her by around December 5th. I'll know better next year.

Posted on Toys 'n' Bricks Facebook page today: [uSA] Amazon Kingdoms 2010 Advent Calendar $37.99

If you missed out on the 2010 Kingdoms Advent Calendar, you can find it on Amazon for $37.99, free shipping and no tax in most states. MSRP was $34.99. Just a reminder that Amazon prices can fluctuate frequently so get it while you can.

How about the first wave's impulse sets and polybags. We had a Wizard impulse and a Jester impulse. There was also a Target Practice polybag here in the US in somewhat sparse/limited release. I don't suppose there's any chance of seeing some little sets like that for 2011? Are those things usually a surprise or announced ahead of time?

I saw that, and didn't act on it right away. After my lunch break, prices were back up to $49 or so. My loss. :(

Guess it must just be what area you live in. Both Targets in my area have had them for a while. Bought another again yesterday.

Yes, we got the Imperial Flag Ship at the end of 2009/beginning of 2010. I like that we've been getting something in a medieval/fantasy/wizard-y, large scale set to kick off the beginning of the year. I'm also in the camp that's hoping for something new and awesome set come the first of the year...

It must vary greatly since I haven't seen that set anywhere in town. I've only heard of it because of the forum and peeron inventory.

I am looking forward to the Joust exclusive set. As a reply to beefbanana I am sure it will come with barding. The problem is the set will not be cheap. Hence not a way to get cheap barding. More like expensive barding.

If Kingdoms does end here it will be fine with me. I have hundreds of figures from both factions and I am ready for the next product to come out.

As a final aside the fantasy sets sold much better than kingdoms. Adults may like human factions better but kids like the fantasy elements better.

If so, I hope it's barding exclusive to the set.

Really hope we get prelim pics soon! Guessing it will be a Jan release which means it will be out for Christmas.

If that's the case, I really hope we see a UCS castle set soon as it may be our last opportunity. A joust set does sound appealing as it could come with copious helpings of brown bricks and tiles for the fenced areas.

If Kingdoms is a dud like your suggesting, we'll probably be seeing elves and dwarves again in the near future. This should thrill most fantasy fans!

I actually have read that Kingdoms is selling better than the Fantasy era before.

Any news on the Joust set? (I hope it has some trees, if it is a 100 series set it should be massive and well done )

yes if it is the last kingdoms set I will be happy with it. But I hope it isn't I want more Civilian sets and Forestmen first
