xwingyoda Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Hey Guys and Gals, I went to TRU today to get a KK2 set and my eyes couldn't believe what they saw !! The brand new new ISD (set n Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 Tks guys for bearing my one day teasing !! Now onto the real Review on my actual birth day hehe my present for you lool ;-) )!! First off I will start by saying that it was a fun build, very enjoyable indeed !! Lets start by some general pics of this slick ISD (oh boy I really love the shape of this ship !! Its a perfect addition to my Imperial collection arw arw arw !!). Hide you puny rebels !! Run away, Run away X-D This ship is divided into two main parts: the huge hull with opening Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 The Hull is sub-divisible into the front and rear (as pictured). The front of the ships reveals the escape pod. There is a mechanism that Quote
ApophisV Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Great review! You showed us so much of this set, mayn things I havent noticed before! (The helmet holder, the sliding back of the tower,...) Actually I really like the hull design and the figs, but the interior doesn't appeal to me... It looks kinda... unfinished. Had been great to have some real walls between the rooms and not those multi-colored technicbricks constructions... *n* And I have to agree with you, the TransNeonGreen on the outside is probably the worst color choice they could have done (okay, besides TransPink with Glitter) So thanks alot for this review and have lots of fun with this "Birthday present"!!!! Ras 74 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Great review!!! Will take a closer look at it as soon as I quit my job for today. Have a great one my friend! Quote
Vader Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Now thats what i call a great review :-) This is a set that i was not too sure about but after seeing your pics and reading your review im sold!! :-) Now where can i get the money for this set :-D Quote
natelite Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 My son likes to play with sets. The B-wing, A-wing and tie interceptor came apart after some heavy playing. If the SD is as fragile as you said, I might not get it. EUR150 may translate to US$180. that's slightly too expensive for me. :P Quote

I would recommand you to get it as a collector, but its really not intended for playing with ;-) *yoda* Quote
natelite Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 thanks yoda. i'll definitely think about it. maybe it will be a "daddy only" set. $100 is probably decent. and if what you said is true maybe i'll get a few to sell on ebay. >:-) um, what's the parts count? it's not shown on the box for some reason. hmm... I can't tell you the parts count because in Europe they don't put those anymore on boxes which is stupid !! We'll have to wait until its on the US SAH for the answer to your question ;-) *yoda* Quote
natelite Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I looked up peeron and it was listed as 1366 parts and *drum roll* $100. WOW. How did it end up as EUR150 with EUR trading higher than US$? It seems cheap at $100. >:-) thanks yoda! great review! Quote
Morten Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Great review Yoda, very nice pictures and descriptions. I will get this set as soon as I can. I think in Denmark it will be around 140 euros, that is what it says in the danish catalog (999 kroners). We have a danish guy giving 20% dicount an all new sets, that means I will pay 107 euros, wich i okay. Generally LEGO is a lot cheaper in USA than in europe. I allways buy a lot of sets when I am on vacation in USA. It is around 35%-40% cheaper than in europe! Morten Quote

KimT Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Must have ISD *wub* *wub* Thanks for a great review though I must comment the excessive use of Technic parts :-X Meesa no lika Technissa :-( But as a collector I'm definately going to get this set - with the famous 20 percenty off X-D X-D Christian - call the real-world shop version of Bricks4You - it's in Randers if I remember correctly KimT Quote
sam89 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Yoda, would you recommend this set to someone who already has the UCS ISD? Is it still worth it? Quote
phoinix Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 great review yoda! i would like to see more and more pictures of this set...what are the dimencions of it? the price of the ISD in the greek catalogue is 130 euro Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 Sam, I would definitly recommand buying this set even if you have the UCS ISD !! Here are a couple of bullet points to why ;-) * Collectors must have all * This one has a lot of great MF that will not be released in other sets (GM Tarkin and probably R5-D5) * The dimensions make it easier to display :-D (thats why my UCS is still MISB lool) * The small features are rezally nifty and nice !! phoinix, As I was explaining in the previous paragraph this set is much easier to display !! Here are the approx dimensions: * L: 60 cms * W: 36 cms * H: 25 cms Hope this helped ;-) *yoda* Quote
sam89 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Thanks Yoda. I may be picking this up for my birthday (in September *wacko*). Either that or the Batcave, which is the same price. Quote
Andrex Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 O M G WOW! Thanks so much for all these pictures, I REALLY want this EVEN MORE now, and that is something! As soon as it is available to buy online, I am ordering! Great photos, I really appreciate them, and there is so much to love about this set! I personally HATE stickers but oh well, it is just you spend SO LONG TRYING TO GET THEM JUST RIGHT! And wow, Vader kneeling, now THAT is a kewl feature! Next stop, SAIL BARGE! Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 Thanks Yoda. I may be picking this up for my birthday (in September *wacko*). Either that or the Batcave, which is the same price. Yeay, really tough decision there Sam !! Those (at least for me) are the biggest most anticipated sets of this year !! (+ add the sailbarge as well !! I can't wait for a new Boba X-D :-P ). Army Building *yoda* Quote
Deinonychus Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Great Review *y* Just one question...can you compare it's weight to any other larger Star Wars (or other) sets? I'm kind of wondering if I'll be able to hang this from the celing without too much difficulty, and having something to heft would help Quote
dunamis Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Wow, cool set! Thanks for all the photos. So, obviously it is available in Europe if you just strolled into a TRU and picked it right up. I wonder when it will be available in the US? Quote
rhymer Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Do you mind if i ask HOW YOU GOT THIS THING?...please. Quote
