Posted November 6, 201014 yr This time I tryed to make the lighetst big scale offroader possible. For that I used only one Xl motor and the lightweight rechargable LiPo battery box. I aimed at the weight of 800 grams and managed to do better. With panels the truck weighs 750 grams, which is 2x lighter than avenger. Because its so light, the gear ratio was decreased to 1:3, which makes this offroader one of the fastest built too. For maximum flex there is four link suspension on both axles, simillar to one from avenger. With the use of H frames I also managed to amke axles much smaller, lighter and sturdyer. Also there is lots more weight in front, which also helps to keep the truck stable when going uphill. The rear axle is a bit anorexic, but its very strong! The driveshaft is accelerated by XL motor which helps to reduce load on the u joints and torque twist. Very high suspension flex thanks to 4 link setup and diagonal springs. Like by most of my MOCs, there's an LXF file: Download And the video: Edited November 6, 201014 yr by Zblj
November 6, 201014 yr Looks like another must-build for me Keep up the good work! You should add your designs to Basebrick Edited November 6, 201014 yr by jantjeuh
November 6, 201014 yr looks great. and if it's only 750 grams i bet it is quick. i like the way you've done the suspension too. well done.
November 6, 201014 yr What I like most are the axles using the large Technic frames. I still cannot understand how do your 12 tooth bevel gears hold in one piece. When I was building my trial truck, I had to change both axles since the bevels kept cracking all the time when the car came to a higher obstacle.

Those gears hold well, because the egar ratio on axles is 1:5 and the truck is light.
November 7, 201014 yr Hi, Is this based on the Off Roader (8297)? I mean the parts set :) not the idea... Thanks, Noam
November 7, 201014 yr Author Hi, Is this based on the Off Roader (8297)? I mean the parts set :) not the idea... Thanks, Noam The panels and wheels are from that set, but other parts are also from 8258 and many more.
December 20, 201014 yr I don't have those wheels in my part directory, do you know how can I put them in there?
