greg3 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Very nice... I like the final design of the memorial (it looks very similar to several photos I've seen on the 'net) and the toilet block is looking good so far (although personally I'd have the memorial and toilets further apart or separate them with trees/fencing) Anyway looking forward to seeing more... keep on building!! lightningtiger Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Thanks 'greg3' for the comments, it seems the toliet block is too close, I do have a 16x32 green base plate so I will just find more green plates, LBG tiles, etc., and make the park bigger then. But first a special post between 10 and 11 this morning ! Keep on remembering ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Sorry, I'm a little late with this one...... I have a title for this photo......Flowers for Great-Granddad. A young boy comes early on the 11th of November with a simple bunch of red flowers, his Great-Granddad didn't make it home....he is buried somewhere overseas in a war the boy hasn't even learnt about in school yet. All he knows is Granddad is always sad on this day....sad in the fact that his father never came home like many others dads and even mums. Lest we forget ! Keep on remembering ! Quote
Tazmaniac Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Nice work Tiger. Today Australians remember and pay respect to ALL fallen soldiers regardless of their origen, There are no winners in war it hurts everyone. to forget the past is to damn the future.....lest we forget Quote
peterab Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Wait... Why is there a toilet at a memorial park?! LT was perhaps a little flippant in his reply, but his Moc is quite accurate. In country towns the war memorial will be in the main street, often near or in a park perhaps with some play equipment. Since they are centrally located and are ideal places for travelers to stop many towns have built car parks, tourist information booths or public toilets nearby. Quote

Keep on remembering ! I'm pretty sure I've seen a wreath in a Moc but I cant remember where. If I recall correctly it was hung on a door in a Xmas Moc. You could try getting a bunch of the flower stems and stack them and then bend them to join top to bottom. Quote

Hmmm, well the 11th has past so the next time is 21st of April next year......by then I might have a wreath arranged. Thanks for the idea 'Peter'.......keep on remembering ! Quote
