I think some of you are being harsh with these "chew toys". I actually don't think they're all bad (crap according to some of you). I like the Yeti which I mentioned previously (although it is plain) and Tygurah has some neat colors (although a Tiger mold like Athos mentioned would have been better). Many voted for Jun-Chi which I'm not really fond of at all. Something about the face.

Overall, I think these monsters did add an element of fantasy to Adventurers and the sets that included these monsters weren't bad at all. I like the collapsing bridge trap in Tygurah's Roar and the Yeti's Hideout was a nice starter set for the Mt. Everest sub-theme.

Yes, there's no denying they add an element of fantasy to the Orient Expedition old Brickster, but they could have been concieved and executed better. The collapsing bridge would still collapse without Tygrah wouldn't it? The Yeti's hideout would still start nicely without the Yeti wouldn't it?

Phes, do not venture out of Pirates, its really not your element X-D :-P

No its definitely not... However, we haven't quite reached a piratical utopia here, so until such exists I'll have to diversify myself amongst all history themes.

I didn't know the SW Hoth Wampa was part of history X-D :-P

Sure it is! :-P Star Wars is so popular, it has become part of history, and the wampa is part of SW, so it's part of history too. :-P

yes, this is a joke

Well you have a good point! And Star Wars has a high degree of adventure in the storylines so technically the Wampa is an adventure monster. However, Brickster is specifically referring to Orient Expedition monsters so maybe we shouldn't stray too far from those...

That wasn't in reference to the Wampa, Armada Yoda! It was in reference to straying away from the Pirates.

It was actually Phes since my joke was in direct relation to your knowledge of SW and SW Lego :-P

You said:

Don't Wampa's have horns? Isn't there a LEGO Wampa in any of the Star Wars sets?

And I replied:

Phes, do not venture out of Pirates, its really not your element X-D :-P

What are you trying to do ?? Confuse an old green creature X-D :-P

Armada *yoda*

Well yes I thought it might be but we can't be too sure these days so I had to pull it apart...

Confuse an old green creature? Why yes I am! :-D

Seems I'm a bit (being majorly, having just noticed this was made in 2006) late for this, but seeing as it's been revived, why not leave a vote and a comment. I actually kind of sorta liked these guys. They make good evil, imposing enemies, I mean, we gotta have some bad guy to fight. :sceptic: I voted the Yeti seeing as it actually makes a good Yeti. Who really needs a giant Tiger anyway? Though I do like him, as he's orange and a tiger, two of my favourite things, but I just don't see the use of a giant bi-pedal tiger. Jun-Chi is awesome and detailed, but I see more use in a Yeti than an Asian demon.

Though I don't have or ever had any of these creatures , I voted for the yeti as it looks the best (IMO), and can be used a lot more such as a Wampa, and to add some life to most mountainy areas, I mean how many times do you see a giant tiger or something like Jun-Chi walking arond *huh* .

Just as often as you see a giant yeti walking around!

Anyway, my vote goes to the Jun-Chi, Yeti's and giant tigers are so over-rated. And I loved those Chinese based sets (I still do too  ).

I never had any of these creatures before. But if I were to choose, I will defintely choose the Yeti. If there is a gold dragon in it, my vote will defintely go to that.

Oh undoubtedly! That would be a unanimous vote for sure! Everybody loved that gold dragon! I don't know a soul who doesn't! (well I did, but they're all dead now... )

That was an awesome dragon. Now I know many people didn't like the original Lego dragons (which is blasphemy in itself), but everyone has to admit that with it's extra long tail, gold printing and gold head piece, it was a true Lego treasure. No, I'm not asking you, I'm telling you to admit it!

Repeat after me: Dragons are the best. This gold dragon is awesome! (and I want to hear that love emoticon!)

The original was my favourite

anyway back on topic ummm...go Jun-Chi...

btw I have Jun-Chi and the tiger, at first I thought it was a bear  the set is awsome that it comes in but the tiger is only average..

I voted on this I while ago, but I can't remember what I voted for. I have all these animals, but I'm not sure I can choose.

Maybe I would say Jun-Chi, just for the nice decoration. I have two Jun-Chis, as in 2006 I saw the set in a shop in Holland and I thought, "that's a few years old now... I think I'll get another one." I'm glad I did because the arms and legs are useful pieces. :sweet:

:skull:

It's great to see some of these old threads revisited after a few years. I voted Yeti because I always enjoyed the legend and stories about the Yeti. Then there's the Yeti inside Disney's Matterhorn, the Wampa from Star Wars, the Yeti from the old G.I. Joe Adventures, and other sightings in movies and cartoons.

Definately the Yeti!

Tygurah is way too cute and cuddly, and Yun Chi looks a bit stout... hardly a fearsome villain to chase you around.

Yeti wins!

I have them all, and though the Yeti is easily the best, Tygurah gets a pity vote. The tail is actually sweet on the other hand, and the set he comes in is so much fun to play with. Jun Chi's is the worst, and the Yeti's set and figure are probably the strongest.
