Ye Olde Pirate Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) Hello Everyone! I started this MOC before my Minstrel Boy MOC and now I have finished it. I am very pleased with how it turned out: Link: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/233205 Enjoy! Please tell me how I did. God Bless. Edited November 29, 2010 by I Scream Clone Picture added to post. Admiral Ron Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I like it. I think that the roof is too tall though, perhaps make it 2 sided instead of 1 sided? But I really like the archery range, and that poor grandfather and soon-to-be-dead grandson. Keep up the good work! Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 That's pretty cool! I like your stone path. Quote
charlieboy Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Looking very smart! Those old archery targets can be found cheaply on bricklink,i picked a few up recently Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Very nice archery range, really nice way to use ye olde archery targets. Good work! Quote
Ye Olde Pirate Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Thanks everyone for the comments! God Bless. Quote
mikey Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 This is nicely set out, with a good story involved also! The hut has is built well, the control lever sticks as finished arrows is a nice touch. But I also agree that you should have made the roof two sided, as it is a bit steep at the moment. Maybe you could try a Viking Shield as a target? Or a bright coloured 2x2 round plate sat inside a 4x4 round plate (I am sure this has been used in a Kingdoms Promo Pack?). Quote
Big Cam Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 The archery range is cool as is the little hut. I like the pebble walkway but ibwish it was a little more defined. Great work though, makes me miss the old foresters sets. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 AWESOME creation and thanks for the history too.....(now I didn't learn that at school nearly 30 years ago) 'Ye Olde Pirate' ! Poor grandpa eh ? Great firing range and that little shack is too COOL ! Keep on target .....and don't hit grandpa ! Quote
Millacol88 Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Decent! I had a similar idea for a MOC, but never really fleshed it out. Glad you took care of it for me, now I never have to go back to it! One thing I think you should fix is the roof of the shack. I think you should stagger the slopes so that the gaps in between them don't meet across multiple layers. It's a structural and an aesthetic thing. Quote
Ye Olde Pirate Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Thanks guys! I will take all of your comments and advise, and see what I can do! Quote
BrickArtist Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 This is a wonderful little moc! My only critique is the lack of texture on the ground, maybe putting a small hill or just some uneven grass in. But this looks fantastic! Quote
