squizz Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 One thing i have to say is, these mocs are just amazing in there detail and realisim. Ingmar and Han are the two guys that have re-inspired my technic addiction. I have always loved big prime mover trucks and trailers, and over here in Oz we have our far share of over sized road trains, b-doubles and now b-triples running around in our city streets. I think Ingmar's trailers,or a version of them will make a great b-double moc,.... my question is does anyone have some plans, or experience building these? Quote
DLuders Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 (edited) On MOCpages, Ingmar Spijkhoven is known as "2LegoOrNotToLego": http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/34273 . Here they are: He has posted many of his MOCs on his Brickshelf gallery too. There are sets of detailed pictures of the MOCs above, plus more: Edited October 23, 2010 by DLuders Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Wow, those are some of the most beautiful LEGO trucks I've ever seen.. He has posted some instructions to create the truck frames (which are works of art in themselves), but no full instructions sadly. Quote
me00rjb Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 .... my question is does anyone have some plans, or experience building these? I managed to build a copy of the blue, white and red US truck from the pictures posted, so it can be done! I've not got around to ironing out all the bugs yet, but they are amazing models! Quote

Did you buld the truck body with all the suspension, rubber band etc? I was thinking for my first attempt,i was going to have a crack at a more simpified version as i don't have all the lego rubber bands and the like. Quote
jovel Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Very nice models! Both functions and looks are awesome. Quote

Hi Squizz, I made it as close to the original as I could (except I cheated and used light bluish grey parts rather than chrome, due to cost). The rubber bands are easily available from BrickLink (some of the other parts are a bit more difficult to find though). It would be possible to build a rigid chassis and keep the same bodywork to simplify things I would have thought. I only have some very poor pictures which don't do it justice: I built the model in MLCAD first: Quote

Bricksonwheels Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) Haha.. you shameless copycat It is good though that you credit Ingmar, he is a great guy and a very talented builder. See here: Dutch Truckbuilders The render is a very good job. Edited October 25, 2010 by Bricksonwheels Quote
Enilder Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Are MLCAD models available for people? I'd be great if someone can post the link. Thanks. Quote
me00rjb Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Thanks so much for all your work on this. I have more renders running as I type. I think the next question is obvious. What about the trailer? No problem at all, the render looks excellent, looking forward to seeing the rest (you even spotted all the bits I didn't put in)! In fact, I have to agree with jantjeuh, it almost does look better than the real thing! There's just something about this model that sets it apart from the rest; I think a lot of it is down to the colour scheme. Well, I suppose it does need something to pull...can't promise anything immediately, but it is on the to-do list! Should be fairly straightforward after the truck itself... Richard. Quote

Being a bit of a silly bloke, i don't really understand this MCLAD stuff, but it cerntanly seams to do a really great job in helping out the build. Blakbird Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 OK, I've been collecting parts to build this wonderful truck, but I've noticed a rather considerable problem. According to Bricklink, this big 9x13 bar in back does not exist in blue, yet the picture below clearly shows it in blue. Where did it come from? Quote

So it was available once, but I guess now it isn't, this happens to more parts once in a while...I don't know what or how... It's very clever of you to create a MOC which no one can possibly duplicate because one of the parts does not exist! It sure has me curious though. Apparently this part never came in an official set, yet someone sold you one. I know that LEGO designers have access to part colors that were never actually released, and it is possible that someone got one of these somehow and sold it. It seems unlikely that anyone else is going to get one though. I guess I'll have to use a different color! Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 It happens that Q-elements show up in the stores at LEGOLAND and other Pick-a-brick-places. Also bricks which falls off the production line gets collected and shipped to various purposes, mostly donations to orphanages and such. Quote
me00rjb Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 OK, I've been collecting parts to build this wonderful truck, but I've noticed a rather considerable problem. According to Bricklink, this big 9x13 bar in back does not exist in blue, yet the picture below clearly shows it in blue. Where did it come from? Since BrickLink did away with the all time price guide when the multiple currency system was implemented, one-time sales of rare parts disappear into history! This is one of those parts that was once available, but hasn't sold in the last 6 months. Doesn't mean there isn't another one out there somewhere! I substituted the blue bar for a black one, and don't think it looks too bad at all. As others have said, parts not available in official sets show up for sale regularly on BrickLink. One source I have heard quoted is the model makers at the LEGO Land parks can order elements in one-off colours, and no doubt some of these find their way onto the market one way or another. I can't remember any other colour substitutions I had to make, other than opting for Light Bluish Grey and not Chrome / Metallic Silver for some parts. Richard. Quote
isukki08 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 How you have done that middle steering axle (MOCUSTruckT3) how long that flex cables are there or how you connect that it´s fit to move right! Quote
