I'm sorry for being a bit late in posting this (it's been up for a week or so elsewhere) but hopefully better late than never. Inspired by the 1931 Dracula movie starring Bela Lugosi. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Wow, that's just amazing! Well done Mark, your work is one of the most impressive things I've seen lately! The black and white photography looks great for a MOC like this and there are so many details, I honestly don't know from where to start.

The Great Hall looks fantastic and the light that comes from the windows really adds to the whole "haunted" environment. Count Dracula himself holding a candle looks great and the image with the fireplace and the painting above it is just like a movie scene.

One of the most atmospheric creations I've ever seen, hands down. Well done for once more! :sweet:

WOW! Simply fantastic Halloween creation Mark! This has got to be the best black-and-white MOC I've seen! The grayscale tone, plus the impressive lighting effects perfectly captures the Dracula castle atmosphere. You're good Sir, really good, my hats off to you.

This should easily go into the Historic Photography thread. The photographing makes this already great work totally outstanding.

Wonderful! The black and white pictures really bring it together, and the amount of details are amazing! I especially like the staircase and the arch above the door. Keep up the great work!

There's something to be said about great photography. The very best MOCs only appear great when properly staged and photographed. Needless to say, you've really breathed life (or perhaps death) into this MOC with your shots. The light streaming through the window is absolutely haunting. It really sets the mood.

Just one quick question; how did you manage the lighting in the third photograph?

Thanks for the good word. To answer your question about lighting - I used an underexposed shot, and a flashlight for the candlelight. The flashlight was small to begin with, but I built a mask made of bricks with a single "1 x 2 technic w/ one hole" piece in the very center. The mask resulted in a very focused beam of light that I could then use to emphasize a certain area.

OK, wow, that is amazing photography work, as well as an immensely impressive room. It is literally to scale, at least I think so.

Very impressive, seeing this gives me an idea for a classic mafia game.

After having just watched that film on television yesterday, I can say that upon seeing your first image, I thought, "That is identical to the stage/scene in the original Dracula movie!" You mention that the film was an inspiration for this MOC, and I can tell that you've captured it perfectly.

Fabelhaft! I can't begin to explain how awesome this moc is! I really loved looking at all the detail.

Really, fantastic work. Perfect moc. :sweet:

Now I've gotta go see the movie!

I was admiring this when I saw it blogged on TBB, I'm glad it was built by an EB member! Really awesome work here, the details are superb and I really like the derelict but not overly rubble-strewn look of the place. The lighting and overall presentation is commendable, certainly not something you see done with Lego everyday. Thanks for sharing it here with us. :sweet:

Wow... What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is phenomenal!

If there were higher resolution pictures, this would make fine Halloween themed wallpaper!
