Superkalle Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 Boundry error with element 4727 Flower stalk It is impossible to place 2 elements next to each other. When you turn the brick 45° it is possible, but then they merge into each other slightly Placement error with element 6255 Leaves 3 elements It is impossible to place the element in the middle of 4 studs. Only at the studs. Well spotted. Regarding placement in middle of 4 studs, there are actually a few parts that has this problem: 3061, 3899, 6255, 30359, 41535, 48457, 33122, 4360. There may be more? These are just the ones that I've noted. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) A pretty problematic error my brother noticed: the 1x1 cone (any version) can only fit over a Technic axle by half a module/stud (4 mm). It should be able to fit over an axle by the equivalent of two plates (6.4 mm). Also, an error left over from LDD 3.0: the BIONICLE minifig heads 53590 and 53591 do not fit on the BIONICLE minifig body 54275. Edited November 20, 2010 by Aanchir Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I just remembered one bug I had encountered before, the helmet cannot be fitted into a minifig with a lifejacket on: Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 What set is that in? I'm pretty sure in real life, in that situation the helmet won't quite fully connect, which is okay for us but as far as LDD is concerned is an illegal connection. Quote

That was just an example, but there are a lot of classic town sets that have these, here are some examples: Quote

Also, the 59900 cone should allow fitting every further in by another 2-3 mm comparted to the other two. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) Here's a problematic one: the hinge piece 30388 cannot be hinged with another piece 30388 at an angle of ninety degrees. (for instance, if you wanted to arrange them in a square with studs facing outward). It also has a visibly different profile than similar pieces like 30364, 30365, 30386, and 30387. This is not the case with the actual brick, which simply resembles an elongated version of 30386 and 30387. EDIT: Also, parts with a 3.2 mm diameter (i.e. parts that a minifig can "grip" onto like piece 4095) cannot fit into part 4289 further than the stud. They should be able to be pushed in until they make contact with the base of the piece. Both of these errors are also courtesy of my brother (who has recently taken to making Coast Guard sets-- I really do need to post some more of the sets he's made recently). private_lego Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 You can't hook anything to hook element 30395. Neither 2376 (round plate with eye) or the 3176 (coupling plate) get connected. This is a standard construction with many lego crane sets. Quote

This is a standard construction with many lego crane sets. I've noticed that too. Apperantly, LDD doesn't fully support that kind of "lose" connectivity type anymore. I know LDD used to support that coupling type, but I guess they revised the rules? Quote
tiammath Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hi. Don't know if someone already reported that. I've some weird connection and nasty gaps with hinge plates. Like that : Quote
Daedalus304 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Found an interesting glitch when I was goofing around in LDD today. Using my touchpad's scroll wheel I zoomed in and out a couple times really fast, and the smaller 2x2 grid sections disappeared. Leaving only a larger, stud-less, grid. I managed to replicate it every time I tried thereafter. When you rotate the camera "underneath" the model, though, the grid returns. I don't know if it's a glitch or even something for them to bother fixing (What kind of person zooms in and out like a madman anyways? ), but just in case I figured I'd report it. I do remember some people disliking the smaller studded grid segments though, so maybe they'll like putting the scroll wheel to use and do without? Quote

Although they are made for each other Also 44358 & 43898 Parabolic reflector don't connect as in set 6211 star destroyer. This is a strange way to build but official. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 While doing the LDD for set 7213, I discovered that the 30395 Towball Hook cannot be attached to the 30396 Towball Socket, which can be fitted in real-life build. Quote
LDDtechnician Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Hi! When trying to build 8296 Dune Buggy I came across this error: The axle of the right crank stop in the middle of the left crank. LDDTechnician Quote

BrickWild Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 And also, LDD automatically quits when I tried to move a 'hinge joint' on a very large model such as my big blue coach, which I recently built yesterday! Possibly due to overload! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 While doing set 3825, I encountered this issue: The 3849 lance piece cannot be inserted into the holes of the 6541 technic brick: Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 While doing set 3825, I encountered this issue: The 3849 lance piece cannot be inserted into the holes of the 6541 technic brick: [snip] It looks like that's because there is no connection between the two. I'd try inserting a half-pin into one of the 1 x 1s, insert the lance into that, and delete the half-pins. Quote

Thanks for pointing out that Doc, it's now working! Quote
private_lego Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Bar 8L with Stop Rings and Pin (Technic, Figure Accessory Ski Pole) Element 2714 does not fit on Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Handles Element 3839 like it should in set 7038 Troll assault Neither does it on elements 4095 or 30374, both bars. Or onto itself (other side) Quote
Jaymercury Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 When you put 4095 standard in to 4460 roof tile the stud dissapears as if it were a brick or plate. Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 It happens to all studded bricks, you attach 4095 on Quote
