Posted October 25, 201014 yr I decided to try make a very small model powered by 2 M motors. To transfer power to the wheels, I connected the swing arms using a 3L beam into a kvasi- pendular axle. it behaves like a pendular axle, even thought its actually a linked independent suspension. To keep the truck upstraight I used 4 rubber beams. The end reulst is a truck, that can climb, steer sharply, or do wheelies! As usual here is an LXF file. The wheels and few parts are missing, but the basic stucture is easy to build. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/FormulaOffroad/formulaoffroad.lxf
October 25, 201014 yr Very nice. And driving this one on only 2 wheels is hilarious. I like this little fellow
October 25, 201014 yr Hi, I just checked, I have all the parts :) Finally something to do on the weekend :) Thanks, Noam
October 26, 201014 yr @ Zblj: This is a nice little MOC! I made a Parts List using LDD Manager, and deciphered the small number of LDD "Import Errors" of parts not in the LDD 3.1 parts pallette (see below). The only thing I'm not sure about is the Power Functions battery box. Did you use the standard 54950c02 "Electric 9V Battery Box 4 x 11 x 7 with Orange Switch and Dk Bluish Gray Covers Complete Assembly Power Functions", or the smaller 8878/ 84599 "Electric Battery Box Power Functions (Rechargeable)"? Bricklink Part Number/ Bricklink Name (Quantity) 58123c01 / Light Bluish Gray Electric, Power Functions Receiver Unit with Dk Bluish Gray Bottom, Complete Assembly (1 ea.) 54950c02 / Electric 9V Battery Box 4 x 11 x 7 with Orange Switch and Dk Bluish Gray Covers Complete Assembly Power Functions (1 ea.) 58120c01 / Electric, Motor 9V Power Functions Small with Dk Bluish Gray Bottom (2 ea.)
October 26, 201014 yr Author I used the old 9V battery box, but you could proboably modify the model to work with newer PF box.
October 26, 201014 yr Yup, same here Looks small, quite easy to build and strong! My son is 2 yrs, so.. this one looks strong enough for him
