Siegfried Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 As many have said, topics like this belong in Culture and Multimedia.
XimenaPaulina Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Now that this topic is in the appropriate forum, I'd join in the fun. The best jedi for me is obviously Yoda, Mace comes in close second. But my most favorite is Kit Fisto, he just looks really 'cool'.

Yes, Yoda then Mace Windu would be "the best" so to speak, my favourite is definitely Obi Wan but apparently he's not allowed so my next favourite... is........... ummmm... uh... um........... Yoda? I do really like Plo Koon, Kit Fisto & Luminara Unduli.

I juwt have a soft spot for libraries, I guess, and Jocasta Nu was never one of my favorites.
ADHO15 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 My favourite Jedi is of course, Ad-Hoh! Like a growing number of people, I've always liked Kit Fisto. He's a powerful Jedi Master as well as a great-looking character!
XimenaPaulina Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Mu favourite is Master Ima Gunna Di Already your favorite even after only minutes of exposure? But I must say his last stand was a really martyric and honorable death.
-JD- Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hmm. It's a difficult choice! Mace is so bada$$, Fitso so skilled, Aayla so sexy and Vos so interesting. I'd probably go with Mace. Curse you for killing him Palpy!
Skafte Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 So. Best Jedi, huh? We cannot choose Obi-Wan, well he's an old fart and dies in the first film anyway. Yoda is an even older fart who appears in a swamp in the second film and dies in the third. Luke is a whiny farm boy who eventually becomes the hero of the series. I vote for Luke.
legolandia Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I find it difficult to choose the best jedi due to the fact that the novels are mainly concentrated on a few Jedi only ( Yoda, Qui Gon, Anakin, Obi, Mace Windu). I hope in the future writters will decide to write novels based on the other jedis of the order so that we get to know them more in depth. I quite like Kit Fisto although the brief scene in Episode 3 made it appear that he was killed pretty easily.
Artanis I Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I quite like Kit Fisto although the brief scene in Episode 3 made it appear that he was killed pretty easily. That scene seems so rushed, like they did it all in one first take. The swordplay acting is crap. Palpatine (when you can see his face) fights like a sissy but somehow quickly kills 3 awesome jedi masters who have rubbish defence - and they've just been fighting in a war for 3 years so they can't possibly be out of practice. After watching the animated stuff it really is hard to watch and believe this part. Such a shame, as there are heaps of good sword-fighting scenes in the movie. Mace v Palpy was good, but the 4 on 1 part was absolute bulsht.
XimenaPaulina Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I quite like Kit Fisto although the brief scene in Episode 3 made it appear that he was killed pretty easily. But as a sissy 'consolation', besides Mace, Fisto was the last one standing among the three, though yeah he was rather killed easily. (shameless defense of Fisto ends here. ) That scene seems so rushed, like they did it all in one first take. The swordplay acting is crap. As much as other fans (OT/PT) despise the CW series, I think the closest representation of the jedi powers and abilities are best captured there. In the movies, the jedi abilities are somehow humanized and a bit below jedi-level, and in the cartoon series it was too much exaggerated, so I think the jedi abilities are just right smack in the middle in CGI series. If you've seen how great of a swordsman Fisto (ehem, another shameless promotion) was in the Lair of Grievous episode, the way they represented Fisto (and the other jedi) in the movies are just lame.
CMP Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I can believe that Palpy got the advantage on the first jedi when he surprise attacked him. The 2nd? Well... The third, after 3 seconds? No. But then again, Palpy is probably the best swordsman at that time. He was equal to Yoda, and only let Mace win to finish Anakin's turning. Anyway, mine would have to be Quinlan Vos.
XimenaPaulina Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Palpy is probably the best swordsman at that time. He was equal to Yoda, and only let Mace win to finish Anakin's turning. Really? Hmmm... I thought Mace was really winning there, I mean he's at least the equal of Yoda in terms of swordsmanship. It just turned out Anakin arrived on time to spoil the party.

No, when Mace has the lightsaber at Palpatine's throat, Palpy's still in the weak politician act, and hasn't used Force Lightning to it's fullest extent. After Mace was attacked by Anakin, Palpatine says 'Unlimited power!' and almost casually blasts Mace out the window. Mace was already using much of his concentration to deflect the initial lightning assault. If Anakin wasn't there, I think Palpy could just increase the power and get the same result.
CMP Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Hell, if it had nothing to do with Anakin, he would've just blown up all of them with one barrage of lightning.

So I underestimated Palpy, I never knew he was that strong and Mace can't beat him (?) His old looks sure was deceiving, or his acting is just Oscar-worthy. "Help me, Anakin, help me, I'm too w-w-w-eak, I c-can't hold on anymore..." Edited October 20, 2010 by KielDaMan
CMP Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 If he can 'defeat' Yoda, I'm sure he could've just beheaded Mace whenever he wanted to.
Artanis I Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 What Palpatine should've done, was toy with them for a while then say "Oh there's something I ought to tell you: I'm not left-handed either" and THEN he can whoop them quickly.

He was the true master and more powerful than all of them put together so I really have no quibbles with the scene. Then he says, "Unlimited power!" so I guess the power also can refer to his sword fighting skills and his force powers. To reply to the question, my favourite jedi is Obi-Wan but my second is Mace Windu. His purple lightsabre is so badass! Also, he's the most powerful jedi only second to Yoda and most of the time he seems really pissed about something so hes really cool imo.

Mace is like always poker face dead-serious. Maybe Joker has something to say to him: "Why so seriousss..?"
Skafte Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 "Unlimited Power!" sounds like it comes from Pokemon or something like that
Brickdoctor Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Hell, if it had nothing to do with Anakin, he would've just blown up all of them with one barrage of lightning. Yep. Remember, in RotJ, the lightning was so strong that Luke couldn't move. And the lightning obviously comes in two forms: 'stun', used by Dooku in Ep. 2, and 'kill', characterized by turning the body transparent so you can see the skeleton. (used by Palpy in 3 and 6)
simonjedi Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 One of the problems with the prequels is that Lucas showed Palpatine/yoda fighting. Well when I say fighting I mean flipping around like a spazz. Palpatine/Yoda don't need lightsabers. Out of interest OP, why can't we choose Anakin or Obi wan?
Lord Embo Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 My favourite Jedi? Mace Windu by far. Too bad Palpatine totally owns him, with the intervention of Anakin(note to self: in the process of executing a Sith Lord, make sure Anakin's not in the room or another Jedi is there to occupy him).
