Mr Cleese, you're better off creating a new thread before stating your question. Expecting a huge (or any) response from a question like that 74 posts into a thread will not work very well for it is deviating too far into new territory. Its best to start afresh and with a question like "Would it be plausible for MOCers to design a new pirate theme without reward or acknowledgement - what problems might arise from this?" would make for brilliant discussion in a new thread.

I think a PotC theme would be terrible. The ships will probarly have the 4+ hull and would be too short. A un-licenced pirate theme would be much better.

What makes you think they wouldn't use a +4 hull on un-licenced pirates?

Mmmm I don't know, maybe they would use the old hull what they also used on the viking ship, they did not threw that mold away, maybe they still have stern and bow section molds. To The LEGO company: if they have, than they should start using them, molds are expensive, then use them!!
