As many know, "Sariel" (Paul Kmiec) is a prolific Lego Technic builder. Over the past few years, he has built 12 different tanks that display his advanced modeling skills. :cry_happy: He will soon be releasing released his latest Leopard 2A4 Tank :thumbup::thumbup: that is chronicled on http://sariel.pl and Sariel's Facebook page. In the meantime, Here is a review of his previous tanks (any of which would be a great addition to one's collection!)

Click on the links below to see the narrative, pictures, and videos of each tank. Although the older tanks have been taken apart (to build newer MOCs) and there are no Building Instructions available, the photo documentation allows skilled Technic AFOLs to possibly re-create them. From newest to oldest, here they are:

Whoa. I have to say, I have been fancying making some sort of roundup of my tanks, just not yet... First I want to publish Leopard and my next tank, K2 Black Panther, which will continue the development of some of the solutions used in Leopard. Most importantly, I want to take the torsion bars suspension used in Leo and make it remote-controlled, so that the tank can sit / stand up / tilt in various directions.

To be frank, I like only S Tank 2 and Leopard. Sariel's Leo 2 seems to be the only perfect tank ever built of LEGO. I have nothing more to say and cannot wait till it is finished.

wow... it certainly shows how far you've come in skill, and modelling techniques!

I remember seeing some of your early ones, and was quite impressed..

but now, compared to the last couple of tanks.. they look very 'simple'!

the early ones were just all studded plates everywhere, hiding complex mechanics..

the new ones are a mix of studded, tiles, greebles, and details (while still hiding complex mechanics! :)

I'm following you on facebook.. always good to see a nice pic every week or so!

(occasionally I get my Polish-born wife to translate the Polish 'gadu gadu' in the comments!)

I look forward to the Leopard 2!. It looks fantastic!. I was beginning to wonder when we might see a new LEGO model up on your website. =D

I believe this is constantly stated, but I like how your models incorporate aesthetics AND function with quite little compromise (if any at all). They look the deal and work the deal. It's always enjoyable to read and watch the reports that you make.

Wow! Really impressive Sariel! *oh2*

Cool to see the evolution as well! It's obvious training pays off!

I've made a couple of "tanks" previously but they were just imagination work (Lynx Mk I and Mk III), you got me inspired to try again and this time aim for realism!

Is the Swedish tank really called "S Tank"? The word "stank" in Swedish means "stench"...

Edit: It's called "Stridsvagn S" in Swedish and S-Tank in English. Stridsvagn is Tank in English so no strange thing there. Stridsvagn literary means combat-wagon.

Looking forward to the 'unveiling' of the Leopard 2A4, it's easily the best-looking of the bunch :classic:

Now for the Pz.Kpfw. VIII 'Maus'
