Posted November 3, 201014 yr A start of a new W-I-P everyone, a service truck to support the water truck and Bobcat. I have spent a few hours today working on the tray top with the jumbo tool boxes. Unpdating tomorrow.....comments welcome and keep on trucking !
November 3, 201014 yr Great truck lightningtiger! So far I like the overall look of it and the functionality (the opening drawers and doors). I can't wait to see the finished product. Well done so far. ~buddy~
November 3, 201014 yr Looks great lightningtiger! I really like the tools compartment of the service truck. The multi-spot lights are good details too. Can't wait to see the final product.
November 3, 201014 yr Nice work, the lighting on the top really makes it for me. All service trucks need the traffic directinnrlighting, so kudos there. The back does look a little bare, but it sounds like that is being worked on.
November 3, 201014 yr Author Thanks 'buddy', KielDaMan' and 'Big Cam' for your kind comments, well this is a big W-I-P because the front end with not be what is there now, but the same as the water truck - stickered too. The back....still thinking what to do there, but on top on those clips will be white lightsaber bars....the back tray - dam they don't do these is white ! Do you think it be okay to use dark bluey grey on the back tray top ? That's what I mean a big W-I-P......keep on suggesting !
November 3, 201014 yr Author Thanks 'Mrlegoninja', 'greg3' and 'BosniaFTW' for your kind comments, I'll be spending part of today reworking what I have done already and I had a brain-storm this morning....why don't I combine this truck with the water tanker and make the tanker part removable so the truck can transport something....but don't worry the tanker truck will stay but as a small fuel delivery tanker ! Watch this forum for updates later on today and keep on er....fixing !
November 4, 201014 yr I love it. Your MOCs and MODs are great. In fact, I was first drawn to this site after finding one of your Orange Tow Truck MODs on Brickshelf and then finding out you were active here. I'm curious about something, where do you tend to get most of your pieces? Sometimes I think you've bought a set and are using it for parts, but lately I'm guessing you are ordering from Bricklink or Pick a Brick? The main problem I have is lots of bricks, but not so many plates or the odd bits that always seem to be needed to make an MOC. I've picked up some useful stuff on business trips to a City with a Lego Store (going again next week), but haven't ordered online from either of those yet.
November 4, 201014 yr Author Thanks for the comments 'meyerc13'...gee, that old MOD of mine - which sadly was wrecked for parts for other creations. I either use sets my son doesn't really use or want any more, I buy sets on sale or clearance if useful to my MOC building, plus I visit Toy Corner sometimes for odds and ends. Currently I'm working on an 9 wide trailer for the Bobcat to be carried on. Keep on fixing stuff !
November 4, 201014 yr It really looks great, I like it a lot! The addition of the green parts on the finished product really improved the overall looks of the truck. Not to mention my favorite features of the truck - the spotlights and the tools compartment. Great work as usual lightningtiger!
November 4, 201014 yr Author Thanks 'KielDaMan' for your kind comments, glad you like all the little trimmings including the warning/directive lights on the black background panel. Back to work on the trailer now, so keep on digging !
November 4, 201014 yr Author Here's another add-on W-I-P, I have only done one side with mudguards - just trying out some ideas, suggestions and comments welcome......keep on suggesting ! Edited November 4, 201014 yr by lightningtiger
November 4, 201014 yr I like the finished version better than the first version. It is a great idea to use those pieces for the mudguard on the trailer. A great MOC. Well done. ~buddy~
November 4, 201014 yr Author Thanks 'JeremyB' and 'buddy' for your kind comments. I'll be working on that trailer again today, I need to find another two mudguards otherwise a another change in design direction for the mudguards. Keep on watching for later on today.
November 5, 201014 yr Author I need suggestions for equipment or machinery that can a) sit on the back or b) towed behind this truck ? I'm thinking pothole patcher, but any suggestions will be looked at and maybe even tried out ! Keep on suggesting !
November 5, 201014 yr How about a welder, set of torches, or air compressor for the truck. Maybe a ditch digger for the trailer.

Thanks 'JeremyB', a TIG welder has come to mind and yes an air compressor is a must now because I will be making one of these...... Of course the onboard compressor won't be needed when we have a compressor on board the truck ! Keep on watching this page !
November 6, 201014 yr Author Here we go changes again, I had to raise the warning/directive lights to clear the new air compressor.....nice and HD.....heavy duty that is ! Still trying to sort out the Bobcat trailer, anyway keep on digging !

November 6, 201014 yr The truck is looking perfect lightningtiger, I simply love it Nice use of the CM stand for the light board.
November 6, 201014 yr Author Thanks 'The Red Brick' for your kind comments , I'm right this moment working on more equipment to be mounted on the back of the truck. Then some more trailers containing different plant, of course besides the cement mixer and water tanker trailer. Keep on watching !
