The Blue Brick Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) Great little town you got there "greg3". I really love the downsized bank and cute little supermarket. The cottages also have that classic charm to them. The expansion is also looking wonderful with some of the newer city sets. I can't wait to see more future updates. Vindicare Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Neat update greg! I like the rocket testing area, interesting use of 3368 Space Centers pieces. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Still looks great 'greg3'.....little worried about the space program being so close to town though ! Brick On 'greg3' ! Quote
greg3 Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Another update.... Well it seems that the people of Ballabreek have decided the space race isn't for them and the launch facility has closed/been demolished. Instead they're looking back to the past and the tramline has returned (but in a more modern form). The line w/crossing and platform. Close up of the small tram stop/platform. View into the village... More additions to come... Thanks for looking! Quote
LAKAbricks Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Great updates, Greg3 Like Lightningtiger, I was also worried about the satellite lauching facility I'm happy to see the tram line is back to Ballabreek, now upgraded to a modern light rail line. I hope that on hot summer days, the old trams will still be operated for tourists I'm sure, it will make the village bloom again. I like how you have integrated the tram stop with the new square, it all fits the village - and the spirit of a thriving village - very well. I'm looking forward to see further updates. Laka Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Looks better 'Greg3', good to see the light rail being used for your town's public transport.....very GREEN ! Brick On ! Quote
lego-andreas Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 The line w/crossing and platform. You should build in the area on the side to the tram station, like a shop or something. Quote
MadManMingo Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 This town grows on you. I like the fact, that you create a lot of atmosphere with rather simple things. It proofs that you can create a great city without nesecaryly adding expensive modulars or huge skyskrabers. Great effort! Quote
lego-andreas Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 One thing I want to see is a gas station Quote
greg3 Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 No petrol station... yet ! But I have just added a recycling area - I wanted enough space for people to park while they drop stuff off and room for the forklift to work. Still need to add the stickers but I think it looks ok so far... (the green baseplate will be swapped for a dark grey one) Close up of the bins and wheelbarrow storage space!! Had to modify 4206 a bit to fit it in and still have room for the forklift to get in. A "customer" (recycling AND a SMART car... how green can you get?!) Loading up the truck... Any comments are welcome... coming soon will (hopefully) be an abandoned mine - now being used for outdoorsy stuff (fishing, camping, walking, offroading etc) Quote
greg3 Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Hi Here's a few quick pics of the latest addition to the village... an old mine. Like a lot of villages near where I live, Ballabreek had a thriving mining industry over 100 years ago. This is one such mine, near the edge of the village but now long abandoned... The mine entrance... this is just a small mine that proved uneconomical to operate... Spoil heaps surround the entrance... And are used by the locals for off road trials riding... Comments always welcome... next I plan to have the mine reopened using the new mining sets (the locals will just have to find somewhere else to ride their bikes!) Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Excellent old mine 'greg3'.....your little village is really coming along. Keep going and Brick On ! Quote
